Back in the late 80's a place opened here that would make waffle cones fresh onsite - they would plug the bottom with a malted milk ball while it was still warm - would melt the chocolate just a bit and make a seal - and gave a nice treat at the bottom of the cone

Here's the thing I noticed about the uneven cooking. When you opened the lid, the circular waffle was sitting closer to the hinge than the front. I then noticed that when you poured the batter, it was closer to the hinge than the front, so it didn't spread out in the centre. Getting it closer to the centre might get it to bake more evenly.

We take waffles seriously in our house th-cam.com/users/postUgkxUfphIgghPSpAXNq6OG2WRYsFVqylcqMn and worked our old one through many years of Sunday brunches till it finally gave out on us. Our old one only made two at a time, this one makes four! Nicely sized 1 inch thick which are lovely! Now the kids don't have to wait as long to eat our weekly waffle breakfast and everyone's are hot if we wait and eat all together! Setting 3 seems to work perfect for golden brown. Be sure to pour the batter in the center of each waffle square, not the center of the iron like the novice that posted the scorched waffles photo. About a 1/4 to 1/3 cup of batter in each seemed to work well for us. We tested making just one at a time so we could use all the remaining batter and it made it just as fluffy and golden as when we made 4!

Then produce and upload all the videos over a month or two, and record which batch of episodes do better. I wonder if pinching the bottom of cone would solve the hole issue at bottom? No issues for the cool to cold weather as I doubt the ice cream would melt much but in the summer? Um,no. We would not like it if chocolate ice cream drips out the hole onto a white shirt. I like the idea of adding a marshmallow in it. The flavor sounds really good. Was there any no no’s about adding flavor extracts prior to cooking? That could be fun experimenting.

Everything I'd have tried to perfect this waffle cone production you tried EXCEPT for pinching the tip shut after rolling the warm waffle into a cone while it's still pliable.
A hard pinched seal should work pretty well. If you want to prevent melted ice cream from leaking out the bottom, a mini marshmallow would work well as a bottom of cone cork that stop the 8ce cream before the pinch-sealed tip.

Love this video. I have seen that, for the bowl, other makers, put the one bowl mold upside down, on the table, so the "waffle cone" forms over the outside of the first bowl mold, and the inside of the second bowl mold. So gravity helps you push the second bowl mold down, to form the waffle bowl shape. I did not really know what ChatGPT was. Thank for the information.

BTW, there is a food truck here in Kansas City that uses 3 of these to make waffle cones. They then form the waffle around fried chicken tenders and fried shrimp and pork to make unique sandwich / burritos. They are amazing. The wrapped fried chicken ones, they give you maple syrup and spray butter all over the cone / wrapper.

For the waffle bowl set the bowl form on the table with the arch up drape the waffle over it then gently put the other half over it. Wait 30 seconds flip your whole bowl right side up. This way you are not forcing it down into the form but the edges are gently pulled down by gravity.

An easy variation would be to fold them like tortillas, easily done with a taco rack. For the cones, could you fold up the bottom a bit to block the hole? Or are they not big enough cones that way? A drippy ice cream cone is one of life's less pleasant experiences, but maybe the crunch makes up for it.

Not sure if you have tried this yet, but that if you were to pinch or even fold the hole at the bottom before they set? May not look as good but may save you some mess 🤷‍♂️😁

    @larryn2674 ปีที่แล้ว

James, we have an idea on closing up the hole. When your forming the cone just pinch the bottom and it should close up the hole..................

I don't eat frozen desserts often enough to justify getting one of these, but I'm almost sold on it based almost entirely on the differences you pointed out between these waffle cones and store bought waffle cones.

Just bought one to make keto tortillas - working on recipes - this unit is gang busters for making anything you want that is thin and round - the non-stick is quite good and have not had to oil as much as my waffle maker. Sooo - it's handy - it's inexpensive - you want one - just buy it!

Serving size of ice cream is 2/3 cup and yogurt 6oz so the smaller cone is good. Move the batter toward the front.

When I've seen you posted a video featuring ChatGPT I thought it's going to be forced because of all the hype around it but was I wrong! You kept your product review style and did not go into useless segments of the AI. I liked the video, keep it up James!

I think you have a waffle maker, an ice cream maker, a snow cone maker, a hot dog cooker, a popcorn machine... do you know or is there a corn dog maker you can review and I think you will have all the. machines to make all the food one would find in a carnival!

Rest of the world: that's a normal size cone.
US: it should also be able to double as a hat.

fastest eating of an ice cream cone I ever saw! HA HA I would be tempted not to make the cones but just cut the waffles into 6 triangles and serve ice cream in a bowl with 3 of them stuck in it! Great snacking! HA HA

Excellent review, but I'm kinda surprised that you didn't try making the cones without the tool. I feel like you could get similar results with just a griddle, maybe even a skillet.

Great review. Although this is a great gift idea I prefer Greek yogurt with fresh fruit. I'm not a big fan of ice cream. You do the best reviews, I enjoy watching them even if I'm not interested in the product.
