May I speak to the Professor, please.. I am a 77 year old retiree in the USA. 48 years ago, I bought a Montblanc 149, for the price of $75 USD. My work involved interviewing people and writing their stories for at least 5 hours per day and I was tired of literally breaking three $5 Cross Solo pens every year (as well as carrying at least 3 spare cartridges in my pocket daily). I was buying a tool, not a status symbol, and did not know that others regarded the 149 that way until the 1990s. The 149 is as comfortable as any pen I own. So, not a bad investment, eh? It even has resale value today, which 144 broken Solos do not.
I couldn't stop laughing after your initial appraisal of another classic M-B writing instrument - you're a funny guy - I'm subscribing on the strength of this presentation, alone :D

This is really a nice review and a fun video to watch. I own a Montblanc 146 and i think i am not going to buy anymore fountain pens from Montblanc, just for the fact that in my opinion they are too expensive and i can get better or similar options at a lower cost. Thats just my thought process though. This pen is beautiful although i dont own the pen i have the ink and i am content with that.. 😉
