I kept worrying about the scaffolding clamp on right side of the gate poking your waist. I think it meant to go the other way, facing out. Glad this job over and you went home early today, job well done 👍🙂
It’s amazing how people preach about BRITISH QUALITY. It doesn’t exist it’s bullshite. Far too many cowboys/girls who work for large building companies ( because they can’t make it on their own) and churn out this quality of shite. Well done boys for fixing the shite.
lovely lintel job guys as ever, those metal lintels never look strong enough to a non builder like me but are clearly perfect for the job so what do I know LOL! anyway on to the next instalment!
Great Job Guys, the tricks people used to do a job fast...using a piece of wood to prop up the bricks🙄I liked the use of the strong boys and the hoover, that's a great idea as that white insulation gets everywhere. nice finish too🧱⚒👏
I liked ur health and safety foot stool Steve 😉😉 I can say I’ve stood on worse get urself a little crate always coms in handy especially for me being 5’6 😥
Alex mate, there's a lot to be said about being a glamorous assistant, there's no responsibility for a start ... when you're self employed it's all on you .... unless you can blame Steve.. Yeah, blame steve, lol.. looks like another good job chaps, how's that porch coming ?
Chaps, At least it was hardwood......!!! I remember building some nice bungalows in the late 1960`s. Cavity walling (50mm cavity then) The front bedroom windows were over 6 feet span, there was a timber lintel on the block- work, the solid timber window frame went in and we run the face work straight over the top of the frame.....we did reinforce to first three course of brickwork above the frame though.........and thats just how it was back then. As long as there was not too much load or forces above it, spans of 6ft (ish) were not considered as needing a lintel. 🤔😭👍😁🤠🧱👍
@@SteveAndAlexBuild Gents. My most sincere apologies for the no show, at Milton Keynes today We had a medical emergency at home earlier, and my Wife was rushed into a Coronary special care unit. They are keeping her in overnight - mainly for observation and further tests... The rest of us have just got home from the hospital. I`m sitting here with a strong brew ( builders tea) still in shock, and thinking this should not be happening. I`ll keep you posted on progress.
👏👏👏 well done Cheers from Oregon USA on road trip from Texas to visit family. Catching up on videos on ipad in motel room 😊

Those Strong Boy's are the 🐕 🥥🥥 🤣😂🤣

Be Careful standing on the toolbox, I've done the same on scaffolding, can be 50/50 lucky/unlucky 🤕
Nicely rescued chaps. Does that lintel not support the bricks until the mortar is set.? The head of the window has no reinforcement inside then ? 👍👍
The actual bricks provide the strength. The lintel Always needs propping till the mortar cures 💪🏼🧱👍🏽

Slowly 😬😆👍🏽🧱
You could tell the customer the soil pipe wants extending, bet they don't have that window open too often
Soil pipes are not something we get involved in
just a quick one steve why the packers between the window header and the lintle? great job as allways 👍
The lintel will sag unless it’s propped .
Cheers 🧱👍🏽
Be careful on the ladder with your bad leg ❤️
🙏🏽🧱👍🏽
What blades you using ?
Carbide tipped masonry 👌🏼🧱
this building was bombed by the Luftwaffe during WW2? due to war time shortages of materials they decided here a stick that should do?
😆🧱👍🏽
No covering strip over the window?
Covering strip ?
@@SteveAndAlexBuild cover the gap between the frame top and the brick ... or wasn't there anything there before?
@BLAZERSEAMS frames being replaced 👍🏽🧱
@@SteveAndAlexBuild I guess the clue that I failed to pick up was when you had to prop up the rubbish frame top that was collapsing. Well done guys
