  • Hope this helps anyone interested in the RaceChip. It's pretty straight forward. You just have to make sure and wait long enough for the car to "power down" as I call it after putting hood up and locking doors. To be safe I wait about 30 minutes instead of the 10 they suggest

I installed this on my 2021 Forte GT 6 spd OMG WHAT FUN. I didn't think a 4 cylinder could be this much fun. I've used setting 7 and the tires BEG for traction. I also use non-ethnol fuel 90 to 91 octane run fantastic.

Went to dealership for an oil change and left the chip installed. They didn't say a word about it. The only way I believe that Kia could void my warranty is if something failed and they would have to prove the failure was caused by the racechip. I did remove it for my first trip back there but I'm leaving it installed from now on. Just thought I'd share this info for anyone interested.

@@jperdue3567 This is not one of those OBD gimmick chips. It actually works by spoofing the ecu's boost pressure causing the engine to allow more boost from the turbo. You can see the difference if you have an old school boost gauge that is tied to the vacuum line. The Forte GT peaks at 15psi in stock form. With the Race Chip, it will push it up to 21psi.

@@jperdue3567 For NA vehicles its pretty much BS. For charged vehicles, these are known as piggy-back systems. They just use the stock ecu and spoof the pressures to trick the car that is is not producing as much boost as it should be. As long as the piggy-back system is programed to not push the boost too high, the stock ecu will maintain all the normal failsafe that are programmed with the car.
