It's surreal but it's not an exeption. Here people actually believe that cancer is an illness made to prevent overpopulation. As you said, educating those people is the only solution. Without a clear answer humans will always try to make one up

Well you have to put yourselves in their shoes, they are uneducated and when you're uneducated it's very difficult to have the faith required to believe someone on something you know nothing about. I think what eventually happened is that they tried to educate the people on Ebola on answer some mysteries so they could understand and would be able to trust the doctors instead of fear them.

It's no different to western media. When a lie is repeated by the media over and over people believe it to be true, without actually checking the facts. This happens all the time in the West, just with different situations. If all of the media outlets were telling you that an illness is a hoax, and it was getting repeated over and over on every news station, every paper, etc I'm sure you would believe it too.

Kinda in the same way americans come up with ideas as tap water makes people dumber because of chlorine being toxic, vaccines gives autism because there are free heavy metals in them, planes showering us with compounds that makes we dumber, the person with the bolder speech should be president not mattering what the candidate stands for...
It's all about being scared, not knowing how stuff works and hearing lies that seems believable enough times to believe in them, having nothing to contrast thelies' trueness with.

@@Killerspieler0815 Ebola is not even remotely as transmissible as Covid-19. Not even in the same realm of transmissability. Ebola can't be spread until the person starts showing symptoms, and you can only spread it via direct contact with the body of an infected person. Meanwhile you could have Covid and walk around for 14 days without knowing you have it, giving it to hundreds of people. Almost impossible to compare the two.
