bought the bowl huggers after this review, I got the multi size pack and use them often. I eat my soup while it is still in the hugger and it keeps it hotter longer. I got the strainer too but, have not tried it yet. Thanks for the reviews.
The pickle fork is a great idea. Convenient, easy way to deter people from sticking their unwashed fingers in the pickle jar. Eating from the fork defeats the 🦠 germ-free purpose, and it’s very sharp. Bowl Hugger is perfect I frequently use a flat potholder under my hot Corelle bowl when I lunch on the couch with a good movie .
I have the fridge fork, the only problem I have with it is that the shelf in the fridge I put the jar on normally fits, but with the fork attached I have to put it on a taller spot.
No judgement, if it works for you it works for you, but why though? How is it anymore convenient that using a normal fork from from the drawer? This product doesn't really solve a problem I'd expect anyone to really have.
I personally have a problems with a normal fork sometimes. The spiky tthingies are quite hard to push into the pickles, so the fridge fork seems to have a point there.
I was gifted something very similar to the bowl hugger. Same shape but its quilted. At first I didn't see it being useful. However, now I use it for hot bowls & for ice cream all the time. It helps to maintain the bowl temp either way. I don't see the point of the pickle fork. Just use a reg fork. I keep white towels about the same size as the bamboo towels. I wash & bleach them as necessary. I use a specific tea towel for drying dishes. I only use a paper towel as a occas napkin.
I have that exact same strainer, color too, I absolutely love it! The clips are nice and strong, dishwasher safe and completely adjustable, one of the best products I've bought from Amazon! Just make sure you pull the strainer bit but so its more of a bowl and not down in your pan.
I love those strainer things. I was skeptical at first about them working on a larger pot, but they still work. They take up less room than a traditional colander too.
OMG ! I love the Flip it. Love, love, love your channel. Fun, interesting and I learned about things I never would have known about. Thanks so very much. 👍👍👍👍👍
I think that the person that said Flip It leaked forgot to put the washer on, probably thought it was part of packaging and threw it way so yes it leaked. All these products seem pretty good. Thanks for the information.❤️👍🏻👏🏼👵🏻🇺🇸

I use it on all my pots, but try and avoid using it on pots that have a way bigger circumference than the strainer.. it lives in my pot cubbard… I usually use it on things that I don’t want to strain completely, but for stuff like potatoes it’s perfect!!
Great content as usual James, but I would love to see how the fridge fork performs when there’s only 3-4 pickles left in the big jar. Will it reach all the way in and will it still be as easy to spear the pickles when they’ve got room to escape? etc. Maybe something for your follow-up video. Thanks!
Great review...very indepth! This was like reading the manual but more fun :) Do people even read manuals anymore though...lol. Great job on your video :)
I haven't used any of those but that "flip it" is something I think I'll take a look at buying. Pump tops are convenient when bottles are full but when you get down to that last bit, they're useless.
maybe good for lotions or bathroom items but for the kitchen i literally just place a bottle upside down in a mug and set it in the corner on my counter 🤣
I have a homemade version of the bowl hugger. My mom made a quilted version from a template, and it works great. The materials are different, but I can say that the form that those are made in really does work well for the intended purpose.
Watch from the start to the end and quite enjoyed it and realized I didn't go to online shop for quite some time that I missed on a lot of new stuff people do buy that I don't think I will. Thanks a lot for sharing, now that I know they existed. Among all items I think the bamboo paper towel quite useful.💪💪💪
Awesome review! Everytime I binge watch your reviews I get yelled at by my wife because I end up buying some of the stuff you reviewed (cup cozy, collapsable stool, flip it, and the finger chopsticks are just some of the many) 🤣🤣🤣....thank you for the honest reviews 👍👍
I used to work in a kitchen shop that sold everything under the Sun in terms of gadgets. I still have "The Pickle Plucker" that did the same thing as the item you showed. It was something put out at Tupperware parties. I also had a German made pickle stabber that resembled the plastic one you showed, but it was a much higher-grade item.
