All my teenage yars I listened to Mario. I was obsessed. So sad when he died. I am now 85 years old. There will never be another tenor to touch Mario. He was superb.
Great is an understatement. It's said he was the reincarnation of Caruso. As he was born on the day Casuco died. I have several of his albums. Mario moves your soul. This is what real music does, brings your emotions to the surface. Tears flow.

My parents bought the great Caruso soundtrack album. It contained four giant 78s. she put one of them on the couch seat next to her, and I as a precocious six year old ran over took a flying leap and sat on E lucevan Le stelle and Recondita Armonia, Breaking the record! I got my ass whooped for that one

I can't get enough Mario! I listen nearly every day. Saw The Great Caruso when I was 11, changed my life forever. Now I'm 82. Truly he had the voice and face of an angel. What separates him from all the others is that he gives you the emotions of the piece, not merely technique, hitting the notes. He reaches your heart no matter what he sings.

Magnificent truly stands an understatement of such sublime performances. That a man could be the Keeper of such divine voices, in itself, is incomprehensible. Words cannot capture the splendour and brilliance of Mario's voice. And so, they too fall short to recognize and describe the passion with which he committed himself. My goodness; had he lived to old age, one cannot begin to imagine the tenor he would have become. Angels must sit and listen to and enjoy his magic!.
Mario didn't do much opera, but when he did, he commanded it. Gigli, Enrico Caruso and Mario Lanza were capable of shattering a wine glass due to the high notes they could reach. One of the reasons modern Tenors show respect and honor to Mario Lanza. Mario has been my singing favorite since I first heard him singing the Drinking Song from the Student Prince in 1954. Wow! I can't believe its been almost 70 years. His singing voice will never die.

Mario Lanza was a man burdened by an enormous talent. Had he never been ruined by it I have no doubt he would have lived much longer then 38 years and would have spent the 1960's and 70's doing what he did best.
He also had an addictive personality, but many musicians seek an outlet because of their emotionality. I loved his voice since I was a teenager, just like Maria Callas who said she would have liked singing with Mario, and who also had a 10 year career.

My parents loved Mario Lanza. One of the first songs I learned to sing with my dad was the Drinking Song from the Student Prince. I had forgotten the awe inspiring beauty and richness of his magnificent voice. He sings with such passion!
In 1969 i first heard him in the student Prince and was hooked forever

I love his voice!! His singing with emotion!! Grew up listening to his Christmas album. My parents made it a Christmas tradition & I continue it with my kids despite my parents no longer with us. Brings back such happy childhood memories.

Mário tinha realmente uma voz linda e uma pronúncia perfeita como poucos, porém Corelli viveu mais e pode mostrar todo o seu incomparável potencial vocal. Tinha uma respiração como nenhum outro. Um Dó de peito extraordinário.

Assisti todos os seus filmes. Adorava Mário Lanza, mas asseguro que Corelli foi completo e teve tempo de vida para mostrar isso ao mundo.
Beide Tenore waren Einmalig.
Mario ist mein Nummer1 Tenor, leider ist er mit 38 Jahren zu früh gestorben.

Can you imagine his Turridu? Or Cavaradossi? Or Don Jose? This La Fleur is the best I've ever heard. Think of it: Otello, Turridu, the Duke of Mantua, Canio, Kalaf, Radames, and more. What an operatic tenor he would have made. He sang here my favorites and better than those who sang them in actual operas. Quelle domage.

Mario Lanza was a man burdened by an enormous talent. Had he never been ruined by it I have no doubt he would have lived much longer then 38 years and would have spent the 1960's and 70's doing what he did best.
He also had an addictive personality, but many musicians seek an outlet because of their emotionality. I loved his voice since I was a teenager, just like Maria Callas who said she would have liked singing with Mario, and who also had a 10 year career.
