He was my least favorite Evan that I've seen. His upper register is just not that strong. All of his high notes were so strained it was horrible to listen to. Good actor but vocally just not strong enough for Evan. He probably should have been an understudy.
Knowing that Andrew won this whole thing and was picked to star in Dear Evan Hansen, when he starting singing I was like "oh he's pretty good" then once the boys circled around him and he threw out that absolutely spotless riff I was like :o
amanda kemmerer I was cast as him in our shows version of it, and to be honest, it was kind of hard to do, because he’s such a prick, lmfao, and I’m very... not, I guess lol, but it was so much fun to get to do that!
Ginny Weasley First Quasimodo won best actor at our Tommy Tunes and he was honestly phenomenal. He was definitely sick here or maybe lost his voice because his performance at our awards was deserving of best actor without a doubt.
I’ve known mark since kindergarten and have grown up with him until he graduated last year. I’m a stage manager and I always knew he was talented but I didn’t understand the extent of it until recently because he was always right there. If this video proved anything it’s how much I’ve taken him for granted. Seeing him among other top competitors and standing out... I am eternally proud.
It was actually my school haha. We're the local performing arts school so we usually push the envelope and our admin is more allowing. We also did RENT a couple years ago and we were the school to premiere Miss Saigon for high schools
No tea, no shade but it was NOT good. The problem was they have Mormon donors, so they censored the Hell out of the show which was such a problem for Eddie’s character. He literally hardly swore. I mean, the kids did the best that they could but also Rose was perfectly skinny and not at all ‘ugly?’ Like it made no sense for her to be at a Dogfight... Like I said: the kids did a good job but overall it just wasn’t the right school for LVA.
Also, Garret Morris is really great too, he seems to have a bit of trouble on the high notes but he definetly nails the role of Quasimodo, giving it his heart and passion, and he has amazing vibratio.
OH MY WORD, Jean Valjean goes after Snoopy and sings "pretend I do not know his agony" after Snoopy sang about wanting food (Jean Valjean's family was starving at one point), I'm DYING 😂😂😂
@@patriciajune5 that also happened with the Baker from Into the Woods once. It's fairly typical for them to put people playing the same roles in one group.
Commenting two years later to say Jeremy (Snoopy) is under appreciated he was fantastic even though his song is arguably less of a show off number. The energy and those vocal growls man.
Andrew is going to be such a star. I simply cannot wait to see his future endeavors! Wonderful voice, acting, and charisma. And of course they’re all wonderfully talented!
I did hunchback twice this, once at my school and once professionally, and our Quasimodo at my school put on one of the best performances I’ve ever seen, even compared to professionals. He got snubbed for the blue stars (our prerequisite for the Jimmy’s). These two were fine, but I must say, Griffin Leander was amazing.
Declan F. First Quasimodo won best actor at our Tommy Tunes and he was honestly phenomenal. He was definitely sick here or maybe lost his voice because his performance at our awards was deserving of best actor without a doubt.
I watched the video of the Tommy Tunes, and you're right, he was definitely better then. However, I still felt he paled in comparison to a lot of the other performers like the Frollo, Bobby Child, and Lord Farquaad, and possibly some others. However, of course I didn't see his actual performance, but I'm sure he was great then!
Declan F. Their school swept the entire awards, best actor, actress, musical etc. our school was tied for most nominations with them for 13/15 but they won about 11 I think
im recognising Cole Duffy from his video singing sincerely me in his class I think, he was Connor in that & its equally as great. I suggest watching!!!
HOW DID EVERYONE HERE PREDICT THE ANDREW CASTING FOR DEAR EVAN HANSEN
We been knew
all the comments about Andrew and Dear Evan Hansen aged _so_ well.
why is no one talking about pippin’s riff? he had such stage presence!!
YESSS ACTUALLY THO KINDA WISH HE WAS AT LEAST A FINALIST
EXACTLY
Riff was amazing; too bad the first note on "have" was flat. But his tone on his long notes cleared my acne.
2:27 FLAAaAaAâAaäÆàÁÆYYYYY
Can you imagine Andrew Feldman singing Waving Through A Window I would lose my mind.
this aged well
Kenny Brian And now we get to!
