So many people from call this guy fat/chubby they keep on hating yet they don't realize he's still standing at the top #1 of North America, and he still was able to win despite an injury, yall better put some respect on Eugene
Paul Chang imo even an easy point like a missed return, unreturned flick, or service error on one of the last points (or any) adds context and tension. Especially if one of the players has been struggling with a certain serve.
Eugene did a good job of changing the pace and placement of the ball so that Kanoya would make errors or be caught off balance during his super fast attack. Eugene definitely got lucky on some crucial net/edges tho
@Sevron Ghee what are you smokin' mate? Comparing this average blocker to Samsonov and OSE who play or played generally against topmost players in the world? Do you even understand the difference in levels? I bet this fat dude won't be able to win a single set against Samsonov or OSE in his prime.
@Sevron Ghee lol, dude, you're triggered af. I have seen Wang play in European league. The way you went gaga about Wang's blocking skills against this weak low ranked Japanese player, and went as far as rating his blocking skills better than Samsonov and Oh, only proves that you are either a fanboy or do not understand the quality of topspin from top Chinese players and top 20 players against whom Samsonov and Oh habitually play or played. And seeing your comment that Wang has "TT IQ" much higher than Samsonov, I just laughed so hard. This claim is not even debate worthy!
I thought Ryohei tactics of targeting the middle was a good shout, but far too many shots across the diagonal making him too predictable. I think middle then down the lines would of forced Wang off the table. Excellent game against two different styles.
I really don't understand why people are obsessed with commenting that the best player in the world would beat almost everyone else. Isn't that obvious? In any case Eugene Wang beat Fang Bo in 2015, the same year he came very close to winning the World Championship.
Duh, such negative tactics to win match. While I love watching solid blockers and counter attackers like Samsonov or Sang Eun, this Eugene dude is just unbearable with his play style. He may be good for N. America, but not good enough to compete in the world level.
I disagree, Wang's forehand was very controlled with great accuracy and his ability to adapt and hit quick counters with very little back swing was world class.
I think this demonstrates that players don't need to have excellent technique to become an expert at table tennis. I can only think of a few that do have the perfect Ma Long semi circles on their fh and bh. But in my opinion not a requirement.
The video quality is outstanding. ITTF should learn from this.
They should but you know they won't.
Yea! My eyes had to adjust to the clarity. Haha
It's a shame the audio quality is so bad.
@@enthymeme4856 It's not the greatest but it's at least in sync with the action, which is more than I can say for some of the ITTF videos.
Good speed, great bh by japan player
An example for how to film table tennis!
Enjoyed every second of it. Congratulations to Eugene! So happy to see you win! Great mental toughness
This was such a good match. I need to take notes on Eugene's block.
Thanks for the great coverage throughout. Awesome final!!

@Sevron Ghee ...and took 2 sets from Fan Zhendong - th-cam.com/video/y4EpYohBOUE/w-d-xo.html
He might be #1 but he is still chubby
@@Hello-eh1iy Imagine how good he'd be with conditioning. dude has mad talent.
@@Hello-eh1iy kung fu Panda is also chubby and yet the strongest ^^
@Sevron Ghee He also beat Fang Bo in a tournament once
These angles: 0:20, 0:43, 2:47, 1:34, 6:33.
Amazing quality!
Hello, ITTF!
More of this, please, please! These images are beautiful.
Honestly I would love to watch this on live TV
Great quality.
But why not show the 10-10 point? You need to quickly look at the score to realize they skipped a point and its match point.
Because it was an easy point so it has been edited

@@ppaul456tw I understand.
@@gobias6 I agree.
Blocking is awesome.
Awesome match. At first I thought Wang's backhand was going to let him down. But it turned out that his backhand punch down the line was pivotal.
Really impressed by the quality of play. Congrats to both players
Beautiful camera quality, fun match too. Great fun
I'm now a Eugene Wong fan. Dope.
Eugene did a good job of changing the pace and placement of the ball so that Kanoya would make errors or be caught off balance during his super fast attack. Eugene definitely got lucky on some crucial net/edges tho
These guys are insanely good...
Loved watching Eugene play at edgeball 2018!
Eugene is great player here in Canada lot experience no surprises if he win the title
Truly liked the video. 🖤
Ryohei should hit the ball wide left and right and make Eugene run, since running is probably not his strength
He seemed to be scared of Eugene's forehand. 🤔. I say make him hit the forehand he seems to have a knee brace for a reason
try doing that and then get it by the biggest forehand you’ve witnessed in your life😂😂
Good quality video
Where does Kanoya rank inside the Japanese national team?
very nice. what a match.
This was great!
What was the prize money?
60,000 dollars I think
this is good. table tennis in 30 fps is just unwatchable
Where is kanak?
Lost. I think to this Japanese guy?
Out during round of 16 I think
Is there a video of the match on TH-cam?
Fun match! A lot of variation.
Beautiful match!
Those lucky points at 5th game really pain in the ass for Kanoya...
Amazing match! But I think the blue guy needs to work on his footwork 🤨
este jugador eugene es super
We prefer playing table tennis with beer bottles instead of rackets 🏓 😁
Hello from Vietnam
Hello from California.

close match although Wang won the 6th game by a large margin
canadian waldner
Let's hope he can get back to the top 60s in the world. He had to battle injuries for the last little bit. Noted the knee brace he wore.
@Sevron Ghee are you serious? He was blocking real average shots.. He would not block one shot that samsonov usually blocks.
@Sevron Ghee what are you smokin' mate? Comparing this average blocker to Samsonov and OSE who play or played generally against topmost players in the world? Do you even understand the difference in levels? I bet this fat dude won't be able to win a single set against Samsonov or OSE in his prime.

Oh definitely. He anticipated all his blocks and he executed them with intention and aggression. In that aspect he was very Waldner like.
I can play but not at the pace they do, its crazy.
9:09 a koala bear trying to fly. Nice win though
Yo what did he say at 3:05
wow that was close

途中まで鹿屋さんをButterflyの方の人だと思ってました。ついでに鹿屋さんじゃなくて亀屋さんだと思ってました。
That 2nd Game Should have been taken by Eugene. Lost 10-6 game
日本人がアメリカで修行?してるのおもしろい。

anyone know wang eugene equipment?tq
Wang: Viscaria and tenergy (not sure which one). Hanoya: Timo Ball ALC and tenergy 05
I heard he uses hurricane on both sides now
Kung Fu Panda of Table Tennis
It just doesn't get any better.....
Fzd... Ma long... Xu xin.. Timo.. Harimoto... Maybe are just a tiny bit better...
Tiny.....??!!
That's a no no!
great
Eugene is no nice. How he was excited with the win.
Great footage but ma long would mop the floors with these two
Ma Long is the #1 player in the world, I'd certainly hope so.
That's why Ma Long isn't here
I really don't understand why people are obsessed with commenting that the best player in the world would beat almost everyone else. Isn't that obvious? In any case Eugene Wang beat Fang Bo in 2015, the same year he came very close to winning the World Championship.
None of them would stand a chance against MaLong, or Fan Zhendong.
잘친다 ㅎㅎ
오..
How can u win with such a body? :D He is kinda slow. Anyway nice blocks.
Eugene wang is so Canadian, apologizes on hit points
Congrats. EW!
I find it boring? Or im just expecting too much. Its boring lol
