If I could go back to any moment in time, it would be this, just to bring back our beloved Splash Mountain ride at Magic Kingdom, with the Song of the South characters we know and love, instead of the far inferior Princess and the Frog ones.

Super sad to hear it's closing. I have that ride in my heart given that I have it tied with a memories of my mom and us kids riding that log. She was always super happy to see the animals singing that happy tune.

It makes me sad :( it was such an iconic ride. The grand opening was so special and just because of misguided beliefs that the story behind the ride has a rascist undertone, they destroyed it.

That is very doubtful. Disneyland doesn’t do these grand opening ceremonies. The opening of carsland looked like the opening of the NYE stock exchange .

There's video for the 25th where Mickey is there for the opening but I haven't been able to find anything where you can hear it live

How Sad that This Amazing Ride Closed Off for Good after that Big Grand Opening in 1992 and Then it got a Retheming into the Princess and the Frog. Splash Mountain was such a Huge Hit ever since it Opened at the Disney Parks.

I rode this ride when it was only a few years old. I am excited for the new ride though. I am a fan of the old but sometimes I agree it is time for change and innovation. We all know what Disney can do now for ride tech and its exciting what is possible ahead.

@disneybelle You can get a bootleg DVD of "Song of the South" easily. Just Google "song of the south DVD" and some choices should pop up. I've had my copy for years and the quality is quite good for a bootleg. Prices average about $20.00.

American Disney didn’t want anything to do with it but the fans will always love it! The fans came out on closing day and kept the line at around 3 hours long and broke Disney’s longest line record! Wish I could have been there. It’s Tokyo Disney from now on for me.

This really is the most splashtacular place in the whole world and I want them to keep it forever Disney’s splash mountain is so unforgettable and the best attraction based on song of the south and I love how the landmark of it is that’s what makes it so unique to Frontierland so I wish it could keep inspiring people like me and other Disney fans from all over the world who all come to the most magical place on earth it’s the best and the most memorable place in the world keep it magical ✨ 🥹 🌈 🙏🏻
