Me and my friend playing the Arrival of Queen of Sheba duet for piano by George Frideric Handel. Also, check out my piano school's website at www.theinternat...
Since this account was hacked, I hope to give some updates on these two former teenagers as the proud father of the boy: 1. The boy and the girl won 2014 and 2015 two years in a row the state and regional levels of Music Teachers of National Association (MTNA) competition and represented the South Central division of the MTNA Natioanl Convention in the Chicago and Las Vegas Competitions ( www.theinternationalmusicacademy.com/student-achievement/student-achievements/ ) under the guidance of Dr. Matthew Loudermilk. 2. The boy and the girl held a charitable concert in 2015 and raised $17,000 for Make-A-Wish Foundation ( abc13.com/hobbies/teens-piano-duet-performance-to-benefit-charity/335800/ ). 3. The boy is now a junior college student at a prestigious business school in New York City. 4. The girl is now a sophomore at one of Ivy League Colleges on the East coast. 5. None of them plays piano anymore due to busy college studying. 6. For any of those people who wants to know the details about this music piece, you can contact Dr. Loudermilk ( hello@theinternationalmusicacademy.com ). 7. Finally they are still proud Americans as well as proud Texans.
Ah, the Weismann arrangement, me and a friend played this for some bodies 80th birthday a few weeks ago. Damned difficult, took weeks to learn and I only had the accompaniment part!
This is Weismann's transcription - it's No 107 from Edition Peters...be warned, though - it is tricky in places! My advice is to follow Weismann's fingering however bizarre it may seem at the time you first have a go. These two have played it extremely well with only very few errors, an extremely creditable performance and definitely worthy of showing it off on here! Well done.
That’s 12 years ago. Perhaps by now the two kids are father and mother, and preparing to teach their children to play this wonderful piece of music on piano 😊
This video was posted in 2011, almost 14 years ago. They WERE kids then but by now they could have become father and mother and have their own kids. This is what I was talking about.
Incomparable and splendor and exquisite and wonderful . From chaotic Tokyo of the Land of the Rising Sun where people are hustle and bustle with increasing Coronavirus infection .
Very well played, you two. Lovely. A few technical errors in the Wiessmann transcription but I soooooooooooo prefer yours to Lin and Han. You play with far more understanding of the dynamics and lyricism than they do. I love this posting, keep playing..!
One of my favorite compositions! So celebratory! We are using it in our wedding recessional. I’ve never heard it with piano only, and it was terrific as a duet with these two talented young pianists!
Talented kids! (Well...young adults by now.) I don't know who else feels the same, but it sure gives you hope seeing talented young people performing something like this, rather than playing video games and endlessly texting. I sense two pairs of good, loving parents who encouraged two talented kids.
Brilliant! I especially like the countermelody at 2.50.But why does everyone play it so ridiculously FAST!!?? Think of the context, on stage. She's a QUEEN for Heaven's sake! Imagine our late Queen making an entrance like this! And the solos would have been played by 2 trumpets, of course: THAT's how King Solomon would have welcomed a Queen. A tip from an old hand: when a bar is repeated 3 times, make it a perceptibly LOUDER each time. ("Terrace Dynamics" Manchester University 1954). Still, a very commendable effort by 2 splendid youngsters.
have heard this video some months ago the first time. have heard it in hospital during my stay on ICU after a severe accident. it was the first piece of music i have heard after so many days of only alarm calls from the medical equipment. great feelings and a lot of tears because of the nameless happiness.
@@davelee8961 even 18 months after my severe accident i feel some pain, but each time i am reminded to this great video, close my eyes, smile and pain fades out
Frédéric Labarre the arrangement is by W Weismann - I have a copy of it (and yes, I do know that because I was reading the score whilst watching the video)
David G. EXCELLENT job, great talent! Who is the nut crinkling paper or some such noise that distracts from the performance? Someone should have discreetly told him/her to stop, or else LEAVE!
I honestly didn't expect them to be this good. I smiled at the young girls uncomfortable smirk when everybody applauded. These children are clearly talented, good for them...
Bravo, pianists! I heard so many performances on TH-cam where the tempo was too slow and the 16th notes very uneven. And those were adult pianists! Congratulations on your fine, spirited performance! This is such a terrific piano duet when played well.
This is an outstanding performance.
I wouldn't call it outstanding. It's very good, and not really much more. Not flawless, either. Still, lots of respect :)
so young, and so talented.
well done to both of you, you should feel proud of this.

