I'm currently updating mine. Some of the Arri owners I know have purchased the GH6 for the ProRes capabilities, so I'm sure they'll be interested in getting the Log C update as well.
Good to hear. Oh yeah, if you are already mixing footage with Arri cameras then I think it would be a no-brainer to make life easier in the editing phase.

Oh really, well I'm glad you have enjoyed using it. It's a very underrated camera in my opinion. It does have its flaws but that is the same for all cameras. I am kind of in the same boat, I am happy with it and not in a rush to upgrade but I am tempted by some of the new features on the GH7.

I wish they would add proxy recording to the sd card when using the CF card or ssd.

I have asked Lumix if RT Luts are coming and the agent wasnt sure, also asked about the App being useable with the GH6 but again unsure, asked to register my interest and left them an after chat survey to request real time luts for the GH6
Yeah I think they always tend to remain pretty tight-lipped about any future updates across the camera lines. Thats good to put the request out there, the more people that push for it and be vocal, the more likely it is to ever happen.
As a gh6 user i feel dissapointment. Why no new usefull features like real time lut or new e-stab with warping correction. Just raw or paid options for professionals.
They may come in future firmware updates but it looking less and less likely 🫤

It seemed to be addressed a little in earlier firmware updates, although they didn't add that in the release notes.
I think I upgraded GH6 just once and it looks that's it for me. Unless this ARRI log is a game changer, I won't bother.
Yeah to be honest V Log is very good, so unless you have a specific use-case for Arri LogC3 you probably don't need it. But its always there as an option if you do in the future.
Thanks for the video! So, the GH6 uses ARRI Log C, but it doesn’t have real-time LUT support, right? It seems like the GH6 has fewer log view assistant options compared to the G9II, GH7, and S5II. I hope the GH6 can get more in future updates.

Yes, I believe you can jump straight up to version 3.0 from there. If you are on version 2.0 or lower you would have to update to version 2.2 first though.

One question is the luminance level of Vlog when recording apple pro res Video data range or not?
From what I know every 10 bit vlog footage recorded in mov format is usually 0-1086 so full range...and prores is video range?
It is so confusing specially because over HDMI vlog prores HQ is recorded full range and you need to manually change the luminance level in resolve to full to have a proper exposed image (at least with my S5 org and even S5X if not the image is too contrasty...
Hi, I don't use Resolve but I know when you shoot in Log on the GH6 the range is locked to 64-940 (video range). If you are changing options in Resolve as well I don't know if it interprets it as 0-1023 which would make it look a little off. There are much better people out there to answer this one unfortunately 🙂

@@filipmichalsaffray441 No problem, yeah I have only used the Atomos Recorders a handful of times on rental. But the frames etc you can use in each setting are a bit mind-boggling sometimes, even the ones just in the camera.
The only feature I’m interested in and hoped Lumix would include is the real time lut feature. Disappointed that it’s not included.
Sadly they did say upfront on their website that real-time LUT wouldn't be available for the ARRI LogC3 update. It would be nice if they did add that feature though.
Do you have a video of how you color a vlog and convert it to rec709?
I first convert the vlog to rec709 using lut, and then do the color correction. Am I doing the right thing?
No, I have never really done any colour grading videos. Yeah, so if you are just looking for a 'standard' look then you can just use the V Log to Rec709 LUT from Panasonic and then just tweak that to your liking. If you want something a bit more colour specific then you can look through the Panasonic V Log LUT library or a 3rd Party V Log LUT library and see if there is a nice base point there for you to work from.
Hey! I updated my GH6 to 3.0 and now batteries are draining very fast. Have anyone else noticed this? Can I downgrade the firmware?
I haven't noticed that. You can't downgrade firmware, you would have to reset your camera in the settings menu. Are you using official batteries or 3rd party versions?

@@linnanjanne Very strange. The battery life on the GH6 isn't the best to be honest. Especially when using an SSD.
@@stevelitton Yes, very strange indeed. I actually just switched from SSD to CFexpress card. I will do some tests and provide information on how it goes.
@@linnanjanne It could potentially be the fan running at a slightly higher level, that can be a bit of a battery drain.
ARRI LogC3 on GH5 soon =)?
I am not sure it would have quite the same appeal on the GH5 due to it only having 4K 60 in 8-bit. Whereas the GH6 and GH7 shoot 10-bit video for the majority of options. But there is nothing to stop you from shooting in V LogL and doing some transforms in your editing suite to get it closer to Arri LogC3.
So nothing new really.
If you aren't interested in the Arri LogC3 picture profile or the new XLR2 adapter, no.

@@stevelitton with v2.5 there was a two second delay between pressing the shutter button and the start of recording. With version 3, ten seconds ago

@@stevelitton This is when I film whether in 4K or 1080p. I use ANGELBIRD cf type B se and sx faster but I have the same result

È totalmente inutile...aspettavamo un firweare per ripagarci dell'uscita gh7 che ha ucciso definitivamente gh6...mi aspettavo una lut istantanea o un miglioramento negli isobuster e invece esce con l'inutilità assoluta facendo in modo che gh6 finisca al più presto nella spazzatura e ci invoglia a comprare la nuova che nulla è se non una gh6 a contrasto di fase.
Yeah, I get your frustrations. They have held a lot back from the GH6 and who knows if it will ever come 🤷 This is more of a support firmware update than anything else, there are no additional features included.
Panasonic need to STOP launching firmware like they're launching a new camera. The latest S5ii firmware was ridiculous that they embargoed it and made sure all the youtubers reviewed it before it was launched the rest of us common scum.
I can kind of understand it, they are essentially beta testing the firmware with them because they are all using Panasonic's cameras that are out on loan. So if the cameras have issues it makes no difference, they own the cameras. They are basically just making sure the new firmware is bug-free and ready to use in a ton of different use-cases before sending it out for general release. I personally like that they do robust testing on the firmware before it is released. Being sold a camera off the back of a firmware update through TH-cam videos, not so much.
It’s a shame that they charge money for something they should be providing for free.
Yeah, it would have been nice as a free upgrade but in reality there is probably only a very small percentage of people out there who want or need it.

Yeah, I think for a lot of people it is not much of an update. I still do them though just to get the latest bug fixes for the camera.
