I heard city officials proposed some mega brothel project and do away with De Wallen and 2 other RLDs. Mainly De Wallen due to over-tourism, alas hurting the bottomline, and "clean" the area for boutique reasons.
I haven't heard any suggestions that the other 2 RLDS would close. However if tourists start going to them instead in large numbers I guess they might. There's still a huge way to go before the erotic centre is built and opens so nothing much is changing for a few years anyway.
