As a policeman I want to give an example. I was dispatched to a car wreck scene in which a driver was apparently racing and caused a 4 vehicle crash. Our department gets there and obviously the driver was recklessly driving at very high speeds. The scene just made him guilty specially with all the witnesses and victims who gave a statement accusing him of racing. All in all, the driver is arrested and I was given the honor to process him and do and file all his paper work. It took about one hour and 30 minutes for complete final statement. And another 3 hours to file all the paperwork and get that inmate booked.

@@TheAeasy19It is an everyday thing to be honest. If you make an arrest, pull someone over, or are trespassing someone. Filing a police report for a stolen car/ property. Just things like that involved paperwork, writing and having to collect all names, data, addresses, statements. Dude I promise you it can be a lot- mostly on an arrest especially felony arrest involving death, bodily injury weapons, or drugs. Traffic stops are easiest if it’s just a quick citation. Like 10-15 minutes.

My uncle was a cop for 26 years. I wanted to be a cop when I was younger and he actually talked me out of it because he said it's the most corrupt organization in our country only second to the corruption of our government. He loved me so much he didn't want me to be a part of any of that. The reason people say all cops are bad is because the good cops never say anything because of The Thin Blue Line.

I worked in security and am thinking about getting into law enforcement now. My experience with getting my guard card was similar to this.
In my class we had to learn how to fill out paperwork for reports. I remember there was a guy that was struggling with this.
There were those that tried to help, but I didn’t along with a few others (as in we didn’t write his report for him) cuz we realized that this was an essential part of the job that you could never ask for or rely on someone else to do for you.
It’s not like in those movies were someone helps someone over a hurdle (a good deed btw generally) but more like a basic and fundamental part of the job that unfortunately if they can’t do, then any other qualifications or skills they have won’t overcome it.
They have to rise to the challenge and hopefully have all the support they need, but in the end, they need to either do it or not, and if they can’t, then they shouldn’t, at least in those fields cuz they won’t make it.
I’m glad for this video, this is a little talked about but crucial part of the job, and I’m saying that only from someone that knows little about it, but knows at least that much from his limited knowledge. Thanks very much for the reminder and the video.

Present to supervisors the key issues folks want addressed. Going about "walk & talk" while getting out of your cruisers, the same. What's going on. What do you see, what do you hear. Pass it on to patrol bosses. Present for Roll-Call. Reports from vandalism, to robbery to homicide. The the initial who, what, where, when, why & how. The Canvassing. The complaints forms, chapter, section & briefs. The articulating as to the why for applying for warrants. Presenting your arguments and reasons for negotiating contracts or applications for grants for training, equipment, programs, projects, task-forces. Articulating the whys for whens in having press conferences, public hearings, community outreach.......All involve the understanding, the speaking, writing, reading and yes translating properly the English Language. The real question is what’s it like being married to a cop I need to blog about it. I’ve had some really funny experiences and really unfunny ones, but I still love my husband, and I will always be proud of him for his service to the community and his country be viathe Navy. as an MA, which is master arms, no care police he did two combat tours. I feel like I did them with him since I was always sending boxes I sent so many boxes filled with goodies I even baked for him in his unit my special recipe chocolate cookies

Best way to explain being a cop is thinking of them as “adult babysitters”

I saw a policeman in Austria writing reports just with his index fingers. It was crazy. It took so long. I was surprised he hadn’t learnt the 10-finger system.

I was taken in the other week in an overnight cell for being drunk and disorderly and the morning after the officer who interviewed me and released me said "50% of us want to just pay our mortgage and the other 50 actually enjoy making people's life harder" and know I think about it, he's right

Also, if you want to be a police officer, you need a strong urge to want to bully Other people have an overexaggerated ego of your importance. And believe that you're above the law.
