  • Jim called in with a great question. He only puts about 3,000 miles on his car a year, and wanted to know if its ok to only change the oil annually. Take and look and see what Bobby had to say.

I have a 2002 Chevy Silverado 4.3l and 138000 miles. I drive daily, but short trips mostly.... between 300 to 400 miles a month! I use full synthetic and change my oil every 6 months! I welcome comments and recommendations! Cheer's

I run my Honda Odyssey 06 on conventional oil and do oil changes once in a year with 3000 miles on the odometer even though the oil life stays at 40% most times before the change. Now the question is, am I safe doing that?

12,000 miles is only half the mileage most people run in a year. That would be no good for a year that oil.