So cool that you would even review something as specific as this but... I sure could have used these when I worked at a spa. Great honest review, as always, thanks
I've had a few "bowl huggers" for years, but they're handmade and you get them at craft fairs, state fairs, and events like that where people sell their products. Probably have them on Etsy, but I've not looked. I love them! You can get any pattern you can think of since it uses basic fabric by the yard that you can get at a craft store. They are very popular with patterns of sports teams. I would highly recommend these over the weird Amazon ones. Especially since the ones I have appear to have higher sides and can work as a hotpad if you need to just grab something quick.
I was coming down here to make this exact comment! I got some handmade ones as a wedding present. Honestly, my husband and I use them literally every day. I think the Amazon ones looked a little weirdly shaped… the handmade ones we got are a little bigger too I think
You can also crochet them with cotton yarn, there are patterns available on the internet. Only use cotton yarn though, acrylic yarn melts at the higher temperatures since it is plastic.
Thanks for reviewing the bowl hugger. I was given one for Christmas. This one is called Microwave Bowl Caddy from One Crazy Grandma in Texas and it's $8
I have a fridge fork. It's pretty nifty especially for a half full or nearly empty jar. I tend not to hang on to gadgets I don't like but I keep this one around.
I have a store brand of bamboo towels. I wash them in a mesh bag, with the super hot cycle that I do all my dish cloths and dish towels on. They shrank a fair bit, and have a softer, more absorbent. I love them for polishing my black stove and microwave. Although bamboo is a quick, easy growing plant, turning bamboo into viscose fabric, is not the greatest for the environment. Neither is cotton though.

They sell an eczema cream that works great, but for 18 dollars a bottle, I should not have like 2/3 cup of lotion stuck on the bottom of the bottle that the pump can't reach.
My mom gave me the pot strainer for Christmas and I loved it. Mine looks a tiny bit different as the strainer net part is taller so food won’t go fall over it as easily but it doesn’t have the pour spout dip on the end so water has a wider and messier flow.
I think those bowl huggers would be great for serving bowls at meal time. Dump those freshly microwaved/steamed veggies or the stir fry you just made into a serving bowl and they get hot. Those huggers would protect your hands getting them to the table and then protect the table, hence acting as a trivet. As for that Fridge Fork, I’m going to order one right now! My husband LOVES baby dill pickles and he’s always digging in the jar with his fingers. We need that item now!
You might want to try a little spatula with a long handle that fits into those bottle. Amazon sells them for under 10 bucks. You could get the rest of it out like that. I normally just cut the plastic bottles in half using a pair of scissors.

That strainer looks handy. I've had the half-moon strainers you hold against the pot while straining but you have to be careful not to let slip or scald yourself.
I think all but the bamboo towels are useful. The bamboo towel is reminiscent of Handi-Wipes, multiple use towels and I prefer a disposable/one use kind of paper towel. I have regular wash cloth for multiple uses. good reviews as usual
Greeting from Sweden! You should try the Swedish invention, Wettex. Its a 100% biodegradable and compostable dishcloth. You can use them for weeks then throw them in the washing machine and use them again. Everybody in Sweden use them for the kitchen, bathrooms and when we clean the house. You gonna love it.
Wow, that pickle stabber is interesting to me. I don't eat a whole lot of pickles but I do eat roasted red peppers from a jar every single day and either I have to pour out the water or stick my fingers in the job to get enough grip to pull the pepper out. Regular forks are a little too big and don't grab it well enough.
I just started watching your channel. I really like it ! Thank you for not blasting the music. The music is not too loud or annoying. Thanks again! I will keep watching.
I've been using the green clip on strainer for years and years. I clip the strainer on before I even start boiling anything so I don't get burned. I love it.
