Grubby reacts to THE CALL and A NEW DAWN League of Legends Cinematics (Live on 30-November-2023)
Catch me live all days of the week at: / grubby - บันเทิง
The Call has to be one of my favorites
Every single time I watch A New Dawn I'm like... Zyra really tried to block Ahri q with plants 😅🤣
Grubby trying Zyra first time
Zyra sees a projectile aimed at her and attempts to put a barrier between herself and it, how would she know that said projectile can pierce targets? from her perspective what she did was correct ignorant of the knowldge we possess as players, a "dramatic irony" situation in a way.
Yea, this scene was really cringe when I saw it, plus Zyra literally just die for one Ahri Q, and Nautlilus died to some falling rocks, these are so badly written as well.
@@VaultCon This was back when summoners were part of the lore though. So if the summoner who controls Zyra has not seen an Ahri q before it must be a noob.
@@Chromodar i did consider that but this was actually the same year they removed the league and summoners from the lore. You might remember summoners being actually shown controlling the champions in the very early cinematics so i don't think riot intended for them to be present here with the lore reboot that followed. Fun fact btw some champions still mention summoners to this day in game despite it being almost a decade now since they were removed.
Best part of them taking away Graves' cigar is that there's a literal alcoholic character who carries an entire keg of beer with him
In Europe Graves has his Cigar.
Deadass seen people commenting how finishing the cinematic with ornn having made the sword is too anticlimactic, when it was legit stated in lore that he stopped making weapons a LONG ago, making his urge to make one now that much more weighted
Sadly only a very small percentage of the league fanbase care about the story behind it all, it's complicated and requires reading, and, well, they ARE league players after all...
You have to know the lore for that to be impactful tho, tbf, and Riot often doesn’t share lore stories in a way most players see.
and it's also very symbolic
@@KP-us9iy We have Necrit.
@@cye2310 Thank goodness. He does a better job of disseminating lore than LoL does XD
Grubby my beloved.
1:30 Aatrox left that gash across the statue if you want more reason to think him a badass.
While the character design of a new dawn is severely lacking in some areas, I love how gruesome the character deaths are. Graves blocking Nautilus' swing with his gun and blowing himself up to secure the kill is badass. Also love how scary Nautilus is, while ingame he's just a goofball.
It takes many of the goosebumps away if you are not familiar with the champs.
Please revisit those after a year or so.
Man, I legit cry every time I see the call, it's so fucking good
man that one chatter 4:12 talking about AI Generator can do better (soon)
I swear condom could have prevented his comment
EDIT: ALWAYS WEAR CONDOM
It's criminal that no one told you to watch the warriors cinematic, easily the best in my opinion
Man i wouldve never seen these if it werent for you, so glad to find out i can enjoy media this way, I'm hooked to this channel!
The team sacrificing themselves waiting for ahri to get 6 and carry like the old days lol
The 2nd video (whatever it's called) is epic. When you learn the champions and watch this video, literally every attack (and some evades) are the champions actual abilities. When Nautilus defused Ahri that was his E, when he hit Graves first that was his Q. The chain retracting was the cooldown of his Q. Nautilus's finishing blow was his passive bonus auto-attack, and Graves killed him with his R, and Nautilus tried to save himself with his Q but just missed.
Ahri was able to R (Ult) Darius at the end because Darius was low hp due to Rengar's engagement (which used his R). Ahri, as an Ability Power mage, immediately ulted and all'in'd the low hp Darius. Darius was also stopped last minute by Leona's R, which hadn't been used earlier in the fight.
Anyways, it was cool to see you react, and it was also great for myself to rewatch it. It'd been years since I've see that video. (It was 2014, I started playing league in 2012)
Thanks for the vid brah! :)
All correct except for the ability Graves uses to defeat Nautilus. If you look close, the shotgun shell actually reads "End of the Line". The same name as Graves' Q ability.
Though of course Graves doesn't smack a shotgun shell into a wall with his hand in any of his abilities. But his Q is normally fired and detonates on terrain.
@@dissolution9843 ; thx brah. I'll be honest, I've never played Graves. :P
Yess sir, i'm so excited for your every league cinematic reaction. Thank you!🤩
the most chocking and emotional, for me was "ANNIE: Origins | League of Legends"
I think it's good to note that the newer cinematics are directly lore related videos
Hey Grubby, I think it would be cool to react to some League of Legends esports. I think you could start with documentaries since they give context and storylines, The good ones are - "Worlds 2017 Giants Slayers" And - "How Underdogs Made League of Legends History | DRX The Rise" the second one is little longer, but first one is like 5 minute!
