Bram Stoker on the NES is a fairly standard platformer, but the super-atmospheric, dissonant soundtrack by Jeroen Tel is pretty phenomenal, especially given how limited the hardware was. It actually nails the horror feeling dead on!
At that time, Jeroen Tel was the audio director for Probe Software, despite being hailed from Holland. After Tel left Probe to form Maniacs of Noise with fellow Holland native Charlie Deenen, he was succeeded as audio director by Steve Collett, then by Andy Brock, and finally by Stuart Duffield.
As for Andy Brock, he later became audio director at Vigil Games and Stuart Duffield is now one-half of The Audio Guys with ex-Codemasters audio maestro Tim Bartlett.
This game scared the DOGSHIT outta me as a kid. That soundtrack was so disturbingly off compared to what I was used to. Whole thing sounded possessed. Brilliant way to scare young players lol
OST sounds like a c64 than a NES. Imo it's the most unique and creepiest NES ost on the console. Overrated Castlevania sounds more silly and wacky in comparison.
It's really something that we've lived to a time where we can finally see what was past Scene 2 Nighttime in NES Dracula. I always found this game soooo hard but as a goth kid, I just kept trying. I still don't get what half these objects are.
I just beat it now and I thought it was awesome. Not as good as the snes and sega ones (I beat the former maybe a month ago) but this was still awesome. One of my fav games and movies.
I don't remember this coming out here in the states, I wonder if its a british because games in the states had a lot of restrictions. Hell, the british developers where able to make like a couple of he-man and thundercats games in the late 80's, I would've done anything to have a he-man or thundercats game....
This game is better than Suicide Squad and other recent Batman movies.....SERIOUSLY! Along with Justin Bieber and other pieces of infant shit! MEGA LULZ!

"My favorite was the 8-bit mess that was the best"

The same on Sega Genesis, btw!..

Uh..no. The SNES version had a much superior soundtrack.
Mario blocks in a Bram Stoker's Dracula game. The 90's were a magic time.
This game scared the DOGSHIT outta me as a kid. That soundtrack was so disturbingly off compared to what I was used to. Whole thing sounded possessed. Brilliant way to scare young players lol
Your skills are ridiculous. Great job. Love this channel.
Thanks! :)
when i was a kid it was the scariest game for Nes
sadly i never had a chance to play it
The soundtrack is far better than people claimed.
Thanks to AVGN
i think it's amazing and suits the game very well
Agreed. I loved it.
OST sounds like a c64 than a NES. Imo it's the most unique and creepiest NES ost on the console. Overrated Castlevania sounds more silly and wacky in comparison.
It was okay.
It's really something that we've lived to a time where we can finally see what was past Scene 2 Nighttime in NES Dracula. I always found this game soooo hard but as a goth kid, I just kept trying. I still don't get what half these objects are.
34:02 was the only thing that i didnt know. Thats why i didnt finish this game in my childhood
This Nintendo NES game, Bram Stoker's Dracula, based on the 1992 movie, is in the Adventure Series.
Or just NES will do.
I just beat it now and I thought it was awesome. Not as good as the snes and sega ones (I beat the former maybe a month ago) but this was still awesome. One of my fav games and movies.

Wait, who's this? Fred Fudge, Fred Fuchs?
if I were to play this game now, I would pretend it's John Wick vs Dracula & his army of the undead.
Wick-ed! Excellent!
I very loved this game in 90's
Best NES soundtrack ever
No. Power Blade says hi.
Agree about the 8-bit sndtrk on this. A clever horror vibe. Pry better than the game itself deserves.
Kids: can we get Castlevania?
Mom: no, we have Castlevania at home.
Castlevania at home:
06:07 ...8-bit chaos 🤖🤖🎶🤖 haha 😄😅
A bit like Alien 3?? Ohhh no! Can't deal with the clock else i'd play this.
Looks like a bit like Super Mario Bros. with those "?" blocks and collecting coins and platform jumping.
Yeah but this game had ground pound before Super Mario Bros ever did.
I feel like this game is a serious version of Mario
this game is friggin tedious. hopefully i can beat it some day lol
These creatures do not die like the bee after the first sting but become strong and immortal once infected by another nosferatu.
Looks better then the super nes one.
I preferred it over the SNES one
The music in stage 2 sounds like an unending Yngwie Malmsteen guitar solo. lol

Marcus Cristy it came out in the states
I'm Mexican and I had it for Xmas when I was 8 or 9; It'd definitely shock me that it was available here in Mexico and not in the States.
I remember it coming out in the states. I had the US Game Boy version.
But this game is better than Alien 3
35:52 FRED FUCHS. in case you're all wondering, it actually pronounced fooks, not fucks.
They animate everything but the bosses, lol.
I was playing this game in 2014 via portable famiclones, but didn't completed.
3:22 7:17 11:34 16:11 17:51 20:40 22:16 26:01 27:31 31:15 33:55 all boss
You can also stomp at question marked boxes
So, what does finding Von Helsing in all his hiding places do?
give you the best weapon for the boss battles.
Fucking question mark blocks?
6:08 TI ti ti cue cue, cuecue cue, ti ti ti cue cue, cuecue cue!
Looks like an 8 bit Hobbit :S
5:21 lukewarm lava thank god
This game is better than Suicide Squad and other recent Batman movies.....SERIOUSLY! Along with Justin Bieber and other pieces of infant shit! MEGA LULZ!

Holy hell that Carfax Abby theme is terrible!
I had thought it was Marilyn Manson in the thumbnail.

Mortal Kombat engine from probe entertainment, hey what about Super Mario Bros ? Blocks ?
