- Together myself and eBay Uk are building our 3rd Star Wars creation, we've made a huge AT-ACT Playhouse, a FULL SIZE Tie Silencer and now to celebrate the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker - Luke Skywalker’s Landspeeder from the first film, A New Hope.
But out of Metal........This is no easy task.

This was a MONSTER Task, theres been fibreglass speeders but never a steel one so some new metal working skills needed to be found but what a build, I'm super pleased with this and didn't want to paint it haha. I came here to post that.
Pulse jets require forward speed to work. Small turbines would be a much better choice and are readily available.

The magic of video editing makes it look so simple - however this is absolutely SHIT loads of work .

Idk even with sped up video and splicing this still look like an absolutely insane amount of work. All that shaping...welding....grinding...piece after piece! I was cringing watching the video knowing that this task must of been bonkers :/ ive done house projects that don’t seem bad in theory but take foreeeever. This looks 1,000x worse haha

Data Banks - Definitely faster to buy instead of build one, you just don't know how long it takes because it's edited down. Also cheaper. And easier.
If in some parallel universe it was easier, cheaper, and faster to make one instead of strip a made one, and he bought one just to plug his sponsor.. then... Okay? Like, his sponsor is kinda, you know, paying him. it's how he has the money to make these videos. People should never get mad at a creator for having a sponsor, because with out sponsorship, you probably wouldn't have a creator
This makes you appreciate how much effort was put into the creation of Star Wars

The fact that Colin still does all these projects in his shed(s) is amazing. Most would have built a big shop by now and lose the authentic feel of an at home engineer.

Huge difference between 18 gauge Industrial stainless and 22 gauge stainless. Don't work with metal do you? Would you like each truck to take a week to build each body? It could be done but the cost to benefit ratio is terrible.
Credit where credit is do. This was a really cool build. Extremely labor intensive.

very impressive CraftsmanshipColin that was smart doing it in sections like you did my deceased Grandfather was a Body and Fender man in the 1930s and 40s before bondo he did everything by hammer and dollies and leaded it all then switched over to Welding full time Untill he was in his 70s and forced to retire he didn’t want to but wound up doing it I was too young to learn anything he could had taught me but I always wished I had as his skills were off the chart good as a favor to my Dad he did work on a Antique MGTD by leading any dings and imperfections than did a black lacquer paint job on the tub and bonnet The car was in our garage most of my life and we always had it covered the Laquered paint looked great 30 years later and my Dad and I did a frame off restoration with a mechanical refresh including hemi pistons that was a old racing trick in the 1950s to boost the horsepower up a bit and trick the judges

Furze is basically me as a kid wanting to do everything, but he actually knows how to do it, AND HE DOES IT.
He has the MONEY to do it. Steel aint cheap.
He doesn't necessarily know, but he does not let not knowing stop him and will acquire the necessary skills and tools.
His earlier videos are a lot of makeshift solutions to supress cost. This one is sponsored so he can afford to let go more.