When I saw him in Dear Evan Hansen, the applause after that song went for 5 minutes
I have witnessed it all live!
Kenny Brian it’s amazing, i’m so lucky to have heard it live
the vIBRATO ON ANDREW FELDMAN. Dear Evan Hansen casting directors or whomever take notice
this comment aged well
Well, it's your lucky day because he just got cast as the new Evan Hansen and will start performances at the end of January 2019
Katie O'Connor I-
max hope like fine wine
He was my least favorite Evan that I've seen. His upper register is just not that strong. All of his high notes were so strained it was horrible to listen to. Good actor but vocally just not strong enough for Evan. He probably should have been an understudy.
oK but the dude who played Pippin snatched me with the riffs
Knowing that Andrew won this whole thing and was picked to star in Dear Evan Hansen, when he starting singing I was like "oh he's pretty good" then once the boys circled around him and he threw out that absolutely spotless riff I was like :o
The switch between snoopy and jean val jean was HILARIOUS
yesss!!
LMAOO
I'm sorry but the riffs in Corner of the Sky made me spit my drink out
i freaking know right. i was caught offguard. like dang!!
Sarah Lovett RIGHT
Haha same😂🧐 if you don't know the song it wil be beautiful though😉
@Yeetie Wheatie No Pippin, the second guy
Rightttttt goosebumps all over!!
The Prince from Once Upon A Mattress gives BIG Gaston vibes.
agreed
Sir Harry had basically the same vibes as Gaston. He blames his GF for getting pregnant with his kid lmao
amanda kemmerer I was cast as him in our shows version of it, and to be honest, it was kind of hard to do, because he’s such a prick, lmfao, and I’m very... not, I guess lol, but it was so much fun to get to do that!
get someone to look at you the way Andrew Barth Feldman looks at everyone
Morgan Baily true
First Quasi sounds like he may have been sick. That's unfortunate timing.
AWorldWithoutTenors He was definitely sick. I’ve worked with him and i know he has an outstanding voice.
Poor First Quasi. He was probably sick
samisntalesbian When he sang i felt the pain. He was for sure sickkkk
i know! and you can TELL that he is a really good singer
That was so painful to watch, I felt so bad for him
i had something similar happen to me. I had a performance and ended up having someone else sing my solo because I would have a coughing fit
ummmm who gave you the right to kill that riff in Goodbye???????
Snoopy is not getting the credit he deserves. Not gonna lie bout that.
facts
Are we just about to sleep on snoopy?? He was insane! And his background facial expressions were great!
so good!!!
Honk shoo
Holy shit that second Quasimodo was fantastic. That is not an easy song to sing. Everyone did great!
Ginny Weasley he's amazing,, I'm apart of his local awards program and god he's amazing
Ginny Weasley First Quasimodo won best actor at our Tommy Tunes and he was honestly phenomenal. He was definitely sick here or maybe lost his voice because his performance at our awards was deserving of best actor without a doubt.
Ginny Weasley IKR
Mark had to be my fave too.... mainly cause i know him😂
I’ve known mark since kindergarten and have grown up with him until he graduated last year. Andrew has the perfect voice for evan hansen 😍
this comment aged well
okay can we just talk about the fact that a high school did dogfight
Claire Riley bahahaha my EXACT thoughts!
My county had one last year as well
My high school premiered it, had to cut every f bomb
It was actually my school haha. We're the local performing arts school so we usually push the envelope and our admin is more allowing. We also did RENT a couple years ago and we were the school to premiere Miss Saigon for high schools

Like I said: the kids did a good job but overall it just wasn’t the right school for LVA.
Andrew Feltman reminds me of Ben Fankhauser for some reason. I think some of his runs remind me of Ben haha.
Anne van Bruggen my exact thoughts!!!
Anne van Bruggen EXACTLY
He's like a mix of Ben Platt and Ben Fankhauser.
he’s actually gonna play evan starting late January 2019
Anne van Bruggen go and look it up the POOR gUyS hEaD is sPiNNinG
That transition from Valjean to Topher I'm s c r e a m i n g
Andrew Feldman is hot. Just gonna put that out there.
hey aren’t you also a Jimmy’s nominee???
