I've never ever heard 4 saxophones play so perfectly in tune. The precision and control here has me bewildered.

Superb! The comment about their dresses is of course totally irrelevant, close to stupidity. Just listen to these four amazing women playing this wonderful Sinfonia from Händel's Solomon. Their dynamics are great, they're all masters of their instruments. Listen and consider yourself lucky that you've found this absolute beauty on the internet.
The interesting is that they aren't wearing black as most of the people who play classical music, they're beautiful in colored clothes.

@@WetaMantis The work from which it comes ('Solomon') is indeed an oratorio, but this is the purely orchestral intro to Act III. As Mr. Spock once said, "For the moment my logic is intact".

Yes, well that's because we are outcasts from an orchestra. This piece was obviously an arrangement transposed for a sax quartet. We don't just belong in marching bands ;o ... We're kind of used to it, In fact we count years differently. There's music from Before Sax Era (BSE) such as this piece, And well... Glad you liked it Joseph, I did also.
Music from a German, living in Britain, played by Russians on instruments invented in Belgium on a USA sharing platform.
The best of all worlds combined. Humanity will be OK if we don't destroy it ourselves.

the classical music world would have been very lonely and insipid ,
and the enjoyment and pleasures of the classical music would have been less
Hurrah! What a wonderful performance! Dear performers! I congratulate and wish you all the best to perform well in more and more pieces like this. When all the four of you simultaneously play it gives the effect of playing duplication of same copy of melody on both upper and lower octave with addition of two more notes in between ( both of the hands) on foot-pumped harmonium. I like such effects.

Saxophones are amazing. You hear hints of other instruments throughout the arrangement and they are so expressive. I think this wouldn't sound right with a group of clarinets, for example, but even though the sax was invented much later than this music was written, it somehow still sounds perfectly fine with them.
Maestro_T interesting to speculate on what Handel and Bach would have produced for a Sax quartet......
Exactly; at 0:51, when the tenor and baritone saxophone begin soloing, one can clearly hear cellos and double basses too.
@@zvonimirtosic6171 Agreed, there is also something about the "attack" of the saxophone (or at least how they are playing it here) that seems to approximate the fat, bouncy, soft sound you can get from a bow. Obviously kind of hard to put into words but I think you will know what I mean. A bassoon, by comparison, would have a sharper sound--more articulate but less smooth and string-sounding.