Awesome!! The tempo is 'spot on IMO' Hope these two are now on the way to becoming professionals as they sure deserve to, with this performance!!
This is my favorite handel piece. I really enjoyed the piano duet version. Very dramatic playing. Great job.:)

Best piano version on the web, period. So much life and verve. Really impressive for kids so young. I guess they aren't so young anymore!
Well, young piano friends. The two of you,s are just AWESOME.
Love this. It was played when I walked down the Isle.
Oh,my God!! I'm breathless! You are great! Congratulations from Italy

How long did it take you to learn it? You're amazing btw!!
Such wonderful talent!

nice and very good. This composition I played on a Dutch organ.
Absolutely terrific !. This really “Stomps Along”. Beautifully Played. Very Enjoyable ! .

Wow, you two are playing here a wonderful peace of music. Wish, I could play piano like you but I think, it is to late :-)
never too late
Beautifully played! Both of you are magnificent young pianists.

Absolutely brilliant - Tony
Prefer this to seasoned professionals such as Trevor Pinnock - more refreshing, more giddy and exuberant!
Thank you for this interpretation. It is awsome.
Fantastic! So impressive! But…rushed, rushed, rushed. Primo was about a half beat ahead of Secundo most of the way through it.
two teenagers playing such music the queen of sheba will enjoy it where ever she is
Kathy and I had this at our wedding, she came up the aisle to this on organ. A very special memory relived by your beautiful playing.
Just superb. Thank you for posting this. Two wonderfully talented people.
Refined talent in the ranks of youth gives me hope in a hopeless world. Fantastic performance! Sharp young people!
Absolutely lovely!
Their specutacular performance is beyond description , inspirational , unfathomable , graceful and comfortable to the ear and the mind
Who are these young pianists and since it’s been posted years ago, any updates on their progress?
Thanks for asking and just posted the updates on these two former teenagers
Such a shame about the background noise.

지금도 가끔 찾아듣는 명연주. 저 두 사람도 어른이 됐고 지금 아딘가에서 아름다운 선율을 들려주고 있으리라 생각합니다. ❤

GENIUS!
I am married to a piano teacher so familiar with good playing but that was superb. Thank you for sharing from New Zealand
Absolutely impressive!!!
I see in the comments that this was arranged by Brian Esdale. Can you tell me where you got this arrangement?
Beyond AWESOME!!!!!.....way BEYOND!!!!!!!!! 👍❤️👍❤️👍❤️👍❤️👍❤️👍❤️👍❤️👍❤️👍❤️👍❤️👍❤️👍❤️
Bravissimi❤❤❤❤❤
very talented but I'm just going to say that it was made for orchestras and sounds better in the orchestra version
This is indeed very nice...can you share with me the score for this two piano arrangement....thank you!
Bravo
I honestly didn't expect them to be this good. I smiled at the young girls uncomfortable smirk when everybody applauded. These children are clearly talented, good for them...
I'd love one day for my (baby) boys to play together like the two of you! Wonderful.
Beautiful!
Bravissimo!!!!🎉
This is my favorite piano rendition of Arrival of the Queen of Sheeba. Very talented young people!
i dont know who was the queen of sheba but handel did great music about her
Beutiful
Very lively & spritely played. Very nice. I enjoyed it.
Nicely done! What transcription are you using (i.e. by whom is it transcribed)?
I KNOW THIS GUY
Good old Handel, one of the greatest of the great!
I don't get it,there's another piano on the left...right?
Yeah there's an extra piano for duos where they each use their own pianos but this was a duet which means they use the same piano and it's on the left
Or for what I call a quadroo (not actual name) where there are two pianos and there is a duet on both
Mutants... very talented lil mutants lol
Well done, ---Bravo from New Zealand
Wonderful, beautiful 😁😁😁
Never gets old just wonderful
Bravo, pianists! I heard so many performances on TH-cam where the tempo was too slow and the 16th notes very uneven. And those were adult pianists! Congratulations on your fine, spirited performance! This is such a terrific piano duet when played well.
