I have bought some sanwha branded volt and current meters on aliexpress, they seem to have quite good isolation and have isolation between the measurement line and the actual power lines which helps when using my isolation transformer
8:28 that green connector on the back of the second meter almost cost me my 3D printer , it cough fire once ,i actually saw flames and smoke and it charred the pcb ,good thing i always keep an eye on my 3d printer and cough it relatively fast , replaced it with a way better screw terminal and its been great when i told the electronics shop i usually buy stuff from he offered me the same connector again ,but one look at my face and he reached out for another beefier connector on the spot the limit was around 200 W it was for the heated bed , it came installed on the pcb so i didnt question it
Thankfully the connectors are not used for anything high-current on these meters, though 200 W at mains voltage is not a lot of current either ... It must have had a severe defect.
Did you have a bad christmas? I made this video to give people a chance to look inside of these meters in case they're considering buying them for themselves.
@FFcossag, and thank you for doing that. I need a couple of volt and amp metres, and I'm not willing to pay a couple of hundred Euros for them. Seeing the cheap ones tested and reviewed is a big help.
have you tried out and tested things like jsy-mk-333 too? those have pt's to the mains. but fun too. those are bare pcb modules of course. 400v is across header with 2 empty separator pins
They are a lot better than I thought they would be. The volt meter looks better than the vote meter I bought in the USA to use for a project. If they do what you need, they're worth it. The quality on the PC Board looks pretty good.
@ Sorry, it was a typo, okay? And it is not BS. I have seen some junk even sold in the US. And no, they were not manufactured in the US; they were just important. OK, do you have a problem with it? Loser.
Compared to proper meters, these are not good. However, I would not call them trash. I expected them to be much worse than they were, because a majority of meters in this price range are much worse than these.
Thank you. Nice to see you still around and pursuing projects.

Ooh, hello stranger. You're up late / early!
Late. It's late. ;)
So basically, they're "a bit better than crap", which is high praise for stuff from across the globe... :P
Almost everything comes from across the globe (from an European standpoint). It's all down to features and quality (control)
I can't afford the real thing do I made a 40m video whining about so so cheapos.

That is encouraging to hear, it's always nice to know someone found use in your work.

I haven't tried those. I needed panel meters for this project, that's the only reason I ended up with these.
Please, update video on your life Ludwig.
I'm not sure what you mean. I am alive!
@@FFcossag Do a tour of what's going on in your life, in other words.
Oh, I see. Well, for the time being that can quite adequately be summed up as "puppy", hehe.

BS, and it's VOLT, not vote.

Well, you just phrase "trash" with other words...
