- "Teenagers With Attitude" is an unofficial fan film reboot of the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers that 're-imagines' the show and features the teens before they meet Zordon and become the Power Rangers. TWA was made on a budget of $500 and filmed on a Saturday one weekend in June of 2014.

I'm about 10 and a half minutes in, and I have to say the guy who plays Billy in this does a fantastic job, it's almost as if i'm watching a young David Yost play Billy all over again

I love this, it's realistic, reflecting the attitudes and behaviours of real teens, the current climate of the educational system and society's treatment of teens and bullies and all that good stuff.
Compared to the show's diologue, this film actually has some REALLY clever and mature writing.
Nah, the dialogue is just as goofy as the show.

Since everyone's a critic maybe I'll take a whack at it.
What I liked: The backstory of Jason's parents, Finster being human turned villain, Rita's new look, the actor who played Kimberly is SUPER hot, the race switching of Jason and Zack (it's not that big of a deal), the bad girl attitude of Trini which I always felt Trini in the TV show had, but it was just wrong for the show's message and honestly the butterfly knife sold it for me. Loved that part. The technology and the special effects were AMAZING. It didn't look bad at all. I liked that they added Scorpina and Goldar to the film. Last, but not least…. THAT DRAGON DAGGER LOOKED SICK! You have to be kidding me that this film was made over a weekend and a budget of $500. I'm insanely impressed. Saban better take notes. THIS is what the movie coming out July 2016.

I have to admit the 2017 film wasn't all bad but this has much more action to it.
Geez, those astronauts were almost as emotional as robots. Although, I must admit, making them Jason's parents was a surprising twist. And the Finster twist, OMG.
Also, I do like how there was actually a reason why this was called Teenagers With ATTITUDE, and I also appreciated how everyone had varying degrees of it.
The characters were believable, the story was new and familiar at the same time, the tone was excellent, and this was just really great to experience. Thank you so much for this, and I hope that any future Power Ranger films, be they fan-made or official, take notes from this.
Astronauts going through training that's basically military training so they tend to keep their cool in emergency situations
Love the school detention scene! Exactly how school handles bullying now. Punish those who stand up for themselves or others and wonder why there is such a bullying problem.
That origin story hit the feels. Good parents have to go in the worst ways.
That principal is an idiot. It quickly becomes clear he's looking for an excuse to punish students so he can look like he's doing his job instead of actually doing his job.
I expected them to shout "It's Morphin' Time!" at the end there.
I really like these interpretations of the Rangers, they are true updates. They feel relevant to today, but still have the spirit of the originals. I hope these guys make a full fledged Power Rangers movie. I mean Zordon's cool, but it would still be awesome to see these rangers in action.
Especially if Trini's weapon is a kind of giant switchblade. XD

I watched that before watching this video. And believe me when I say I would be more than happy to pledge. But certain complications have happened and I'm not working at the moment so unfortunately I'm not able to help you at the moment. But I really do hope you get it up! I like your work.

Takamoto Shirako Not saying I have a problem with this, I liked Zordon of Eltar. But people are entitled to their own opinions. Just because someone put alot of time, effort, energy, and money into something doesn't mean everyone is going to like or appreciate it. Sad, but that's just the reality of the world we live in.
So what you're implying is is that no one has the right to criticize anyone at anything unless they can surpass the person they are criticizing in in the thing they are being criticized for. So if a doctor fucks up on a routine surgery that any other doctor could have easily pulled off and winds up killing one of your loved ones, what are you going to say to yourself "well it's not like I could have done a better job". You don't criticize someone's ability to do something based on your ability to do that same thing, but you do criticize them based off their colleagues abilities to do the same thing.
I thought Jennifer Ortiz really captured that type of girl I always chased and adored back in the early to mid 90's when I was in middle school, the clothing on her and attitude was just like the original Trini. The thing about the cast back then, I remember here in Toronto being in grade 5; everyone wanted to be someone of the 6* rangers (Tommy made things even cooler*) lol. These actors/actresses in the web-episode truly came off the way others should feel connected to them. That's the message Power Rangers gave then and that's the message I saw in what you made. Great job!
I love how regular fans are showing big studios how its done. I don't have to have the rangers cursing and being demons like teenagers today, but they need to be believable teenagers Sabans... or people for that matter. Good job I'm a fan now. Remember though this isn't a TV show so you can always revisit this and edit it with new footage and music when you get the money. Speed up the pacing a bit but don't be like the TV show and have every episode be stand alone.
Dude, best fan film of the Power Rangers!! The special effects were great, the acting was descent, character introductions were well established, and the overall feel of it was awesome. I love how you tied in other Power Ranger material into this film: from other characters and Terra Venture, that was cool putting those easter eggs in there. And Finster, the Monster Creator..... nice twist on that. Didn't see that coming. Overall this was great for a fan film. Good job on the hard work you guys put into this. Now we're all hyped up for the next film.... Zordon of Eltar!!!