Noted, thanks for the recommendation!

2# Non Canon lore Skins like: Project, Star Guardians,..
3# Valorant
These videos have very good pieces of the lore, they're sure not random.
Good reaction mister grub.
Did you know that they are adding new jungle monsters called "void grubs" next season?
For me? ;)
Watch Awaken Cinematic
I cant wait for the cinametic for next season. it has to be a insane after the call
I would like to re-watch all those video along with you Grubby! Your honest reaction is very fair
I am writing thise comment before watching the video but if you want to know exactly what happened in "The Call" Lore wise, Necrit did an awesome video about the Lore and on top of that you can react/watch his Videos about the League MMO which was announced in 2021. Those are really really really well made.
Grubby is my new favourite league streamer
I loved how Grubby watched without saying a word the call, but commented the entire cinematic of a new dawn xD. I bet he will like it more once knows the spells of the champions and less focus on boobas. Like that Leona ult, Nautilus Q trying to escape the rock, Rengar ult at the end and Q on Draven, like those were some cool moments.😅
I knew this would be fun.

Katarina needs more cinematics and a buff :)
Let's be honest Ahri waited to Kill Secure
if you are interested trying out a mage character i would recommend Zyra, she is the plant girl, my main, she is not mechanically challenging but has a high skill expression with her skill shots, she can be played as supp but its easy to dominate the meta non mage type midlaners as well so you don't have to rely on your adc to make plays, i would love for you to give her a chance, i think in your hands she would be real strong, she builds Liandrys, then rilays scepter, then demonic embrace foe maximum burn damage, the game will recommend to start Q then E then W but i think the best is E then W then Q or Q then W but always go W second, GLHF! Oh and BTW they did her so dirty in those cinematics...(and i am not only talking about looks) she looks way better in game
First time watching The Call, and honestly I like a lot of their older ones more. Even their more disjointed videos had a coherent, self contained story that they told while The Call didn't really feel that way.
Some of the ones that I like are The Curse of the Sad Mummy, As We Fall, and Get Jinxed. Don't really like the cgi ones that much tbh. Oh and annie's cinematic, probably one of the best.
Streamsniped that before my friend)) Epic, didn't see those, thank you wise Chat hehe and Grubby san
at the time naut was a jungler. mightve been sup too but i mainly played him in the jg.
Hey Grub! Love your content watching cinematics. The first Video showed how Kaisa and Talia went into a lost Desert City where the giant Void-beast (RekSai) attacked.
Kaisa, who uses the Void but Fights against its evil decided to jump into Reksais Lair to kill her (breedmother is reksai) and to enter the deeps of the Void.
... She finds it those deeps. In the Cinematic of "Bel'Veth".
Story continues
New Dawn doesn't really hold up but it's cool to watch for nostalgia tbh
You should also look into the bands that came about due to League such as K/DA and Pentakill.
At least I have a better Idea of what’s going on in the old cinematic
Probably have been recommended this already, but you should watch the Worlds 2023 Semifinals T1 vs JDG, some of the best league games I've ever seen.
i wonder if he ever saw the video to the best lol worlds xD
Hey grubby, love your content. I think you would enjoy trying out Taliyah, she's a very high skill mage and one of my favorite champs.
Warriors my favourite. Lets watch it ;)
ya i love zyra hehe but i am a yuumi main now :D lol. have fun with nautilus its a tank support with a big hook
Should have done Awaken as well
chat really said "we have dragon blood son" bruh dog blood is piece of poop. i try to watch this mf for 3 time i fall asleep every fk time
MORE LOL CINEMATIC REACTIONS PLEASE!
Nice! Didn't realize you had this channel; subb'd. That moment when Leona comes back and casts her ult is a classic... And, yeah, Riot was pretty shameless in this one... That bit with Rengar and Katarina got a rare cringe out of me.
hey grubby video request: your comparison on dota2, lol, and warcraft.
