    I've been running mine for almost 2 years now. GenSet starts the 4ton home central AC very easily now. Also, the compressor seems to start smoother without the old "BAM!" on startup. The Bluetooth app is quite nice too. Mine is set up to start the condenser fan and air handler fan then about 5 seconds later the compressor. Went from 100+ LRA down to 38~40A on startup. Perfect. - Nice review/video.

    Really nice to see those WAGO wire splicers provided. Just strip the correct length of insulation, insert into WAGO, push the lever down - no crimping required. WAGO wire splicers are a huge upgrade from wire nuts.
    Sadly, the provided Spade connectors were merely crimped onto the wire; no heat shrink insulation
    Excellent "tip" on starting ac's on fan then turning on the compressor.

    I’m considering purchasing one of these units. I called the manufacturer of my AC (Carrier) and they said it does void the warranty. It’s not a big deal, just remember to remove it before getting service.

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well how long is the warranty on the AC unit ? 10 year ??

    • @MJF40
      @MJF40 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not hard to remove. More of a hassle, but worth it if need warranties. I can’t understand why though. Seems easier on the AC compressor and MicroAir uses their own capacitor to aid start up. Who knows.

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would think as well. If anything extend the life of the compressor.

      @@johnnysweekends that’s exactly what I told them! It makes me mad that these old-school companies are so against anything they don’t understand. They look for any reason to deny coverage and say it’s not their problem. I used to work in mobile audio installing car starters, and we used to get this kind of opposition from the car manufacturers too.

    • @deadonleprechaun

      I literally smoked my first EcoFlow Delta Pro starting a newer Dometic 13.5 RV air conditioner. (I should post the video of my franticness when smoke was rolling out). I have two and was too afraid to try it on the second without a MicroAir. Needless to say whether it can or can't start it the Easystart will prolong the life of the ecoflow or generaters electronics. Luckily ecoflow did warranty the unit. 😎

    Hey Johnny...nice clean install. You might call Hutch Mountain and inquire about the mounting position. They advised me to make sure the wires were pointing down to eliminate the possibility of moisture getting inside. I know there's a waterproof gland and all but just thought I'd pass along what they told me. You're gonna love the difference it makes, not just for the ramp up surge...the AC doesn't work as hard even after the initial start up and seems to be a little quieter as well.

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea I didn’t see much for mounting info which I may have blown past that part because I was running out of time.
      And with the cover on water intrusion is definitely minimal but yes, I was looking at that as well when I did it and said screw it since the ac cover is on and hopefully that eliminates most potential problems from water intrusion.
      I may flip it but will see.

      How many hours and also how many watts does it pull just on AC im running 1650 just with that which is almost full load. Darn near not enough gen especially if you turn your converter on to charge batts. But I dont really have that issue with my set up..👍🏼

      @@johnnysweekends if memory serves me correctly I’m pulling 1450-1500 even in the hot Midwest summer with high humidity. Never had an issue with the converter running along with other AC outlets. Water heater and fridge on propane of course.
      I have a 6.5 gallon extended gas tank and can run the AC for 37hrs straight with that amount of fuel. We’re headed to NASCAR in KS tomorrow morning and will parallel my eu2000 to the 2200 so I don’t have to manage my power so much.

    Another GREAT one! I installed mine today to allow me to run the AC on a Champion 2500 dual fuel. What I'm seeing is just over 2000 watts running power after the AC gets going and I'm on shore power. Thats the AC and AC Fam power combined. I can’t use this generator as I hoped because of the running power. What kind of power draw on the Honda are you seeing and how is your Honda handling that kind of power demand.

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You have more things running than your ac.
      A 15k ac should draw about 1450-1600 watts about
      I assume your fridge may be on AC as well. Plus is your converter on? That’s power draw as well.

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have two 100watt solar panels and two 100amp lead acid batteries. I would like to run the little AC on batteries for short periods of time.

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  ปีที่แล้ว

      You’ll need a inverter to run it. Which they can be had cheap but I suggest at least buying a decent brand so they last and will be more efficient. The renogy ones have been around a long time and seem to do well. And a 1000 watt inverter is not much like $200….ish

    What did the soft start do? It took a little over 14 amps to start the AC before and after the soft start was installed. I though the soft start reduced the amount of surge power needed from your source of electricity.

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don’t think you really watched the video..? I explained the Honda app didn’t work correctly as sometimes the Bluetooth is t quick enough to capture the load. Sometimes it does but that first start before the easy start was plugged in should have read anywhere from 28-33 amps to fire it up.
      Now it’s consistent at 15 amps +/- a little.

    I might be missing something but when you test the delta both times i can hear the generator rev up when you turn on the air conditioner. This sounds like what happens when i have my generator charging my battery through my inverter which puts the inverter in bypass mode and powers the load from the generator not really utilizing tge inberter at all. Can you please shed some light on this and how i might be mistaken but i didnt wxpect to hear the generator reacting when tou are testing the power stations which should be silent. Thanks in advance.

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  ปีที่แล้ว

      Unless you skipped around in the video the first time and the second time nothing is running when I test the Delta Pro. You may hear the Ac fan on and then of course the ac fully kicks on and then I move to the second one up front. But there is no generator noise in the back ground. Probably just regular back ground noise.
      Only thing I can think of is maybe skipping around on the video..🤷🏼‍♂️

      Yea out side on a ac unit for sure. Under the Rv one I think it will be fine since it will take a lot of moisture to get inside the nut.
      Unless that is not sealed good 😂
      I thought about flipping it but the wiring did better that way
      I would definitely have it upright on a outside unit or something that is not covered
