About this song:
Written in February 2019 at a time when I was feeling frustrations at the world and parts of my personal life, this song was meant for release in May 2020, after a lengthy recording period over 2019 and working with an amazing filming team in early 2020.
Never has this song resonated more with how I've been feeling over the last weeks since the Pandemic began to take over our lives. Forgoing all my plans of professional PR etc, I felt it was now or never to let go of this song - I hope you can find some release in shouting along. I'm now working on new (less doom vibes) material, so stay tuned for lighter sounds to come, once these dark times pass over. Hope you like it. Rachel x

Love the diversity in your voice Rachel . Being of that older generation I was drawn to your fantastic Mary Black , but now I hear quite a bit of London Grammar coming through ... lovely . Though I'm 66 I still try and follow brilliance like yours . I live just outside York and maybe missed my moment to see you perform live on the street ? . I'm kicking myself .

This is such a beautiful song.
This song with your vocal is so powerfully enchanting. I suppose it's nice to read your thoughts on the source of the gloom is the pandemic et al. The video delivers that message but I', listening to your lyrics and this song is so much more a personal diary than a public commentary to me at least. I hear you sing about & describe the futility of a relationship you are fighting for that is never going to deliver the love you want.. we all want/need. You wrote "Stay tuned for lighter sounds to come"... of course but for me Rachel, wherever you go musically it will always worthwhile. But here, "We are" in this elegiac personal lament you've created a lyrical masterwork of emotional truth & painful honesty.
Thank you so much! That's the beauty of songs, they can transfer onto so many different topics! I have been writing a lot about frustration, and the pain that brings - it at one point spread to all parts of my life so maybe there could be some truth in this!
