God opened my eyes to see the false doctrines of the mormon church I was raised in. All mormons need to study the entire Bible but specifically Hebrews and Galatians!! They explain the true gospel!

Basically the Rich Man asked Jesus “what can I do to get saved?” which means the Rich Man is relying on himself to gain entrance to Heaven. The problem with that thinking is you put your works, good and bad, over God for salvation. You see, only God forgives your sins, just as the Pharisees questioned Jesus for forgiving sins in Luke 5:21. It is by faith through grace that will save you, the Rich Man got the message that he can’t be saved by his own works when Jesus asked him to give his riches to the poor, to prove the Rich Man’s love for his neighbor. To put it in short, if we follow the Law we may be condemned because we’ve already broken the law, but faith in Jesus will save you, for he finished his work on the cross, so all may be saved.
@@KdcitizenI don’t think Jesus saw the rich man giving up his wealth to prove he loved his neighbor, but rather to trust Jesus instead of what he was trusting- his wealth. In ancient times, good fortune was seen as an earthly reward or sign of approval from God. Think of the blind man. The disciples asked who had sinned, the blind man or his parents. Or read Job. Point is the answer to, “What must I do to receive eternal life?” is TRUST JESUS.
Those who have not accepted Jesus are still lost in sin. Many who preach water baptism are saved- just wrong in this doctrine. Baptism is an outer action that reflects a new birth. It does not save, but is a response to being saved.

Is "what must I do to be saved such a bad" question ? That was the question asked by the jailer and Paul and Silas answered "Believe in the Lord etc "

What is Paul and Saul before and after did he changed his name?
A new name for a new creature in Christ. Saul became Paul after he was born again. Paul carries the meaning of small or humble.
What about Obedience?
We should be obedient BECAUSE we have been saved.