My favorite two gadgets are the extra-long (typically 11" - 13") hooks and tweezers. Both are great values and they are great for getting food out of jars and also great for flipping food in pans, on sheets, or on the grill. Much easier to use than forks, spoons, tongs, or spatulas. Need to flip burgers or remove waffles from the waffle iron? Use the tweezers. Need to extract hot toast or bagels from a toaster, turn over chicken legs, thighs, and breasts? Use the hook. Need to remove pickles from a tall jar (whole or sliced) then use the hook or tweezers as you deem fit. I use the extra-long tweezers when I make scrambled eggs too. The tweezers are handy to twirl the eggs while they cook and then lift them out of the pan with ease.
We have two of that adjustable strainer, one is the same model you reviewed and the other is presumably an earlier version as it looks like the images on the Amazon link. The style you reviewed drains better due to more and larger slots at the edge. It does have effective limits about how much pasta; e.g. we sometimes make a large amount of torelloni so there will be leftovers and the pasta can tumble over the top when affixed to the stock pot if I'm not careful. It's a trade-off but taking up so little room in the dishwasher and cabinets is nice.
Thought you might like to know that over time, even if you don't do it regularly, dumping boiling water down your drains, loosens the pvc glue and can cause leaks. Always run cold water when dumping and dump slowly. Because when your house was built, those plumbers were NOT using a high heat resistant glue. That is a different glue.
I think warm water is okay, but I have definitely learned that boiling water is likely to do as you wrote. I think our hot water system is set at 129 F.
15:28 - 15:30 James: "Alright, I just put this in some warm soapy wooder" ChrisFix: "Hey guys! ChrisFix here! Today, I'm going to be showing you the best..."
Maybe for people who want a pickle but don't want to wash a fork? Here's what kills me: It's intended to keep fingers out of the pickle jar; keep the pickles germ-free. It's not intended just to keep your fingers juice-free......fingers should not be in the jar anyway. Yuck. And he was eating off the fridge fork. Totally defeats the purpose! I'm thinking my sons would do the same thing. Too funny :)
I can see this being used by single people who love pickles, love eating them at random throughout the day, but are too lazy to be constantly cleaning forks. I’m convinced that whoever designed that thing was that type of person.
I wouldn't need the Flip It since I just use a funnel to empty one container into a new one to get the last drop out. The Fridge Fork could built up bacteria in it's holder while sitting around waiting to be used again. Just use a regular fork when you need to get something out of a jar.
I’ve had the green strainer for years and love it. It doesn’t take up near as much space as a colander in the cabinet or the dishwasher and I love it for those reasons. And it works.. I’ve never had issues with it …works great!
I love the idea of the Flip It. Certainly, this isn't a new idea but it's the first time I've seen it as an add on. Condiment manufacturers figured this out years ago, but as your review points out, there are many products that could use an inverted bottle that don't come that way. As you point down, it's products that are extremely viscous which make Flip It a fantastic product. No more waiting for that last bit of material to flow from the bottom to the top of a container.
👍 great reviews. Entertaining and informative. That strainer looks good. Amazon here I come. As to the rest 🤷♀️. Thanks. I always enjoy your videos. And the comments are helpful too.
We have two clip on strainers- one for smaller pots at home and one in our RV. Takes up much less space than a colander and cleans up easily especially when straining grease from taco meat.
I'm not sure if James knows this or not but when you have something new that's that red, it would be best to put it in a bucket by itself with salt mix it together and let it soak and then it won't bleed, apparently the negative review from Amazon for the bowl hugger didn't understand that
My thoughts on the bamboo towels: theyre a novelty, sortof, but the convenience vanishes after the first use lol the whole appeal of a paper towel is its right there in the kitchen and you throw away the gross after you use it. with these, you have to wash it, but then you cant put it back on the roll, so where do you keep it? on the counter? nah ill stick with paper towels and when i need it, rags. you can get a big pack of washcloths for way cheaper and they last ages longer
The bamboo paper towels seem so pricey, especially when you can get a pack of washcloths or other cloths for far less than half the cost of the bamboo towels and have them last years.
@@IRBork 12 rolls of shop towels are $26 on amazon. Total area 48m^2 Bounty 12 pack $26. Total area 61m^2. They really are very close in price. 28% more isn't a lot for far superior quality
14:26 I always knew this was a secret commercial channel...your insistence it's not means that it is, and combined with what we're being shown, that's enough confirmation for me!
