Ah, maintenance, one of the keys to life. We all need good maintenance in our lives, on our bodies, our pets, our homes, our relationships and our vehicles, just to name a few. keep up the good work!
@@mikeholmes5824It's great to here from you Mike. Yes, I'm still breathing and the air up here in Beaverton is cool and nice. Not missing that Redding heat at all. I think the last time we talked was at Winco. Hope you are doing good! I see you are keeping up with Dave and Carrie's advantures. I never miss an episode, they are so good. Take care Mike!
Thank you, James. We appreciate the support of you watching one of our maintenance videos without evening owning a Promaster. You give me hope that someday this channel might fully support our van lifestyle. Consider this comment a handshake and a thank you.
I was the 1000th like on that video! Yeeeeeeeh 🙂. But what makes me more happy is to see you happy guys, helping us out with some good explanations. Nicely done!
I replaced mine thanks to your demonstration! AND I saw that my air in tank hose was disconnected from the engine! Apparently this is common! SO yall check that out other PM owners!🎉 The screw to tighten the clamp is in an awkward spot (thanks RAM!) that even the mechanics are too lazy to deal with it! (That is from mechanic commenters!)
Thank you for subscribing to our channel! We are planing a video on how we change the oil soon and any other repairs that are needed along the way. Take care and have a great day.
+cesalt Very welcome! Promasters are know to have headlights go out often and ours burned out again. So that might be coming soon. Quick easy dyi fix that will save you around 100 dollars each time😀
@@oneadVANtureatatime I haven't seen anybody mention that before about the headlights or $$, so that would be a great addition for the community. Keep 'em coming!
Dave and Carrie, y’all are easy to watch and your videos really are very good. I tell friends about your channel cuz I really think you should have thousands more viewers. So they will come in time. 👍🏻😊 thanks for your kind words🙏
Thank you very much! This video, along with your others, has helped me maintain my Promaster. Your style of teaching is excellent and so is the video work!
Thank you! We just finished an oil change video to be added in the next couple of weeks and today we put out our seat swivel video. Take care and thanks again for your kind comment.
Thanks for another great video. I replaced both my filters following your video. Worked out perfect. I found a way to use a straight Philips head. If you remove the plastic grate from the intake just above it (2 philips head screws) you can now get a screwdriver to stand up straight and unscrew normally. I know it's 2 more screws but it allows you to remove the screws so much faster.
+Ron Gehlken Very welcome! We hope to do a headlamp replacement video soon. Our driver side low beam is out again. The dealership wants nearly 100 dollars for the job lol
Thank you for good clear directions gonna save some $$ & DIY it because of this video 👍 BTW found you via your oil change vid! So glad I did! I’ve got a Travato on a ‘16 Ram Promaster
Right on Cathy! This is good motivation for us to keep the maintenance videos coming. Our main content is free camping but we try to show our repairs as they come up. 😎
Wow, you have saved me!! $100 for each headlamp on one of your previous videos! and now you're teaching how to change the air filter - dealers here in NJ charge $100-150, and the engine filter who knows how much, some astronomical amount. I am van rich but cash poor. Just lost my job. Do you have a video on how to do a transmission fluid change, an oil change, and a coolant change? These are next on my agenda. I live in my van and have never done any mechanical work. I appreciate your videos so much. Thanks and keep 'em coming! 🤩
Thank you so much! I plan on doing videos on all three of those. It might be some time( a few months) as I need to find a job myself 😆 Thank you again for all the kind words, that's the kinda inspiration I need to make more. Take care and good luck with the job search.
Thanks for much for the video. Jiffy Lube said they wouldn't check it because it was too difficult, but I think it was more that they didn't have the filter in stock. With your video, it wasn't hard at all to change both filters. I have a Thor Sequence built on the RAM 3500 chassis.
Hi John. We are happy to help. I just googled ”Thor Sequence” builds and I must say they look sweet! I hope you have a great time exploring the country. If you are looking for free places to camp please check out our other videos. That's our specialty. 😀
How many miles do you have on your promaster now? It looks as if you are running Dino oil rather than synthetic. Might I ask why? The price between the two is fairly small now. Do you wait for the change oil light to come on to change your oil or do you change it more frequently than that? Also, what kind of MPG do you get on the road and at what speed? What wheelbase and weight rating is your promaster? Any issues with your promaster so far? Thanks and Cheers, Vic
Followed your link to XC10257 Ecoguard cabin filter. Amazon says it is a fit for the Promaster, but unfortunately not. Not square. Has 25-degree angle on one end. Will try to find another source. Amazon pic shows square. Perhaps they just put the wrong filter in the box. Off to Ebay, since Amazon messed up. EDIT: Filter you linked came with instructions that say this filter is located at the glove box - Promaster forum says no way, even a type in the manual. Good news engine air filter fit great.
@@oneadVANtureatatime The Air engine filter yes, the cabin filter no, but for that money no big deal. Surprised that my engine air cleaner wasn't very dirty.
You bet! Next time I change the air filter I am replacing the screws with stainless steel ones. The stock screws rust and get tougher to remove as time goes on.
You are the go-to couple for ProMaster. Thank you for what you produce.
+WVevie thank you so much!!! Best comment ever!!!
@@oneadVANtureatatime I just bought my 2018 and your detail in the videos is great.

You are very welcome! I do have a couple in the planning stages we need to do 😀
Thank you for doing this. Our dealer wanted waayyy too much $ for doing this simple procedure. Nice filming!
I don't have a Promaster but I like the way you did the video.
