      If people would pay their rent there would be no problem. No reason at all why it couldn't be paid. People were literally getting more money from unemployment than they were working. The problem is the government stopped evictions so people decided not to pay because they cant be evicted. It's exactly what the government does. They create the problem, then blame someone else

      They still have to go to court because the courts are digging deeper into people’s situations. Some people got $600 per week plus their regular unemployment plus $1200 plus for stimulus. Then they turned around and gave their landlords the middle finger. Everyone’s situation is not the same. Now landlords are getting mad and retaliating. It’s the main reason why they really didn’t want to give people another stimulus package and why they offered only half of the money this time.

    So what is the solution? Ban landlords from collecting rent and evicting tenants? You know that a lot of landlords are mom-and-pop gigs that operate on very low margins, right? You better be ready to reimburse the landlords for the expenses that they will incur if they have non-paying tenants stay in their properties.

    • @almacoles5501
      @almacoles5501 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The government cannot force people to turn their properties into rental homes. That's a violation of the United States Constitutional Laws. The only way that can occur is if the government compensates (using US Taxpayer dollars) the private property owner for taking control of their private property for public purposes. Private Property Owners are protected by Constitutional Rights so that if you decide to buy a house, the government can't come in and control your property without your permission and consent.

      Unfortunately, homeownership is not for everyone. Landlords provide necessary (whether you like it or not) products (rental units) for renters to consume.
      Not everyone has the financial capacity and/or discipline to deal with what is essentially a large leveraged position in real estate. The problem becomes worse if they have to use something like FHA financing, which increases the leverage even further. You think landlords are contributing nothing while making money off of renters? No! Landlords are shielding renters from the risks (and costs) inherent in the real estate market in exchange for a profit. Plenty of articles suggest that average Americans have very little set aside for emergency expenses. How do you expect them to deal with costly repairs and/or other risks that come with homeownership? "They will be booted onto the streets by merciless banks..."

    So what is the problem. They receive unemployment plus an extra $500. Once she learns that she had a drop in income.
    Immediately contact the landlord. Pay as much rent as you can. With government aid. She is able to pay 100% of their rent. At the very least pay 50%.
    Instead these freeloaders pay nothing. They are taking advantage of the situation.
    They expect to keep all of their unemployed and extra unemployment and just not pay rent. They want to live for free. Then they cry when they are required to pay rent.
    These freeloaders should and must be evicted.

      Sure it does. People are not dropping dead left and right when we step out the door so there doesn't appear to be a pandemic. But when people can't pay rent because dumb Governors and Mayors forced everyone to lose their business and their jobs, you gotta have non-paying occupants evicted to honor and comply with the Rental Contract Agreement during a time where reality doesn't appear to be a pandemic. Let the dumb Governors and Mayors compensate everyone's Rent cost for causing everyone to lose their job and their income.

    What did they do with their unemployment + $600? Anyone that lost their job qualified.. so what’s the problem?

      There's plenty of people that didn't receive it because of how backed up things were or becsuse of errors that took a long time to get fixed. Or maybe they simply didn't know they can get unemployment.

    Meanwhile, Trumpers are worried about communism and Biden's ties to China, as if Trump never made a deal with China before (Xi's visits to Mara Lago and MAGA hats made in China). I hope these people make it through somehow through this crazy country.

    I'm honestly the most compassionate person you'll ever meet but I don't see how renters feel they should have special privileges to live rent free. Should homeowners who lost their jobs be able to skip paying mortgages too?
