Though it seems rare, sometimes when he rises up to fall down and explode, starting with phase 2, I've noticed he may skip the recovery time from that and go straight into another attack. Did that ever happen to you during your attempts and if so, ever notice a pattern for what causes it?
Happened a lot and ended the run almost every time due to the weird lightning after the explosion i couldn't see well Also there isn't any indicator to when he will do it He just does it whenever he likes My advice is that you always assume he's going to attack again so be ready to roll He will do one of these 3 Linear madness laser Fly sweeping attack The multi laser attack Depending on your position you can evade the 3 attacks by simply dodging towards him

I wondered if it's even intended because it seemed buggy, like maybe if he lands slightly weird on the floor he "falls" for a split second canceling the recovery or something. I really like this fight but this was like the one thing in it that just always seemed off to me
I guess the hype was about you fighting the lord of frenzied flame and compared to some bosses in the dlc he's pretty good not hard at all and fair unlike radahn for example

@OccasionalGoof i think it's intended just to punish players for greeding since you can do fully charged R2 after the explosion

Midra isn't that hard
Took me only 4 hours and 30+ tries to do it