J. J. Yes I am hahahahaha
I agree.
why am i just seeing this
Can we appreciate Grasshopper’s costume and riffs?
I just noticed that Riley, the boy who played the grasshopper, is on mini stilts. That's impressive.
omg but the high notes in made of stone were amazing
Sophia Bouzid thanks on his behalf
half the comments are abt andrew and how he should be evan hansen... our prayers have been answered
Why is no one talking about the grasshopper?? He sounded so good!
Grasshopper was fantastic!
Gabrielle Smith i agree 110%
YES!!
Yes he's amazing
Laughton Berry is one of the greatest singers I’ve ever heard, stop sleeping on him. He is outstanding.
Also, Garret Morris is really great too, he seems to have a bit of trouble on the high notes but he definetly nails the role of Quasimodo, giving it his heart and passion, and he has amazing vibratio.
yes!! i totally agree about laughton!!!
@@AudacityAcorns i’m super late but he had a really bad cold as far as i know so that’s why he was struggling to get up there
Yeah, I could tell the first young man playing Quasimodo was battling against illness, I feel bad for him
the grasshopper and snoopy were EXCELLENT
andrew feldman is literally ben fankhauser and ben platt in one person
Pleasee why is this so true, he’s a riff and vibrato king
OH MY WORD, Jean Valjean goes after Snoopy and sings "pretend I do not know his agony" after Snoopy sang about wanting food (Jean Valjean's family was starving at one point), I'm DYING 😂😂😂
Why did they put two Quasimodo's in the same group??? That's just mean
Kitty on Pointe oh one year one whole group there was 5 Millie’s nominated for award so they all perform one song and that’s it
@@patriciajune5 that also happened with the Baker from Into the Woods once. It's fairly typical for them to put people playing the same roles in one group.
Patricia Sigmond what year was that?
the BEST was the dueling sweeny todds the year before.
@@patriciajune5 I actually really loved that one!
Snoopy's facial expressions through everyone else's performance is PRICELESS. Love this guy.
second quasimodo crushed it omg
Maddy Redmond yeah mark rocks
It’s hard to believe, but Andrew’s just a sophomore (now junior). He’s insane!
There’s not that many high schools that will do Dogfight or Les Mis. Props to them for taking risks!
more like not every high school can afford the rights. flashy musical = well funded drama dept = stage parents = talented, well trained kids
The Beebz yeah the guy that played Valjean is from my awards and he went to a heavily funded performing arts school
Sir Harry is such a strange role to be nominated for.
Andrew’s riff is so insane I’m still coming back 5 years later to listen to it
UMM.. just passed out after hearing that amazing RIFF from Andrew at 3:21. SO CLEAN. BRAVA dude. BRAVAAA👏🏼👏🏼
The producers of Dear Evan Hanson said THAT was the moment when they started to think he could handle playing Evan
Snoopy blew it out of the park why is everyone sleeping on him
Y’all are sleeping on snoopy so hard omg he’s amazing
Jaylin Rae yeah I love his performance
Can Ben Fankhauser and Andrew Barth Feldman get together and just make a video of them doing a literal "riff off"? k thx!!
Commenting two years later to say Jeremy (Snoopy) is under appreciated he was fantastic even though his song is arguably less of a show off number. The energy and those vocal growls man.
Why aren’t people talking about Laughton Berry more he was fantastic and personally my favorite of the group.
Also the transitions from Snoopy to Jean Valjean to Topher was hilarious and amazing
i can’t do this, all of their riffs & runs & vibratos broke my hip, mom help
Andrew is going to be such a star. I simply cannot wait to see his future endeavors! Wonderful voice, acting, and charisma.
And of course they’re all wonderfully talented!
Also Mark & Jeremy-so incredible. Such stage presence.
And Pippin is so handsome and his riffs are incredible. And Sir Harry’s acting is so good and I love how deep his voice is!
Hes evan Hansen now
and now he's in a movie opposite jennifer lawrence
That topher killed it.
And the grasshopper...wow that whole section!
