Lincoln came back home to Alaska this past summer for the Love Alaska by Luis Palau and debut this song to all of us and I fell in love with this song right away! He has so much energy and he is so inspiring! God has given Lincoln a amazing gift and I am so thankful that he shares it with all of us. I am so proud of him! God had bigger plans for him and I am so thankful that he listened to the Holy Spirit and did as he was led to do! Thank you for sharing Lincoln! Alaska is a big state, and even if you no longer live in the place you were born and grew up in, you will always be an Alaskan! Blessings Lincoln to you and your family. I pray that your wife is healing well and thank you for sharing your story with us!
Scripture says we should always make good use of our gifts from HIM and definitely is the group using their gifts to keep close to HIM as HEWILL NEVER LEAVE US!
Agree, love the harmony vocals, nice to hear Lincoln's chorus straight up, not processed. I do miss the mandolin or what instrument does the fast shuffle during the chorus.... that instrument glues the vibe of the chorus, for me. regaaaaaaadless, this sounds TIGHT!!

The last time I remember "You's name was Jesus Christ but not once in the song is his name acknowledged almost as though this song was written not so much as a worship song to praise the Lord Jesus but so that this song could be played on secular radio without offending anyone. I don't like songs where although the praise is supposed to be to Jesus not once is his name mentioned. Maybe this song can be played on secular radio and not offend anyone with the name of Jesus and become popular and make Licoln Brewster more money that way. To me the song is too generic.
That is always a valid concern with Christian songs. However, "Jesus Christ" must NOT just be a tag line for songs that cue people into "This is a Christian song". This song, in context with the artists' hearts, their confession of faith, and where it's played, can make a great impact -- even more than putting "Jesus Christ" in the song and just having it played by itself. You have to take the song in context.
Steve, as a songwriter I appreciate the thought behind your comment. However, I would ask you to consider this. When someone writes a song, they are usually drawing from something that has inspired them. There is a message, lesson, or experience that impacted their life enough to cause them to invest the time and energy to capture that moment. At a minimum, a well written song can give us a glimpse of what the writer experienced; at best it can inspire us to experience it too. If that songwriter is a genuine Christian, you are likely getting a glimpse into a very personal conversation they are having with their creator. It is difficult to guess a person's motives, whether they are a songwriter or someone leaving a comment on a message board. I think it is more productive to listen to a song with an ear that makes Jesus the hero and assumes the best of the person who created it. I think if we can do that, everybody wins. For those who aren't believers who hear a song like this, we can trust that God is sovereign and will extend grace to them when it is their time to understand.

You are not God and do not have the first clue what is/was in his heart when he wrote the song and it it's quite presumptuous to pretend you do. Secondly let us take your logic and apply it to Scripture itself. That is let's take out all the verses in the Bible that do not directly contain the name of Jesus Christ. Your Bible would not be very big. The point is it is a completely arbitrary and ridiculous standard to state that since the song , or verse or whatever does not contain the name Jesus Christ that it somehow has no value or is not truly honoring God. You might want to reassess your critical standards.

Listen to the bridge (the middle portion of the song after the chorus - 2:25) where the simple phrase refers to salvation. And yes, he repeats it twice (for emphasis). You are my salvation I will not fear You're the strength of my life I won't fear I immediately think of verses such as Isaiah 41:10... Psalm 73:26... Psalm 3:3. Many Psalms written by David recognize it's the Lord whom provides salvation, strength, peace. So please don't nit pick this song.