Zordon Fanfilm I love how you avoided the accidental racism of the original show.
Loved it! I really enjoyed the story telling and each persons story. This is what a modern version would look like. But my favorite part were the teasers and cut scenes. Those last 3 minutes had me going! Great job brother. I'm looking forward to more
Wow you all did a good job with this I really liked it. His parents... that scene was really sad though done very well imo. The cat cameo was cool. I liked how the 5 seemed to really capture the personalities of the originals. Overall I really enjoyed this reimagining of Power Rangers and Im excited for seeing a continuation this time with action please :) And perhaps we can throw some green in it too!

Nice reimagining. The acting could have been a bit more natural, but it wasn't terrible. I really like the interconnections built into this, too. I can already see the possibility of Scorpina and Goldar being the Scotts transformed, since they did the same for Finster and Goldar and Scorpina were actually married in the Japanese source.
I liked this version of Rita's look and return. Interesting take on some of the reimagination of the primary characters. Kimberly being the nerd of the group was an excellent idea and she actually looks pretty good! Zack being a total slacker is pretty funny. The new Trini was awesome to. In other words good job!

Congratulations on the work. To have this filmed, edited and released in, just under, three months if a definitely an accomplishment. I can appreciate the character and reference changes, throughout the film. That being a fan film dedicated to the franchise. Keep up the good work, looking forward to Zordon of Eltar.
I am in love with this fan film
I was very impressed with this. You brought our hero's into the modern age and with no goody two shoes B.S. I was hoping to see them in costume and with the Megazord. But since this is a fan film shot in a very short time I am not upset about it. In fact I am impressed that this was done over a weekend. I hope that the people like it well enough that they will ask for more. In fact I'll be the first. I hope you make more of these when ever you can. Right all we need is a great producer to help out. Lets see, I'd put my money on Ridley Scott because he's a great director and producer i cant find a movie i didn't like from him. He can do a movie on a big scale with out going overboard and i think he an CM Davis would make a great team. Michael Bay is good, but ruined the Ninja Turtles. Peter Jackson's good too but he might go to far with it like in King Kong.
This is a great way to start out in my opinion, getting a feel for the Characters before they meet Zordon. And having a preview of the Villain gives it that good suspense, i cant wait to see them in the costumes and to meet the Green Ranger in the sequel not to mention the Zords. It's an amazing re-imagining of the these classic Characters. keep up the good work. And May The Power Protect You!

I like the idea that Angel Grove is in Hawaii. This makes sense as all the battles, massive invasions and weekly giant monster attacks would be at an isolated location and hence, pretty much Angel Grove and the island would be an isolated incident without any means of immediate additional military support from the mainland and there for the citizens being "grateful" that there are a band of superheroes capable of defending them where the military fails with it's limited resources. Because without the Power Rangers, Angel Grove and the whole of Hawaii... they on their own.

Except that the largest US Naval base is in PEARL HARBOR. Pearl Harbor plus 12 joint bases there in Honolulu makes it a terrible place strategically. ALTHOUGH I did kinda think it was a good idea if not for the LARGE military presence.

Loochie Smoochie Jabez525 I picked Hawaii for many reasons and not sure why I got so much flak for it. I'm finally speaking out now since it'll be a while before the follow up film makes this clear to the nitpickers lol, but you were the first intelligent people to get close to nailing the TRUE reason why I chose Hawaii. Ahem...what better way to show how outclassed mankind is against Rita's forces when showing how easy it is to have one of the biggest and most notable military bases in the country become overwhelmed?? And then to be cut off from the rest of the country by nearly 2,500 miles? Hawaii is the most isolated population center on the face of the earth. That's a fact. 2,390 miles from California; 3,850 miles from Japan; 4,900 miles from China; and 5,280 miles from the Philippines. Reinforcements would take a while to get there. Fortunately there are Power Rangers to help out in that department.
The military presence is key to the story as some of the major characters are from military families. Imagine the conflict of interest a character could have knowing a loved one is also in danger on the ground or in the air. I didn't flinch in killing off Jason's parents. The threat has to be real. This isn't your Saturday morning Power Rangers. It's still kid friendly but it's grounded in a little more reality. I'm going for more depth with this story. Not the typical "monster of the day" story. Setting is important. People are miffed it isn't in California anymore. Wouldn't fit the type of story I wanted to tell. So I changed it.

