Dear Father, Thank you for this wonderful sermon on suffering. However there is a section which is just driving me bananas. No matter how many times I listen to the recording, I cannot make out what you're saying here: " ..we'd "prize simply devolve" into something like a heaven's gate cult, why not just die now?! Do I quote you correctly word for word? This is what the auto subtitles come up with too. Do you really say "prize"? In fact I don't understand the whole section, I don't understand what you're trying to say with, "we'd prize simply devolve into something like a heaven's gate cult, why not just die now?! I just can't make sense out of it. I want to translate the sermon for a friend, so it's even more important that I get it right. Not a lot of point in getting it wrong. Much obliged father. In context to the sentences before this, he is saying that if our obstacle to heaven were only about death than there is no point in prolonging our life. But we live because of the value and necessity of suffering to gain Christ in life and death.
