  • Eden Park has always been a community asset for Tāmaki Makaurau and a strategic asset for Aotearoa New Zealand. Eden Park 2.0, the future of our national stadium will not only benefit sports and entertainment fans but also contribute to the economic growth of the country.
    Offering increased capacity and an enhanced experience, this vision builds on our strong legacy and reputation as an iconic stadium venue and popular destination for a diverse range of events.
    Eden Park is our place; it’s been part of our past for 120 years, and it will be part of our future.

    Looks great!
    Just get it done, and don’t piss around thinking about it for 2 years.

    Needs to happen, but at least fill in the gaps on the second tier, maybe it could increase the capacity to 68,000

      If only we could have 4 venues that could host over 40k population we might get fifa World Cup with Aussies in future

    This looks genuinely incredible, I never thought Eden park would be getting an upgrade this good but if there's a proposal with this much thought into then it must have a good chance of happening. Auckland is only getting bigger and it will need a world class stadium to match it, having an indoor arena this large means we will finally be able to host events like UFC and Boxing, also being able to have concerts inside is very important considering how ridiculous Auckland forever changing weather can be!
    PS. Eden park needs to also take back control of it's stadium from it's moany residents, it should be able to host as many events as it likes, people living near the stadium know what they are in for ffs

    May as well build a brand new one in a different location. It’ll probably cost the same.

    This should of been done back in 2011. The anesthetics of Eden park is horrible and looks unfinish with 4 different stand. I hope this north stand will be the same as the south stand

      Agreed. They should have done it right the first time and needs to be done now instead of just talking and arguing about it for decades.

      Typical of New Zealand though. Start something and never finish it. Make it look cheap but cost 3726462 times the budget then fail to complete it.

    Should have either done this back in 2008 09 before the 2011 rwc or made that waterfront stadium. Doing this now is a waste. Besides the all blacks eden park never sells out. Also why a new east stand..when doing the redevelopment they should have destoryed that god awful west stand and made an identical stand to the east. Then all was needed were a new north stand and roof

    Looks great but it’s in the wrong location. This is what the waterfront stadium should be. Bite the bullet and sell off Eden Park to fund the waterfront stadium. You guys at the Eden Park trust board can be on the board to run the waterfront stadium. Stop trying to play your provincialist games

    • @ryanator109
      @ryanator109 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What is the obsession with the waterfront stadium? You realise the huge cost it would be to build it while we have a perfectly good stadium already which has history and close enough to the city already.

    It appears you have not consulted with your neighbours at all! I live and own one the houses in Sandringham road and it looks like you are going to be building a bridge very close to my house. This will remove what little sunlight I get as a south facing property. Surely as a show of good faith you could of discussed this with us first? I will fight this to the bitter end.

      Don't worry, there is zero chance of this becoming reality. It's a billion dollar plus project for an asset that is already massively in debt

    • @ryanator109
      @ryanator109 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      YOU are part of the problem ffs, this stadium upgrade would benefit so many people but your selfish enough to think that your priorities are more important, this stadium will be here much longer than you will be. Think about the bigger picture mate and I hope this goes through as it looks like an awesome project!

    • @Skybar23
      @Skybar23 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@ryanator109 ditto....I think this why many projects that develop this city gets rejected because of selfish households who cant see the bigger picture...many global cities didnt get where they are today without small sacrifices