I bought a roll of bamboo towels (branded as Dragon towels) years ago for about $8 canadian. I quite like them for blotting my brushes when watercolouring. They work great for that... and I like that they're white so i can see the colour easily. A chain of dollar stores (sort of... they have stuff up to a few dollars) up here called Dollarama sold a different brand for a bit for $2, but not recently.
Love seeing you try something somewhat eco friendly! Could you try some seri waste swaps possibly??? That’s would be awesome to see and usually saves money long run! Win win!
I think they meant the 'entire' roll is smaller than they expected. Not the individual sheets. They're about 1/2 the size of a regular roll of paper towels.
The flip it works pretty well but....you have to keep track of all the parts & if you have children those little parts can be a nightmare. I usually find a container that fits the container and put it in there to drain it down until it's all used up. Hard to word but I hope that's clear enough.
The Flip-It leaked for me when I was getting the last of Softsoap out of the refill size. It didn't leak immediately, but it did a bit. I'll keep trying it though.
You don't need a pickle fork. Look up pick-a-deli container. You dump your pickles in there and the handle lifts the pickles right out of the juice for you. But it's pretty big. Good for family size pickled foods.
Mighty Bamboo towels should have some kind of reusable roll center and automated roller for the laundered ones to be re-rolled for ease of use and storage.
I got the large set of Flip-It and then got some extra sizes and gaskets. I love the ability to get all the stuff out of the bottles. So far honey, shampoo and conditioner are what I've done.
I don't know if this applies to the Flip It but I've had bottles that even though they have the type of lid that lets you store the bottle upside down I still can't get everything out. I found another item on Amazon, the name escapes me, that are 2 funnels that are hooked together so that the wide part of each funnel face one another. This allows you to clip your almost empty bottle suspended above the new bottle. The contents of the old bottle then drain into the new bottle. Some products, because they are thick, may take some time to completely drain. And I haven't tried it on a lot of different bottles but the ones I did try it on really worked well. I imagine some bottles, because of size, may become unbalanced but I don't know this for a fact.
For me .. I think my fav 🥁 was bamboo towels 🤙🏼 (decent price too) 2nd runner up .. maybe bowl hugger 🤔... I have grab many hot bowls or plates 😬 3rd runner up .. squeeze it, as most foods have squeeze caps, I think the lotion & liquid soaps etc was def a winner to get the last drop out (agree, too much waste 🤙🏼) Would be cool to have better gadget to get last usage from the laundry soaps & softeners .. they made those pour caps with gadget inside to deliberately not allow the last pour, leaves about a load behind in “larger” jugs 😏 maybe strainer next .. Especially if no space avail 🤷🏼♀️ pickle jar .. 🤔 can use a fork easily Thanks Jeff .. groovy ideas today 🤙🏼
the fridge fork, you have to do more dishwashing than just using a regular fork. Because I would have to wash the entire thing each time using it, I don't want old dried up pickle juice on that forkholder.
@@girlsdrinkfeck 1. Canadians also call them pickles. 2. They're the most commonly eaten pickled food in North America, and simply calling them "pickles" works just fine without any confusion. So if it works, why change it? 3. Gherkin is a term used in North America, but it refers to a specific type of pickle, which is a "baby pickle."
I bought the clip on strainer from AliExpress, I love it for pasta and veggies. It even works clipped onto my instant pot inner pot, when I make stock. None of the bones or mirepoix come out into the glass mason jars I pour the stock into. I got a red one in case I got spaghetti sauce on it. Had it for two years so far, no rust or damage.
That strainer will help so much when I'm making 2 boxes of Mac n cheese for my little gremlins. I have such small space in my sink and if there's even a few dirty dishes, I can't strain!
@@spikedwk That's cool, but don't strain ground beef or any meat. Do it in smaller batches and fry off all the liquid and get a nice sear and with that - better flavour.
