Bought the 114 version in 21. Immediately put a RW fairing, a two up seat, and a sissy bar so I could put my bag on it. I also installed my own external breather system with 1/4 hose, a drill, and a brass tee. I soon got Viking patriot saddle bags, and the Trashin bag holder thingy they sell. Highly recommend btw!
Regular maintenance yes, you should be able to do that, to a certain extent, but unless you are really into learning how to customize your bike… what are you going to do on this kind of bikes? New set of bars? Stage 2 the thing and… what else? You can install the saddlebags yourself, passenger foot pegs as well… engine guard… everything else, no problem really, if you understand that it is a one off spent, don’t mind too much if you have to pay someone else who knows how to do it.
I'm subscribing because you actually own this "bicycle"😅, and you recognize that it needs mods immediately, and you're talking about it, plus you know what you'retalkingabout. I'm considering this bike or the Breakout. Your bike looks great with what you have done so far. I'm watching videos until I have time to ride an hour to a Harley dealership so I can size one out. I'm 5'4" and I like forward controls. I have ridden friends Sportsters but, I want to try a big Harley.
Doesn’t need mods. Doesn’t need anything extra. You want mods = Big difference. It has everything it needs hence mine is stock as from the showroom this year.
Agree with you again. I kept my '06 YZFR1 just because I love it and it gets along just fine in the garage with my FXLRS. I can still chose it for a ride with buds depending on who the buds are. My R1 will blow my FXLRS away in terms of speed. For me, the 2 bikes are keepers and each serves it's purpose. By far the R1 is the least expensive bike to own. I bought both new and haven't had to do even $1K to make the R1 my own. The FXLRS? $5K and counting. Yea, the HD is a money pit for sure. Fun though.
Traded in my 2016 Seventy Two sportster for a 2024 Low Rider S in Billiard Grey. Love the bike… once I got over the sticker price. Every time I get off it, i got to do a quick walk around to just admire the damn thing. Great video, love the bags btw!
Added a Bassani Road rage exhaust, arlen ness big brake kit, se/ohlins suspension, powder coated wheels, paint protection film to the entire bike, risers and a stage 4 kit, le pera kick flip seat, thundermax and dyno tune, along with HD over watch bags, SE extreme wedge air filter, Memphis Shade Road warrior fairing and Thrashin Supply controls and it gets fkn expensive I can vouch for that. Thinking about adding all black ARP bolts soon and man she’s a fkn money pit for sure but it’s set up exactly the way I want. Apparently she’s putting out 150hp, pick her up on Friday it’ll be my first ever ride on a HD, can’t fkn wait! It’s been a long wait!
I’ve got no idea mate, it’s all been done before I’ve even ridden the thing. I got a lot of coin from my brother deciding that he didn’t want to live in this world anymore so it’s a tribute to him in a way and a chance for me to get out and clear my head, come this Friday though and I’ll be able to tell you
I think that extreme wedge air filter is basically zero restriction and it’s got a vented dipstick but whether that will help with heat reduction I don’t know, summer time coming up here in Australia, it’ll be interesting for sure. Great video btw, very informative and I can tell you love the bike.
I was thinking to buy it acctualy , but you dont recoment it for long trips this was my point for this bike , what Harley do you recomend for 5h trips in price 20K? maybe the Sport Glide ?? Thanks for the video dude
FXR 2.0 is coming out mid-year 2025. Will be a Low Rider ST on a Touring (FXR Geometry) frame with center cooled 117". All the "good stuff" for 25-27K. Will compete with BUELL Super Cruiser. The Softail "performance" experiment has gone as far as it can go. The 135" crate motor will fit the new FXR 2.0 being a non counter balanced motor.
700$ for a vin unlock? Who’s fucking you bro?? I work for HD.. 265$ for vision for ALLLLLL future tunes. 4 hours in the dyno. Whoever sold you that lied homie.
700 for dyno vin unlock and tune. I didn’t think it was too far off given my car was roughly the same. Pretty sure dyno sets the price but I could be wrong
@@ZizyMoto ahhhh I gotcha. I thought you meant just to START a tune they charged you 700$!!!! I was about to say my brother come see me I will hook you up lol 700$ for all that isn’t bad. I charge 230$ for power vision on the ecm and 115$ a hour and it’s a 4 hour install and dyno. So 700$ is on the money
Youre just being dead honest and that's refreshing. Something people neglect to consider, especially when comparing this bike to the ST. If you can't wrench on your own bike yourself then you're gonna go broke paying a shop to bolt shit on. Nice ride, great review. ML&R
As someone who was interested in one of these bikes I’ll say I don’t see how people justify buying anything HD. The value for money just isn’t there for me personally. For instance I bought a slightly used Yamaha MT09 SP for under half of what you paid. Nowhere near the same kind of bike and it’s apples to oranges here. I just see a huge monetary barrier to entry into the HD world and it’s like a monopoly as HD stands alone amongst the cruiser world. I’ve ridden a few big baggers and maybe could understand the price point if you’re using it for its purpose. I dunno, HD really does seem like it means high dollar. It’s about the experience though and as someone that loves all motorcycles I’d love to have one, I just see a much better bang for your buck with anything Japanese. I’m assuming the hard core Harley guys will say it’s worth it and maybe one day I’ll own one myself, until then I’ll stay away from the HD cool aid. Curious how y’all feel about my thoughts.
I would say that yes they are more expensive in the new market but they do hold there value for resale if you do chose to sell. Now obviously not for a profit but from my little research, it does look like Harley’s hold there price a little better.
@highwayhooligan2517 Apples to oranges, like you said. The experience is totally different, it's like riding a WWII prop plane vs flying a modern jet. I like the analog feel, but it's all about what each person is looking for and what they're willing to spend their money on
It’s all about your location. In San Diego there are so many riders. Here in Florida only about 1/4 of bikes I see on the road. And yeah dropping 5k is easy to do on the bike and I bet you want to drop another 5
Comes with ABS, Cruise Control and a USB port....... Way better than my street glide had lol! I dunno how your bike did not come with it. I paid $19K for mine new from dealer.

I paid similar money 2 weeks ago. You got ABS, btw. You are absolutely right on the tune.

Facts, sport bike is definitely in the near future but gotta keep the lowrider. Gonna finish this build then on to the next. Ride safe!

I can understand that! It is a great bike to ride tho. And thank you. I highly recommend the bags!
What size riser did you get? And how tall are you?
Absolutely love my LRS, 1 of the best bikes I’ve ever owned. Definitely a keeper
I’ll never get rid of it but I think it will be the only Harley I buy. Maybe an older dyna but we’ll see
