Good morning Marci! Awesome, I rarely get to see a masculine journal made and I love all the fun stuff you have to work with. Hope your week is going good so far, take care. 💜
Yes, it's certainly easier to make feminine things, so I like to change things up once in awhile for the challenge. Mat stacks, mulberry papers and more - oh boy! 😃
hi my new sweet friend. it is so nice to meet you. I love how you made these pockets they turned out amazing. I do junk journaling and diamond painting. hope to watch more of your videos. hope you had a wonderful Memorial weekend. hugs and much love always 🌻💓🌹🙂🌞😁👍🌅❤️🌷
How fun!! I love those pockets!! So useful in lots of different crafting styles, too! Mount one of those pockets onto a flat surface, tuck some greenery into it, add a cute bead or fabric hanger and it’d make a super cute wall hanging! Or a birthday, wedding or graduation card with money or gift cards tucked in! Lots of ideas floating in my head! Thanks for the inspiration! ❤️
I love what you did today! These will be great masculine journals. I'm looking forward to seeing you make them and the pockets are beautiful! I love the vintage music you used today too.
Don't worry, Kathleen, I've blocked and reported this creeper. YOu can report any time as soon as you see spammers like this, on any channel. I never hesitate to report them. I have your back! 🥰
Good morning! Thanks for sharing these pockets. I have a started, far from finished, ideas book. I make something like one of these pockets and store it in my book. Then when I am ready to create a journal I can flip through for ideas.
The cover of that Baratine book is gorgeous 😍 I certainly would use that somehow if it were me 😉🙂 but it is going to be lovely I'm sure and good to experiment with your style
You know, I must've looked at that book 100 times and not really noticed the cover until you mentioned it. You're right, it's gorgeous! I don't know if it will make it into this journal, but that cover will definitely get used in something. 🥰
Fun pockets! I need to find some good double-sided papers for this. I love that glue; it’s made by Beacon, who makes Fabri-Tac. Unfortunately, I’m having a hard time finding it now at the Dollar Tree.
Im making a Marvel Journal for my son in law with just two signautres. One signature is of Ghostrider alone, the other signature is of other Marvel characters and i did throw in a few pics of my daughter and their dog. Its a fun journal. Im making simple pockets for several pages out of black cardstock and some with windows. Im almost done with the cutting and gluing of pages in the first signature. The second signature has all pics cut out and the gluing has begun. I haven't a clue what to put in tne pockets except for smaller pics of marvel characters asjkurnal cards and maybe tags. HELP. What on earth could i add to the pockets? Please i need this done before Christmas. Oh and im almost done with my daughters journal which still needs a fabric cover and all the see through beautiful wide ribbon pockets
Both of those journals sound amazing, Marlene! You've set yourself a challenge with the Marvel one though. 😉 What did you use as pages to make the signatures? Did they come from scrapbook paper or Marvel book pages? My initial thought (without having watched any Marvel movies) is that you could find some children's books at a thrift store and use the Marvel images to make journal cards and tags. Maybe visit the children's toy section to find game pieces or toys/card games to use as embellishments and ephemera. Possibly even small figures to use as dangles? Children's coloring books are good to use as pages or for finding images to turn into journal cards and pockets with unusual shapes. Perhaps you could incorporate theme colors of his favorite characters or use icons such as lightning bolts or winged helmets (I'm guessing here) - whatever might represent certain characters. If you found comic books you could use strips to decorate along the edge of some pages or make belly bands, tuck spots and clusters. In an unusual journal theme like this one, I feel that repetition is your friend, so if you use a larger image of a character in one spot, repeat it with a smaller image in another place. You could also repeat the Marvel logo throughout the journal to carry the theme. If you have stencils you could stencil patterns onto the pages that represent different elements within the story lines, such as brick, spider webs, space/stars, etc. I enjoy using a small stamp that goes along with what I'm making and stamping it throughout the journal. When I make Autumn journals, I use the same 2 little leaf stamps throughout. When I made the dinosaur journal, I had a small stamp of a dog bone so I used it to make borders along the pages or to add a touch of whimsey in the corner of a tag. That video might be a good one to watch because I made the dinosaur journal with very limited supplies so I had to be ultra-creative. It was so much fun to make! You can find it by going to my home page and visiting the Playlists section. It's under Journal Flip Through videos. I've not seen the Marvel movies, so I'm not sure who all of the characters are and I am unfamiliar with the story lines. (My hubby and I are probably the only two who haven't, LOL). However I hope this will help give you some ideas that you can run with. You've got this! 😊😊 💖💖
Love these pockets. They just might inspire a Pocket Wednesday! 😍
I can't wait to see what you do with these ideas! 🥰
Good morning Marci!

I need to make an idea book too. So far, everything is sitting in an ever growing pile. Glad you enjoyed the video today. 🥰

I had to ask at my DT. It seems that glue comes in irregularly. But they still carry it. Glad you liked the video! 🥰
