@@goldandcheese if you mean "do i need to watch umineko to enjoy higurashi" no, umineko has very little to do with higurashi. Bernkastel and Lambdadelta being rika and satoko is more of a cameo/hint to the audience who watched Higuarashi and doesn't play into the story of either Higurashi or Umineko in any meaningful way. Honestly i think the most they said about it is that Bernkastel and Lambdadelta played a 1000 year "game" where Bernkastel was trapped and Lambdadelta (being the witch of certainty) made a declaration that the only way Bernkastel could escape would be by admitting defeat but Bern still managed to escape getting her the title "witch of miracles." And it's implied that the "1000 year game" was Higurashi.
Poor Satoko…. I know what she did in Sotsu and Gou was evil, but still. She didn’t deserve all that….She’s a kid going through trauma :( But trauma isn’t an excuse either for what she did to Rika, to everyone.
