As someone whose dog just caught a possum and brought into the back porch just the other night, let's just say dogs and possum aren't friends... not to worry, he was literally playing possum and took off shortly after I unceremoniously dumped him outside with the help of a couple of buckets... remember they play dead, but have serious teeth and claws, so never pick them up with your hands!

Haha, yes. Correct. If you've ever actually listened to, I don't know, the whole meaning of the song, she herself is the "dance monkey" because people keep telling her to dance like one of those monkeys you would see on the street with their handler performing for money. They tell her "dance for me, dance for me, dance for me", like she's a performing monkey, not because they care about who she is -- she's been walking around all this time in the area she is in the song -- but only now that she's famous are people noticing her talent and tell her to do the thing, to dance for them.
