    I looooove a sleeper train. Did it a lot in china to save on hostel costs (and my fear of flying 😮). One of the best I’ve done is from London to Edinburgh in the UK. ❤

      It definitely helps if you have a flying fear! Plus, it’s more comfortable than a plane anyways 🙂 Was it the Caledonian Sleeper? I took that a few years ago, before TH-cam - It was the highlight of the trip 😍

      Yes! All of the 7 mystic Onsen are tattoo friendly, no worries there! ☺️ The only exception is some of the hotels or ryokans might have their own rules regarding their private baths. So double check to make sure when you book a place to stay!

    Thank you for this very nice video ! I like taking overnight trains, and one of my highlights was taking the Transsib from Moscow to Vladivostok (several years ago) in winter. I also had the pleasure to take the Rovos Rail from Pretoria to Cape Town (a very expensive luxury train in South Africa) and the Ghan from Alice Springs to Adelaide. The Sunrise Express looks very nice, however, the room would be too small for me (I dont feel comfortable in such small places). I would only consider it, with a single deluxe (which looks bigger). I have been to Takamatsu and Naoshima Island, and I can really recommend both those places. I havent been to Tottori yet, but its on my bucket list, especially for the sand dunes museum, which looks so amazing.

    A friend in my Japanese conversation club sent me to this video. This is the kind of thing I would like to do… And I have a friend who might come with me who would absolutely love all that seafood. The natural areas look great for exploration. Of course I’m going to have to see a big city if I go to Japan, but these are the kinds of places that would heal my soul.

    • @SoloTravelPOV
      @SoloTravelPOV 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      A conversation club sounds so fun, I am jealous! I agree, the big cities are popular for a reason, but when you are tired, visit Kinosaki to replenish your body! But honestly, if you find any onsen near your travels, I would say go for that! There are plenty of beautiful onsen towns in Japan, and you can heal at any one of them ☺️💛 Seafood is also abundant all around!

    Is there any private car tour that can take us from tokyo to shirakawago? Im planning to go this feb but my mother has difficulties riding buses

    • @SoloTravelPOV
      @SoloTravelPOV 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I looked up options and there doesn’t seem to be much choices from Tokyo to Shirakawago direct on a car service, or not enough reviews so I’m not sure how much to trust those. It might be easier to take the Shinkansen to one of the big three cities, Kanazawa, Takaoka or Toyama. Then from there, there is an abundance of private car tours that are reasonably priced and also has a lot of reviews. You will then be only ~1 hour away by car to Shirakawago! The Shinkansen from Tokyo to those 3 cities is fast (~2hrs) and very comfortable, and might even be more pleasant than a direct 5 hour car ride from Tokyo to Shirakawago. My only worry would be that Tokyo Station is big and hectic, so get there early to take your time boarding! I too want to bring my mom to see Shirakawago one day, so I have been thinking about easier routes like this to accommodate her! ☺️
