    I’m a new diver and dive with the HD Pro. It’s all I’ve used so I can’t really compare it to anything, but I can say for the price it feels comfortable and has some nice features

    Thank you for another great video. I'd appreciate thoughts on the Axion vs Pro HD Compact since the Compact seems to be a much slimmed down version of the Pro HD making it more like the Axiom?

      Hi J9 ! Thanks for the question. I would rate the BCs like this;
      - PRO HD is a Jacket/Vest style and the bulkiest of the 3 and I'd rate as the least travel friendly.
      - The Axiom is next, a lighter, more slimmed down Hybrid style BC and I'd say no problem to travel with. This is my BCD of choice and I travel with it often.
      - The Pro HD Compact is super minimalist in construction (lighter weight nylon materials with thinner straps, no trim pockets and a Back Inflate system. It will be the best weight wise for travel.
      I'd call these; a BIG Steak Meal, a Business Lunch and a snack if I used the food analogy to describe them.
      Regards Bob C

    Do they differ in terms of buoyancy? Like, does one BC needs to carry a bit more weights than the other to achieve the same buoyancy?

    • @DiversSupplyYT
      @DiversSupplyYT  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      These units are all cut and sew construction and will all be similar in buoyancy.

    Does the Axiom have a backplate? Can't really see one. Makes me wonder why people tend to find it so comfortable. Might also be a better fit for men since it's significantly longer and hence lower on the hips. Any female feedback?

      Celine, The axiom back plate is very small and sits at the lower back Lumbar area. The BC actually uses the scuba tank as the strength or better described as rigidity of the unit when mounted. I've not found another BC to be as comfortable UNTIL I tried the Apeks Exo-Tec BC. MY $ .02
      There is the Ladies Soul BC it uses a similar system and is very comfy. Thanks for the note. Bob C

      @@DiversSupplyYT cool, thanks for the video and the reply. I'll have a look at both. I'm rather tall (1,80m) so my first instinct is that a unisex / male jacket should be fine. In the video I just found the difference in length striking. But I'll try them both (and a few more). Thanks in any case!

    Hi, I love your channel. I have been diving a few years now and it’s time to get my own gear. I have only used vest style like the pro. I am a tall girl and I just feel so bulky. Do you think the other one is a good choice. I’m just concerned about the face in the water. Help! Please get back to me. Thank you! ☺️🤿

      Hello Lauren and thank you for your kind words. It means the world to me to that folks enjoy the channel. The vest/jacket BCDs do feel encompassing and especially so I a diver is over-weighted and thus they are putting more air into the BC than they really need. So I feel ya there.
      As we've discussed, the Back-inflates don't do that, but there's that flip-side at the surface. Can you get accustomed to this, of course.
      For me, my .02. The Axiom Ladies, or if you have a long torso, the men's Axiom is my recommendation. ... and no I do not get a commission, free stuff or paid to say that.
      Thanks for commenting/ asking a question and please subscribe. Regards Bob C

      @@DiversSupplyYT thank you for getting back to me. So…I think I want to stay with the original style BCD for right now. What do you recommend for a tall girl (6ft) that isn’t super bulky. Something comfortable. Please let me know! Thanks so much! 🤿

      @@laurenwong1977 Here's what I'd suggest, reasoning is: likely once you have some experience you're going to feel bulky even more than as a beginner.
      Additionally, the term "Jacket Style" right off says BULKY... pretty much no matter which one. I just walked through the BCDs, and we have a LOT of them, and I checked all the ladies units... they are all bulky. Big side bolsters as I call them. $340 - $600
      Now, and bear with me here.
      The Hybrid, which I'm absolutely sure you would love when you dive it are at $699. The side bolsters are just about half as tall and "bulky" as the jackets.
      I just hate to see you spend $$ then you say later "Yuck" then spend another $$$ later. Why spend $$$$$ total to get $$$ and be a happy lady.
      At least this is the way my wife explains things to me Hope this helps, Bob C

      @@DiversSupplyYT thank you! I am so conflicted on the two. Lol!
      Ok, I’m so sorry I keep bothering you. What do you think about regulators? I want something great but I don’t want to break the bank to bad right now. Suggestions?
      Oh, and a good semi dry wetsuit.
      Don’t hate me. Lol! Thank you so so much! ☺️

      @@laurenwong1977 Hey Lauren, No worries on the BCD and no worries on bothering me, it's what I do.
      So Regs, out there you've seen a huge selection and you'll hear from various sources what they feel is "their" choice. Question is, are they being paid to say that ?
      #1 I suggest setting your budget; Reg-Octo-Gauge Set.
      #2 If you're using a semi-dry then you're diving some colder waters, so having an environment 1st stage seal should be an important feature to you. There's some good choices in the $450-$550 range.
      #3 Semi-Dry; The Apeks Therm-Q link
      th-cam.com/video/xg98T4Uk1gk/w-d-xo.html
      is a top choice with many customer's positive reports.
      Never Hate Nobody... well maybe.. nah just kidding. Bob C
