I want an Apple designed/ecosystem integrated wall mounted calendar like Skylight, Hearth, Magicmirror, or Dakboard. This would be the best “home hub” hands down. As a father of 5 managing everyone’s calendars for sports, doctors, school etc having a large screen Apple Calendar centered in the kitchen would be insanely useful. Fingers crossed the rumored “home hub” and actual “Apple TV” is their Hearth calendar.
An NFC chip/reader can be added inside the door just like the actuators for window control. I can use my iPhone or my Viper remote start 2 way remote to roll my windows up and down. The big one that I want is Car Key where I can leave my OEM key fob at home and use my iPhone in my pocket as the transmitter that allows me to just push the start button. Viper is bringing it to market soon but I’d rather use an Apple product.
So you would not need to put the NFC tags in the door handle itself it could be on the other side of the body next to the door handle. Let’s just say you put six NFC tags around each door handle to have good coverage. NFC tags are fairly cheap. Once you scan the NFC tag it would have your iPhone talk to a aftermarket ODB port module via Bluetooth or UWB. I remember a company called automatic when they first came out with their ODB port module it was able to start your car and I believe unlock your doors, but for some reason it got shut down or at least the functionality of their product.