Wow! Thanks a lot! Means a lot to hear that from you. When I really liked the Hawaii idea, I could picture a mention of "Silver City" being on one of the neighboring islands later on. Like each island is city each team of Rangers defended. I mean, between Hawaii and Japan, there are a LOT of islands to set the stage for the battles of good n' evil. Y'know what? I'm gonna get to writing again...

The actors chosen to play the 5 are pretty darn good. They appear to have a good chemistry. Some of the other actors aren't fantastic... but it's a fan made vid, so I get it. The song at the end was EPIC! Nice work. :)

Honestly, I really dig this. It brings the concept of "teenagers with attitude" into the 21st centrury in a realistic and believable way that also follows up the "Zordon of Eltar" film they made. This was well done and I am impressed by it!

To be honest the very beginning threw me off cause I wasn't expecting death in the first few minutes lol. The principle was not my favorite character, But I did like the way he was played. I loved the teens personalities especially Trenies and Kimberly's, And the first appearance of Rita was great ! Thank you so much for this.

As a long time Power Rangers fan, I can honestly appreciate this. I enjoyed the references and the casting was really good, especially Zack. It would've been cool if you had the morphing sequence in the end, but overall it's very impressive since it's budget is $500. Hope you do another one.

This is probably the best Ranger fan film I've ever seen. Have you guys thought about doing this as a series? Would absolutely watch it if you did. I love the new spin you put on these characters, especially Trini and Zack.
Tremendous effort and felt real, especially considering it was shot over 2 days and with a $500 budget. Far better than the official Power Rangers movies. I'd love to see the story continue.
This fan film was very well done. A great re-telling and re-imagining of Day of the Dumpster, and they are actually teenagers with actual attitudes, not those goody two-shoes you see on the TV series. I liked the appearances of Kat and Ernie, and for those who don't know about Roland Williams, he's one of those Beetleborgs. Zack being white and an athlete instead of a dancer was interesting, and Jason being black, that's cool. I loved how Kimberly still has that valley girl attitude despite being nerdy and a journalist and Billy is still Billy, but with that Jersey Shore look. The only problem I have with this fan film is, no morphing sequence and the look of the dragon dagger (sometimes, the classics are the way to go).
Excellent job Zordon Fanfilm, and I am looking forward to Zordon of Eltar, and I liked Sophia Reaves as Kimberly.
I enjoyed the nods, not only to Mighty Morphen, but Power Rangers as a whole.

I liked Zordon of Eltar more, but this was still good. Alot of people seem to have an issue with the casting, but I think the dialogue was more to blame. Plus I noticed that there were times where the dialogue could have worked, but the pauses between people talking were slightly too long. Keep on going, these are great.

After 10,000x's watching this... Ok 10 times, I had to chime in and say that this was well done. No doubt! As a fan of the original PR from the start, I have to say that over all this film was not a 20 year anniversary tribute, but really a tribute to its fans. Its as advertised, it is indeed "re-imagined". It can be enjoyed for those not familiar with PR. However, it throws in little bits here and there that only fans would get! No action! Just an alluring story!

I can't help but wonder.. if some of the moon scenes were edited in, in-between the interviews with Caplan... Sort of as an intense lead into what's coming.
Of course with a kids show, there has to be comic relief. Look at not just Bulk & Skull, but the principal and his wig. I didn't mind he was a hard a** in this version. I kind of expect to see that should you get Bulk & Skull in the next one. And Trini being a total 180 from the original was.. wow!
Can't wait for your next releases! If you do another TWA, I can't wait to see some of the antics with the villains on the moon. Those were always my favorites. I liked Finster!

This fan film takes power rangers to a whole new level especially with Jason's parents being astronauts. Even though in the real MMPR they didn't really say what the parents did for a living. All in all great fan film