@@santajimi searing ground beef for one is easy to burn it accidentally. Two, most people making ground beef need to cook at least a pound at a time for their recipe, and unless theyre using like 90/10 lean ground beef (which is quite expensive) their gonna have a decent amount of fat, lastly doing it in small enough batches to do what you suggest for a pound or more adds a lot of time to the cooking process. Oh and plus, a lot of people don't want all that fat in their food, I for one have issues with grease and fat that cause me intense pain so draining is the best and only way to cook ground beef for me and a lot of others.

I really enjoy your reviews please keep them coming
Another entertaining video! I think those blue shop towels would be a better competitor for the Bamboo towels.
Great episode Brother, Awesome products.
I'd use everyone of them.
Thank you, you're doing a fantastic job for us all. 👍👍
I love it.
Does that also help with boiling over?
Great video as always. I'm going to try the bowl hugger and the flipit. Thanks for the review.
You have a great personality. I have the strainer from Amazon. I use all the time on every size pot. Works perfectly. Great channel, glad to find it.

My mom actually loves kitchen gadgets
We have two of that adjustable strainer, one is the same model you reviewed and the other is presumably an earlier version as it looks like the images on the Amazon link. The style you reviewed drains better due to more and larger slots at the edge. It does have effective limits about how much pasta; e.g. we sometimes make a large amount of torelloni so there will be leftovers and the pasta can tumble over the top when affixed to the stock pot if I'm not careful. It's a trade-off but taking up so little room in the dishwasher and cabinets is nice.
I honestly could use those bowl huggers, although a simple kitchen towel does the job just fine.
Beautiful comment!
Uhoh. I’ve been doing that too. 😲
I think warm water is okay, but I have definitely learned that boiling water is likely to do as you wrote. I think our hot water system is set at 129 F.
Depends where you live and when your house was built but good advice overall.
I love my flip it's. They work quite well, especially with pump bottles, getting that last bit out.
15:28 - 15:30
James: "Alright, I just put this in some warm soapy wooder"
ChrisFix: "Hey guys! ChrisFix here! Today, I'm going to be showing you the best..."
The fridge fork is a solution for a problem that doesn’t exist.
HaHa yep, just thinking the same thing. The regular fork I use is just fine, This "gadget" is forking dumb.
As are most of kitchen gadgets
Just look at his series of ice makers
None has overcome the simple dollar store ice tray
What do you mean? It always leaves me in a pickle.
Right? Why would you pay 9 bucks when you can get a fork from your drawer for free?
I feel at that point if you still want it, you'd be buying the pronged fork rather than the gadget... Which imo the fork still seems pretty nice.
@@Trazel_Apeally get a pronged fork and q rubber band. Done 🤣🤣
@@kaycollarfeild Exactly lol. Save ourselves $9.
@@soupsgord extreme laziness?
OMG…. 🤣🤣 When you first said Bowl Hugger I thought you said “ball hugger”! I was like… WTF?! 🤣🤣🤣 💕✌🏼
I use shop towels for reusability. One question, what brand of paper towel did you compare it with? Bounty works very well and it quite strong.
Mighty Bamboo towel vs. Regular paper towel price comparison I use the blue shop towels from Sam's. Can't beat them
I'm not sure if James knows this or not but when you have something new that's that red, it would be best to put it in a bucket by itself with salt mix it together and let it soak and then it won't bleed, apparently the negative review from Amazon for the bowl hugger didn't understand that
My thoughts on the bamboo towels: theyre a novelty, sortof, but the convenience vanishes after the first use lol the whole appeal of a paper towel is its right there in the kitchen and you throw away the gross after you use it. with these, you have to wash it, but then you cant put it back on the roll, so where do you keep it? on the counter? nah ill stick with paper towels and when i need it, rags. you can get a big pack of washcloths for way cheaper and they last ages longer
The bamboo paper towels seem so pricey, especially when you can get a pack of washcloths or other cloths for far less than half the cost of the bamboo towels and have them last years.
They're just shop towels. You can get boxes and rolls of the blue ones for barely more than regular paper towels and they're crazy durable.