That's the best Snoopy I think I've ever seen!!!! And the riffs in "Floatin Along" have me SHOOKETH
Topher’s little who am I at the beginning of his song was so cute
the pippin has me QUAKING
Someone cast that Jean Valjean as Coalhouse Walker Jr in Ragtime STAT
damn they all killed but the last two though their timing could not be more perfect
Andrew reminds me of Ben Platt
He's playing Evan Hansen on Broadway in January 2019. It was just announced
@@abbeyfeller2749 lol I know! Its wild!
This comment aged like fine wine
Snoopy brought the energy on this one, big time. Killer stage presence and tone! 10/10
That Jean Valjean is ridiculously mature in his tone for the song. It’s fantastic!
Andrew Feldman is like a young Ben Fankhauser!
The guy who played Snoopy would be an awesome John Laurens
2:46 is the reason i keep coming back here but more specifically 3:22
I wish the Tonys would do this
That second guy who played Quasi NAILS it. Oh man.
Alex B ikr mark is awesome! I went to school with him😱
JEAN VALJEAN KILLING IT OVER HERE
All were brilliant, but Jeremy was my favorite, His voice is amazing and his acting was strong too. Andrew was great ofc and was deserving of the win.
ohh they got fancy with the titles so we remember which actor is doing what. I love it!
Andrew was amazing, we know that cause he won, but Riley was also EXCEPTIONAL.
Andrew!!!! I can totally see why they picked him to be Evan. His voice has a lot of the same qualities that Ben platt has
laughton and andrew.. who gave you the right to melt my heart and bless my ears with those RuUUUUuunNN?!?!?!
3:22 is all I'm gonna say
Emily McDonald Wise words
Noah's shoulders-movement at the beginning of his part cracks me up every time I watch it. great comic timing!
I LOVE JEREMY VANDENHOUT WITH ALL MY ENTIRE HEART
Sarah Hamilfan nah i know him irl it’s vandenhout lmao
The riffs in Goodbye?? SHOOK
the comedic timing of the grasshopper was really good! and those riffs! they were so good!
YES ANDREW HOLY HECK
The riff at 3:23 truly killed me I cannot go on
Holy shit the second Quasimodo was incredible. Star in the making
I LOVE the energy from the guys playing grasshopper, and snoopy!!! Andrew's voice was absolutely amazinggggg too omggg.
The future of musical theatre is looking good! Bless these souls who are honing their crafts and not getting into trouble ❤️
Why is no one appreciating Grasshopper??? He did soooo good and I have no idea how he walks on those things it's definitely the coolest costume
MARK MITRANO (2nd Quasimodo) IM SHOOK BOY!!!!!!! ❤️
Emily Russell isn’t he great??? He won last year
No way!!! He’s absolutely amazing
pippin and grasshopper snatched me not gonna lie those riffs were heaven
Made of Stone always makes me cry
Condemning Snoopy to slavery is low key savage
the transition from snoopy to jean valjean was hilarious

Interesting...I mean all of these things are pretty rigged, I have to say.
The production that won best show at ours didn't even win a single acting award, and wasn't even nominated for very many.
Mark was AMAZING
Unicorn Tacos on behalf of him thx
Nasir Butler was absolutely amazing
The guy who sang from Dog Fight sounds very much like Derek Klena and I kinda love it
I swear the guy who did snoopy is going straight to broadway
im recognising Cole Duffy from his video singing sincerely me in his class I think, he was Connor in that & its equally as great. I suggest watching!!!
every single man in this medley is so good. I. Am. In. Love.
2:47 - i love this whole medley so much but i need this for when i show my sister cuz he's in HSMTMTS now :)
That one clip of Mark Mitrano singing in music rehearsal and the kid next to him is LOSING HIS MIND has lived rent free in my head for years.
yes i got to see andrew barth feldman on broadway! what an amazingly talented evan hansen 💙💙
andrew absolutely killed this. i’m here again
The Actor playing Topher reminds me of AJ Holmes👏🏽
Kassidy No, he got possessed by AJ Holmes
'Who am i' I'm SCREEEEEMING
That transition from Les Mis to Cinderella 😂😂😂
topher? ate that. PERIODT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hi ik this was two years ago but i literally love Andrew Feldman
ok that's all i wanted to say thank you
3:22 Can we just take some time to appreciate this vibrato ?
Funny how I didn't remember writing this comment. It is indeed enjoyable.
What a warm, voluminous Valjean Baritone!
