i will give curry & thompson credit for being more aggressive. however, what I saw defensively from the cavs, the awareness was not there like it should've been; even from the start; guys were not rotating or sticking their man when needed to which lead to open shots; in the second half, guys were not boxing out en route to giving the warriors second chance opportunities. despite curry and thompson having a better game, I stand by the fact that the cavs shoved aside opportunity after opportunity on both ends to win the game. the crazy thing about it is that I still believe they can win next game; that if is that they can adjust and make amends for what they should've done this game. every opportunity they get next game, they cannot take it for granted like they did this game. #gocavs #letsgetit
I don't think you understand how difficult it is to play the kind of defense the Cavs play on Curry and Thompson. You need to have the stamina and concentration to play that way for 48 minutes, when fatigue starts to set in, players start making more mistakes which gives Curry and Thompson the openings they need. Once they see one or two go in, it is over for the defense. I think what hurt the Cavs more was the isolation basketball they started to play in the third quarter, it made them more predictable and easier to defend, it also sucked the energy out of the role players.

Kyrie crossed curry a couple of times, but curry did a decent job on him. The warriors don't defend Kyrie the same way the cavs defend curry. As important as Klay Thompson is, he is no Lebron James. I can't even imagine what curry would average if he had a Lebron James on his team. You wouldn't be able to trap and double him as much because that leaves a opening for Lebron to exploit with his passing and ability to attack the basket, curry is also a smarter basketball player than Irving, so he would make quicker adjustments to the defense.

i will give curry & thompson credit for being more aggressive. however, what I saw defensively from the cavs, the awareness was not there like it should've been; even from the start; guys were not rotating or sticking their man when needed to which lead to open shots; in the second half, guys were not boxing out en route to giving the warriors second chance opportunities. despite curry and thompson having a better game, I stand by the fact that the cavs shoved aside opportunity after opportunity on both ends to win the game. the crazy thing about it is that I still believe they can win next game; that if is that they can adjust and make amends for what they should've done this game. every opportunity they get next game, they cannot take it for granted like they did this game. #gocavs #letsgetit
I don't think you understand how difficult it is to play the kind of defense the Cavs play on Curry and Thompson. You need to have the stamina and concentration to play that way for 48 minutes, when fatigue starts to set in, players start making more mistakes which gives Curry and Thompson the openings they need. Once they see one or two go in, it is over for the defense. I think what hurt the Cavs more was the isolation basketball they started to play in the third quarter, it made them more predictable and easier to defend, it also sucked the energy out of the role players.
+Nostalgic Bliss coming into the third, Cleveland lead by 8 with tech. shot then a layup. in that quarter alone, 6 3s were made. why? because defensive guys were unnecessarily mis-handling screens then unnecessarily double-teaming; as a result, leaving guys opportunities to shoot. skip to curry's 3rd quarter and you see what im talking about.
Lue is an average coach. He could of built a fast paced offensive beast team. None of these guys in cavs play decent D anyway.

I can't even imagine what curry would average if he had a Lebron James on his team. You wouldn't be able to trap and double him as much because that leaves a opening for Lebron to exploit with his passing and ability to attack the basket, curry is also a smarter basketball player than Irving, so he would make quicker adjustments to the defense.
