Londynn forgot and instead of submitting to her inner inner critic's expectation of perfectionism that is ingrained in women, she got right back up, persisted and finished even stronger. Mistakes are lessons especially when growing and pursuing your passion. When you're brave enough to get in that ring and pursue your goals, those who are too scared to do the same will try to tear you down for your mistakes that are required for growth and will rip you to pieces for choosing to rise above. They'll scrutinize your every move and your past struggles. That's my own personal take from Teyana's song and the performance w/ Londynn B especially means so much to me. I listened to it as I grew and still do.....when moving from tragic loss, hitting rock bottom chose to make something from multipe failures and tragedies and finding purpose by going to graduate school, and as I grew stronger than ever, the people I had hoped to celebrate my wins with started resenting me, including my own blood, for no longer fitting the role assigned to me that allowed them to capitalize off my pain and feel better about themselves for not being "the girl whose life-partner died and chose using to escape the pain" (and thats putting it nicely) to holding a postgraduate degree and becoming a psychotherapist to help and empower those who seek my services who are stuck in pain or crisis. My successes from posttraumatic growth are still dismissed in an attempt to take me down (and, again, even by my own blood) as I still make mistakes. But when I fall, I get back up and grow even stronger. Thats how I interpret the meaning of the lyrics at least. This song is my everything.