@@IRBork furthermore, Chicopee products makes towels that make shop towels seem like Kleenex. i like the chix 8252 microban ones for cooking
everything he reviewed was total garbage destined for the landfill.
@@IRBork 12 rolls of shop towels are $26 on amazon. Total area 48m^2
Bounty 12 pack $26. Total area 61m^2.
They really are very close in price. 28% more isn't a lot for far superior quality
Bamboo is less labor intensive and less demanding of fertilizers.
I have the flip it & LOVE it. I also have the bamboo towels. Great for some things.
I use the flip it for my lotions that have a pump. When I cant get anymore out, I remove the pump, put these on & flip them to get out the rest
14:26 I always knew this was a secret commercial channel...your insistence it's not means that it is, and combined with what we're being shown, that's enough confirmation for me!
I SAW YOUR INFO ON THE ICE MAKER .... BOUGHT IT AND I ABSOULTY LOVE IT !!!! THANKYOU
Have you done the Swedish Dish Cloths? Seem like a similar concept to the bamboo paper towels, long-lasting reuseables.
Love seeing you try something somewhat eco friendly! Could you try some seri waste swaps possibly??? That’s would be awesome to see and usually saves money long run! Win win!
I use that strainer all the time and adore it!
Hard to word but I hope that's clear enough.
another saturday with a great freakin review!
Just found this channel. Surprised at how thorough he is.
Good job.
I’ve been wanting the flip it for awhile now!! Glad to know it works!
Did you not review the adjustable strainer a few years ago? I bought one and I could have sworn that was after watching you review it.
My mom used to make a bowl holder like that out of scrap material; I love them and her. I think I will purchase these off Amazon.
It effectively turns any bottle into a stand-up bottle like the ones with the giant caps. The bottles that are meant to stand up.
I love the Flip it's. I've been using them for years!
For me .. I think my fav 🥁 was bamboo towels 🤙🏼 (decent price too)
2nd runner up .. maybe bowl hugger 🤔... I have grab many hot bowls or plates 😬
3rd runner up .. squeeze it, as most foods have squeeze caps,
I think the lotion & liquid soaps etc was def a winner to get the last drop out (agree, too much waste 🤙🏼)
Would be cool to have better gadget to get last usage from the laundry soaps & softeners .. they made those pour caps with gadget inside to deliberately not allow the last pour, leaves about a load behind in “larger” jugs 😏
maybe strainer next ..
Especially if no space avail
🤷🏼♀️ pickle jar .. 🤔 can use a fork easily
Thanks Jeff .. groovy ideas today 🤙🏼
Who's Jeff?
the fridge fork, you have to do more dishwashing than just using a regular fork. Because I would have to wash the entire thing each time using it, I don't want old dried up pickle juice on that forkholder.
Yes! I would def worry about ... dried stuff
why do americans call gherkins pickles ? anything can be pickled ,pickle isnt a food its a food thats been pickled
Cut plastic bottles and toothpaste tubes open end opposite cap. Scoop out product, minimum of 2 TB everytime.
That Adjustable Strainer has real possibilities for my daughter's tiny apartment kitchenette -- I might get her one for Christmas!
That strainer will help so much when I'm making 2 boxes of Mac n cheese for my little gremlins. I have such small space in my sink and if there's even a few dirty dishes, I can't strain!
0:14 The fridge fork. Very handy for those of us who keep our silverware (including forks) in the upstairs bathroom floor.
For the strainer I'd like to see if it can work with a pan, like for draining ground beef.
It does. I've had one for a while and do it often.
@@mikew1978 thanks, I'll probably get one after hearing that.
@@spikedwk That's cool, but don't strain ground beef or any meat. Do it in smaller batches and fry off all the liquid and get a nice sear and with that - better flavour.
@@santajimi I'm just following the hamburger helper instructions haha
James with the green shirt just makes me think of the oldschool runescape default character.
My mother in law makes the bowl huggers, a little more expensive than these, but she has them available in custom fabrics. They work really well.