Darius is Axe is LoL xd haha
Yep, my thoughts was the same, overall these fights are hilarious, 0 sense. Looks cool, but imagine get hooked like graves did and you only bleesing some :D In reality this should kill him like 200 times.
Hello Grubby, i think one of the best esports documentaries of all time is called Team Liquid- Breaking Point. It mainly focuses on a league of legends pro player player called Dardoch, who was one of the best NA talents back then, but he was very toxic. would be interesting to hear your commentary on this documentary.
Whhaaaatttt......? No one told me Mr.Grub has another channel. Unforgiveable
Question is, was the Naut game not worth uploading, or am I just too early? Hmmm.
He didn't play him... yet!
@@NaldaxTV Damn, I even went to stalk his Twitch to see if I could catch him online. :P
Mr. Grubby, can you please react to IrelKing? His irelia is beautiful. 😊👍
The Call honestly rivals Blizzard (old Blizzard anyway) quality of cinematics.
ahri ran away cuz her R is in cooldown, duhhhhhhhhh xD
Bro reaction like this -_- 💀
cool sht
"Let's play Naut" - But he never did xD
He is not the greatest tho, and he is a tank who rely on his team to actually kill foes, so that can be problematic at newbie queue.
I'm waiting for the timeline when Grubby takes supports like TK, Naut, Braum and Taric to the toplane 🤩
@@Chromodarnaut top with w max is actually sleeper
Just pick him top/mid and max E and W first. You would be surprised on how much damage he can do when he gets xp and items
A New Dawn didn't age too well, but at the same time it was made at a time when the old lore had been erased and the new lore was sparse-to-non-existing. Newer cinematics are generally a lot better since they tend to focus on the new lore of the setting rather than merely trying to sell players on the character designs and the fantasy of Summoner's Rift like was the case with earlier ones.
they were killing characters there left and right lol rip leona draven kata draven
You probably wanted to mean that the old cinematic is better. New stuff in league is hot garbage, lets be real dude.
@@cynical_boy you need to substantiate that claim or it literally holds no value
Newer cinematics might be visually impressive, but the 2022 one was just a bunch of random stuff while A New Dawn showed a cool ingame fight
@@Trommdererste The Call is based on lore. Bel'Veth's announcement cinematic follows it too. It is not just "random stuff".
A New Dawn was alright, but it was definitely overly sexualized, which drags it down. Riot's marketing has thankfully matured since then and now they're trying to sell people more on the setting and lore than the hentai.
The 2023 cinematic was bad, though, we can definitely agree on that.
These cinematics may look good when you're new. But sometimes it's just so cringe seeing the characters making a lot of rookies mistakes, or seeing characters dying too quickly.
ROFL you're backseating cinematic character's skills. This is a golden comment
what
ahri looks gross lol
Makes no sense that its even a close fight lorewise. Both Jax and Ahri could solo the noxus team with ease😂
That's because it's not a lore based fight but rather a representation of an in game fight on summoners rift. Each team is made up of standard laners at the time Jax vs Darius top, Rengar vs Nautilus (jungler at the time) ahri vs Kat mid
Draven vs graves (adc at the time) leona vs zyra support, you can even see the Nexus at the end.
Lorewise you think anyone's touching nautilus?
@@VaultCon ah i did not notice fhat, thats cool. Its still funny so see though knowing what jax would do to draven.
@@bumenjoyer yeah jax probably he is supposed to be insanely powerfull in the lore.
Why would you watch a new dawn? That thing is very outdated and not at all lore accurate.
how come riot make this with great graphics but league still have shitty 2005 graphics.
That's true of basically every game that has cgi cinematics, in game graphics are never going to come close.
just look at WoW cinematics
League looks great and definitely modern, just stylized. If it had ultra realistic graphics it would lose its charm and many people just wouldn't be able to play it.
@@VaMage wildrift the mobile version literally have better cham model graphics than the pc
@@sandz000 They're similar but wild rift is a new game that was made from ground up. It's much more difficult to upgrade models for a much older game.
why is this dude wasting time talking about shapes and polygons on a 2014 video ?
I mean xD most league cinematics are cringey. The music videos are kinda cool tho
Bro react to "Twist of Fate" The best cinematic of LEAGUE OF LEGENDS !
You Traitor! you betrayed DOTA!! anyway, glad you are enjoying it! Cheers!
"this is not realistic" mf it's from 2014 lol
2014 is real
