Great history, especially family history for me. James and Benjamin Deal were my maternal fourth-cousins. My great-great-grandmother, Laura Deal-Neal (1879-1955) was the Deal Brothers’ aunt. Our lineage takes us back to Macon, Noxubee County, Mississippi. The Deal Brothers had eight more siblings - all of them were born to James C. Deal (1965-1944) and Martha (née Lovelace) Deal (1868-1916). The family moved to Murphysboro in the early 1920s and never looked back to the segregated South. My Deal family ancestors loved their adoptive city and the residents of Murphysboro loved them too. Again, thank you for this beautiful and well-needed history on the Bald Knob Cross of Peace Foundation. Peace and blessings.

I've been to the cross ✝️ it's beautiful, the scenery is a gift from god.there is a gift shop, the people are very kind,I'm sure the little shop helps to support the care and maintenance. I'd like to suggest to anyone ,please make a donation.God Bless.

I live in Marion. I always visit it in the early spring when no one is around. I'm a loner and it's my way of making peace with God. And I praise my lord for this place.

This is awesome! I just posted a video a week ago at sunset and it caused me to discover you have your own channel. Love the snow scene!