***** I can give you an answer to why Saban hasn't taken this down. First off, it has a disclaimer in the beginning of the video (which, at first Power/Rangers didn't have). Second (and more importantly), this fanfilm has the heart of what the Power Ranger franchise is and tries to make it a little more mature without going overboard. Power/Rangers was dark and gritty and too R rated just for the sake of it, if I watched it and the characters names were never mentioned and there was no suits I would never thought it was about power rangers. This franchise is watched by many children and I'm sure Saban didn't want Power/Rangers confused with the upcoming official movie reboot with Lionsgate, which is a good reason for Saban to initially take it down especially if it didn't have any disclaimers.Third, I'm sure that the real reason as to why Power/Rangers got more views than this was NOT because of how good it was but how controversial it was. In the end it was a generic and mindless action movie short that used the power rangers property, I don't even know why people call it a fanfilm smh.
TWA and ZOE are true fanfilms because these where made by an actual fan. Director Joseph Kahn and Producer Adi Shankar (of Power/Rangers) are NOT fans of the franchise and don't even respect it, the director himself even said that it's "a silly property". The only thing wrong with TWA is that it was shot in like two days and didn't have a huge budget (ZOE has more time put into it and the trailers show that), the only things that I can give credit to Power/Rangers for is the bigger budget, special effects and use of known actors, other than that TWA trumps it in story, heart, respecting the source material/canon and getting the characters right. I'll take what TWA and ZOE offers any day than an over the top R rated short with Dawson and Katie Sackoff trying to convice me that I'm watching something about Power Rangers.
HHHHBK718 Sensationalism quite unfortunately is the key to journalism because no one would read or watch the news otherwise. that's how powerful it is. It's also the key to making you forget or not notice events the government doesn't want you knowing about. Also, just so you know, attribution does not make anything any amount of fair use. The ironic thing about stuff like gamergate is that it only serves to fuel the journalists' lack of integrity(the only winning move is not to play, or it would be if so many people weren't sheep, which effectively turns it all into a no-win scenario, hell, I bet it was all part of Kotaku's plan). Sensationalism is also used in things like advertising and propaganda, tons of people notice it, and many sheep buy into it. Power/Rangers has a bunch of sheep that are of the sort Nostalgia Critic described better than I could in his bayformers 4 review. Pretty much everything he said can be paraphrased for Power/Rangers.

+HHHHBK718 This is months later but I hope you know that power/rangers was bad on purpose. It was never meant to be good. Read what the director wrote about it beyond that Power Rangers is silly, which it totally is but in a good way.
He was tired of Hollywood making everything gritty and dark and set out to take a goofy kids show and make it overwhelmingly violent and dark and edgy to show how stupid Hollywood is now. Power/Rangers wasn't making fun of Power Rangers, it was making fun of Hollywood's obsession with grit for the sake of grit.
Also I'm three minutes and I'm reading the comments because nothing has happened yet. I'm sure this picks up when the kids are introduced but Man does this opening go on too long.

You people who say this was bad because there were no rangers, this was a reboot concept. You know how (and expensive) it would have been to get real ranger outfits. They only had 500bucks. Maybe we'll be lucky and when they get more money they'll make more. If not, appreciate what they did for us. This was amazing

Zordon Fanfilm Just wanted to say, I really enjoyed your fan film. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it lived up to the title, "Teenagers with Attitude." And I like how you changed the personalities/dynamic of teens. Cause let's face, the original 5, as beloved as they were, were pretty 1 dimensional. As for trini, loved what you did with here, I learned more about here in this special than the original in 1.5 seasons. I know people wouldn't think she's ranger material, but when you first met eric from time force, would you consider ranger material? At here core, she has the hear to stand up for others, which is more than enough to be chosen to be a ranger. Overall, I loved, looking forward what else you bring.

This was awesome! I went in thinking it wasn't going to be good but I ended up loving it! Great twists on some of the Races and plays on names! I can't wait to see if you do more movies to further along this story! Keep up the great work!!!

Very enjoyable take on this! Don't care for Zordon's super-alien face (a bit more mystery might have helped this). Kaplan (Caplan?) was a bit overdone and the dialog paced a bit strange (but still high quality for the production). With that said, the shaky camera was tough to deal with and left me with a bit of a queasy stomach after finishing. I liked the framing, however. Billy looked like he wouldn't be bullied. Trini was my favorite followed closely by Jason. Zach then bill rounded it out with Kimberly being my least favorite. Maybe I just have something against people who stare at their phone all the time ;-)
Okay, it took a bit to get going, but in the end, that was FANTASTIC! I always say that casting and characters is one of the most important things. Well...The caste here was spot on. Great diversity and attitude (hence the title). I can't really decide who was my favorite, because they all were great in their roles as the power rangers. If you follow this film up with a sequel, which would be AWESOME to see, keep the caste here. They just...fit the role so perfectly!
who knew that Jason was orphaned by Rita and Zack was a trouble maker and Billy and Kimberly are step brother and sister and Trini was a scraper with a knife before a power ranger and Finster was human once and that Angel Grove is in Hawaii.LOL Joking aside I love the opening and I cant wait till Teenagers With Attitude comes out. May the power protect us all. Booyah!!
