All said and done, Muyu's composure is on point. At no point did she break. Jagero, you can't go around be littling professions. Ati Law is easy😂😂😂😂😂. Aki hauna haya. Anyway....big up people.
Point of correction to Muyu, both njeri and nyambura are among the 9 daughters. Secondly i went through the british curriculum for high school. I believe just like 844,it highly depends on the particular school. That being said, whether people like it or not the british curriculum is strongly founded on personal research and critical thinking. I sort of feel like muyu is not well versed in the intricacies of both systems to give a comprehensive opinion.
I feel like Jagero lost it on this one. This beautiful and brilliant girl's conversation brought about the difference between her education system and the 844 which is deeply manifested in the manner in which she maintains her cool, greatly respects your opinion and has independent thinking while you don't seem to. This is a confident and emotionally intelligent gal. You literally 'harassed her' in my opinion! Mothers are happy!
I agree, he really harassed her, that's not professional... But the girl kinda just took it easy and that shows that for sure British Curriculum is way better than 8-4-4, as an 8-4-4 consumer, I think I would have gotten so irritated by this harassment.😂😂😂
She's right on the catering to all students across board... British system, particularly the Cambridge international curriculum produces a well rounded person because its very "critical thinking-oriented". I started with the Edexcel curriculum in primary school, before I was moved to Cambridge for my secondary years... so I get what she means.
I am glad you had this conversation, as a parent l was very curious about the difference between the Kenyan education system and the international system. It has really helped me make an informed decision.
You got it all twisted. Keenly you'll notice he didn't even notice Muyu is a Gikuyu name-he assumed it a 'colonial' name, as you'd put it. I don't get it, what's with colonial-why do people get so touchy with term! Hierarchy is a fact of life; the competent will dominate and colonial we don't like it is manifest of dominance.
@Ochicho_Nyase Why do people get touchy? Cause having your identity stripped from you isn't pretty. Experiencing an African forcing the rules of colonialism on you is like twisting a knife to our souls.
If you compare an8.4.4. student with the so called international schools ....8.4.4 is far much higher it's only that we don't have resources...we shine out there.
Our good professor Wandia Njoya ashasema 8-4-4 na British/American SYSTEM is no difference. Just a social stratification thing. All public schools should have all facilities. Hakuna someone just decides to be a FREE THINKER nothing to do with school
Oh really! Does the good lady know that when 8-4-4 began it was about practicals and such subjects as woodwork, metalwork, agriculture, home management, were being taught, until it went the way CBC is going after the wheat flour for chapatis and sausages ran out?
Jagero; my frank opinion is that you also need to improve on your listening skills. Leave the guest to speak. Don't make them look 'stupid' for attending your show. I have observed that you intercept your guests a lot and do not give them time to fully explain themselves.
Wrong. I studied both. 1. 8-4-4 focuses on rote-learning (crumming) while IGCSE focuses on group-work, research and presentation. 2. 8-4-4 assumes all kids are at the same intelligence level while IGCSE assumes kids are at different levels. In IGCSE, if you're a fast learner, you're introduced to advanced (difficult) classes while if you're a slow learner you're given simpler classes. For instance, I did IGCSE and i was doing advanced Pure Mathematics. I met 8-4-4 'A' students in campus and none of them had studied what I'd done 3. IGCSE brings about career specialization at a young age (14 years). You choose subjects based on your strength very early - sciences, tech, sports, languages, art etc Basically CBC has taken alot of what IGCSE is and does
The lies we like to tell. I personally went through the 844 system, but boy oh boy I I wish I did what my kids are doing. At tender ages, they're way above compared to what I went through
@brunooyoo Indeed it was bullying. He was swearing and making disparaging comments. Awful. If that was my child, he would be getting an earful from me. He better apologize to her and the audience.
Critical thinking is something that is taught in these 'European' schools, and thinking is everything. How we think shapes life. So how we think is really important. It also boosts confidence, this lady is well spoken and confident, very grown up. Empathy is another thing, though empathy might also be cultural too. But critical thinking makes people better in a very all rounded way so it puts you in the right place on values like empathy as well. The complete darkness in the village is great, I find it healing. I say that on being home for holidays from Europe where lights never go off. I literally feel the deep healing of complete darkness. Modernity denatures the body too much.
The lady is well informed about the British education system, confident & emotionally intelligent but she's also very ignorant, very apathetic, the reality will hit her when she starts practicing law in Kenya, it will take a while for her to allign even after KSL🤷🏾♀️ Jagero should have researched about the topic of discussion before the interview. She challenged you & you decided to challenge her by asking other unnecessary question like he was trying to prove something 😂 u were fighting her😂
Muyu is probably short for Wamuyu. There is no difference between 8-4-4 and these other international schools. They are all following curriculums for the industrial revolution. Churning out workers. Not thinkers or creatives. The main difference is $$$ and a manufactured notion that they are better. Created by colonialist to keep the system in place. I would NEVER send my child to a school..leave alone an international school. It's a complete waste of resources; time and money.
@@TheJageroYou did well to expose the gaps in education and hopefully Muuyu will do a little more research in the field she has chosen. As a Gen X I totally understood your theme in this conversation.

The shear amount of stupidity and ignorance displayed by the supposed law graduate who passed through the British School system in Kenya in an international school is alarming. She doesn't even know commonwealth consists of former British colonies and she purports to have studied that in school. And her knowledge of the difference between 8-4-4 and international curriculum is terrible. She couldn't articulate anything. The irony is she claims the same system improved her critical thinking skills to levels that greatly exceeds those who went through the normal schooling system in Kenya. Very crazy.
Jagero did a good job quizzing her. Food for thought for the young lady who is still just 20 and hopefully still in school. She did well to not break down or give up.
I completely agree and understand what she’s trying to say. Having experienced the 8-4-4, British, and American systems myself, I have to admit that 8-4-4 is the least recommendable, at least based on my personal experience.
I feel like njegero lost it on this interview. Most of the things you were saying were very uncalled for.. infact warranted. And the bullying my God!🙆🏽♀️ Njegero you need to do better. You can bring your point forward without calling other professions stupid and all…

He really bullied her - she is just 20. Hopefully, it sharpens her for future interviews but that bullying was unwarranted.
