The Athens tram is nice, and the beach connectivity is nice and all, but as a citizen I'll say that the company needs to handle it better. The frequency is inconsistent and should get better. The connectivity is really bad for no reason, while it was better before. The lines should be Syntagma-Agia Triada, Syntagma-Asklipiio Voulas, Agia Triada-Asklipiio Voulas (The rail change that Syntagma to Agia Triada would use was already made and now it's unused). Also the expansion to Peiraius was handled poorly and the the station Akti Poseidonos was never made. Trams should get the same care as the Metro, cuz it's one of the only ways to access South Athens with railway 😅
Line 4 and 5 being scrapped was a huge mistake, in my opinion. I used to take 5 from Fix to Voula. I just opt for a bus instead now, rather than changing trams.
Thank you for the nice video. Very touching for me. I am Indonesian who happend to lived in Greece for a solid 9 years, cos' I worked in the yatch. I missed Greece and those islands I have ever visit. Such as Mykonos, Folegandros, Sifnos, Tinos, Paros, and some I canr remember the name. Hopefully I can re-visit again just for a holiday. Kali kalokairi, gia mas Ellada mou!
Kalo Kalokairi and thanks for watching :) I hope you can visit Greece again soon and do some beach exploring on all of the islands you visited during the yachting business, and explore them firsthand! 🌞
It looks like they have a good system. You can probably go from the airport to Piraeus to catch a cruise. I wonder if the graffiti tram had a bathroom for the drivers?
Although the layout of the tram interchange is interesting and convenient, as there is cross-platform interchange to both directions of the costal route, the trams are not timed for instant interchange and the two lines still share a common section, which reduces capacity. Before 2021, an interchange was not required as there was a route between each two of the three legs of the network.
Athens and other European cities have to do something about graffiti. It just gives a negative vine. NYC dealt with this by continually removing it as soon as it appeared. It eventually wears out the graffiti vandals.
In my opinion, the tram should have less frequent stops and higher speeds, like a suburban railway, as currently it is often slower than the bus routes which parallel it.
Hey guys in Cyprus i am very comfortable to leave my bags and items on the sun bead while I go into the sea without the fear of it being robbed, is it the same in Athens, is it safe to leave my things at the sun bed if I am alone
Is it safe? Most likely But you can never be too sure. I've never been robbed of my stuff at a beach, but it is such an easy theft that I can imagine it happening.
There is a fee for the tram, and some of the private beaches/beach clubs have a fee. There are also free beaches in Athens! I visited Kalamaki Beach here Sunbeds are cheap to rent at around 5-10 EUR 🌞🌞
Any city with trams (and trains) is worth visiting. In NZ most places no longer have trains-it’s largely car centric which just daily enriches Big Road Cartels. Wellington kept its suburban rail and Auckland is reviving 1950’s rail plans after almost destroying itself with motorways. Not any city has a rail link to any airport. There are a few (expensive)“tourist” trains for rich people. Sadly the 2024 Govt is anti-Rail, unsupportive, defunding rail upkeep 97%, whilst wasting Billions $$ on ridiculously expensive 1950’s highways/roads that will eventually bankrupt the country.

The athens tram opened in 2004. Between 1977 and 2004 athens had no tram.
It looks like they have a good system. You can probably go from the airport to Piraeus to catch a cruise. I wonder if the graffiti tram had a bathroom for the drivers?
It is a great tram system! You can actually connect from the airport using the Metro system
A bathroom in that graffiti tram would be clever!
🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷♥️♥️♥️
Thanks for watching! Greece is forever beautiful 🇬🇷
my fav train for sure missing it so much! )
I hope you get to ride it again soon :)
Very enjoyable ride 😎

Ah this is interesting!

"There's a lot of graffiti in Athens". The centre. Because you won't see them in almost any of the suburbs, and if you do, they're not nearly as many.
Yes that is true!
In my opinion, the tram should have less frequent stops and higher speeds, like a suburban railway, as currently it is often slower than the bus routes which parallel it.
Hello dear, Wanne travel to Athens alone . My I ask you the top places to visit during my visit ) thanks
Visit the Acropolis, Temple of Hephaestus, Archaeological Museum and Lycabettus Hill!
There’s so much to explore too after you see those 😍
Where did you change trams? For the beach?
You can switch from the T6 line to T7 line at Pikrodaphne/Πικροδάφνη. There are other beach spots along the T6 line before the transfer!
Hi pls can you tell me the exact name of the beach thank you
Kalamaki Beach in Alimos
2:42 it’s Greek Messi 😂
Haha he really does look like Messi!
for real!!!

Yes definitely! Enjoy Cyprus and enjoy your trip to Athens :)
Check out Lake Vouliagmeni near Athens for a nice swim too

Do you have to pay if you want to go there?

the 2021 timetable is no longer valid.

Beautiful and public transport dont go together in athens buddy
🤣🤣🤭
Wow! There’s a lot of graffiti that poor tram which was from the 70s. Are there many gangs in Athens is that who’s doing all this graffiti. ??
Nothing like that! Just aspiring graffiti artists 😉
