Hi Melissa. Glad you are feeling better. We usually decorate the friday after Thanksgiving. I dont do as much as I used to. My kids are 45 and 33.....both live at home, but as they are not children, I don't go overboard with decorations. Sometimes we put our big tree up plus 2 tabletop size trees. This year, I'm just putting up our 2 small trees. We do put lights and garland around our windows. We leave our trees, lights and garland up till around mid-March. The winter is so cold and dreary and the nights are so long and the trees and lights give our house such a warm feeling. (We take our room decorations down in January.) A few years ago we left our big tree up till June.....only took it down cause we had to put our air conditioner in the window....lol!! Our Thanksgiving dinner will be very simple since it's just the 4 of us. Im making a small ham, and since my daughter doesn't like ham, I'm also making grilled chicken strips. Also making stuffing or mashed potatoes, corn casserole, green beans, and gravy. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.

me and my husband are 21 years together. we have 3 kids, eldest is turning 20, middle is turning 18, and my youngest has just reached 13. my hubby's name is Darren. we decorate for xmas the last weekend of november, we have a winter wonderland theme. love your videos, hope you have good holiday. xxxxx

Congrats on 20 years! My husband and I are almost at 20! Glad y'all are feeling better (I did reach out and mentioned we had all been sick too). My son is literally sitting behind me coughing up a storm. I keep threatening to make him go to his room lol. We're sitting in the computer room together. Think we might take him to urgent care tomorrow. I typically decorate after thanksgiving. My husband did bring the tree out so I could fluff it, but I still haven't had a chance to fluff it yet lol. I might tomorrow. No decor out yet though (aside from fall). I'm cooking a very simple menu too. Cheated and bought a turkey breast to throw in the crockpot. Doing simple sides. Girl, I feel you on Florida. That's where we're from (Jacksonville and my dad lives near Bradenton). It's hot, humid, muggy and gross nearly year round. I miss it sometimes, but honestly love Virginia. We have every season and so much historic sites and history. Great place to raise our kids, amazing schools and colleges. Our son got early acceptance to Virginia Tech earlier this month! Would probably never go back to Florida after spending half my life there. Come to the Shenandoah Valley! Beautiful here.

@@Melissa_Irene Honestly, I almost didn't do turkey because I hate cooking whole ones! I've done it a few times and just never enjoy it! I'll usually just cook a ham instead. I always say I'm going to decorate earlier too then I never do lol. It's a lot of work! I think I'm going to go pretty simple for decor this year though. In our previous house we had cathedral ceilings (15ft) so I had these gorgeous 9ft tress. I loved them so much (I'm a tree junkie lol), but our new house only has 8ft ceilings (it's a traditional colonial style) so I have to have a much shorter tree. They're just not as inspiring/grand so I might only put 1 up this time. My girl's want their pink Christmas tree put up in their room too. They love it (they're 9 and 5). I can't disappoint them. So that is 2 trees I'll at least put up. Christmas is just weird now because my husband and I have both lost our moms (1yr apart). I feel like we've been in sort of a funk ever since. Our son is super excited to have been accepted early (engineering program). He's worked so hard doing dual enrollment, AP and honors. We're so happy for him!

Hi Melissa, We leave our Fall decor up until after TG dinner. Then everyone gathers the Fall stuff & takes to the garage. Then the Christmas stuff comes in & we start decorating. We will be only 7 for TG this year. I am still hosting after all these years ( I’m 78). My menu is Butterball Turkey Breast, Stuffing, Gravy, Mashed Potatoes, Sweet Potatoes, Fancy Green Beans, Mac & Cheese, Cranberry-Apple Sauce, Rolls, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Satin Pie. I’m using more convenience foods this year but putting my own little spin on them.
I get it. We were from NY and every year we would go to Marco Island for vacation. We absolutely love it - but not to live because it's always humid, even on cool days. We decided on Texas where you get sun all the time, but only humidity sometimes.

Flory is a vacation state! I’m coming dow there December 13-18 to our condo on Daytona Beach then Orlando to sea world. Here in northwest Indiana is a 4 season state I only hate the snow. It’s pretty but such a mess to shovel and messy slick roads. I would like to move to Texas. Wishing you and you family a very blessed thanksgiving ❤❤❤
😂 I laughed when you said your hubby was bragging about his immune system cuz i was doing the same thing... everyone in my house is sick. My youngest has been home from school for 2 days because of it. And I'm like "yep... my immune system won't let me get sick" .... sure enough this morning i woke up feeling the itchy throat 😖. I threw back some buckleys a couple times today and it seems to have helped... i hope anyway 😂.
LOLOL! See that’s your karma! He usually doesn’t get sick but he said I was coughing all over him the other night (allegedly) and either way it’s that season I guess! Hope you feel better friend! ♥️
I was born in Miami and we moved to Michigan when I was 13. I will never go back to Florida…dislike the humidity so much. I live in Utah now where it is over 100 degrees all summer but bone dry and is so much more tolerable. Dry heat is the way to go.
Meditate ONLY on JESUS and he will help her relieve your stress. Our town is very small with 1 caution light. Across the street from our front yard are pecan orchards, cows and our backyard neighbors are goats. We have 9 acres of peaceful surroundings. We don't even lock our cars at night. We could probably sleep with our doors unlocked and be perfectly safe. Our country church is a minute and a half away which we walk to sometimes. the leaves in the fall are just gorgeous on our road with maple, bradford pears and all other types of trees that are just full of color. I wish, I could send you pictures.
Here in New England, we get a little bit of everything with all four seasons 💚
