AF2 look absolutely delicious and had a beautiful crunch Always cooked my roasties in oven but I think I have to try this in my new airfryer. I too am on a mission to make the crispiest , fluffiest and tastiest roasties I have ever made. With all the excellent tips I have found online and your vid How can I fail
Great comparison! Thank you, I'm looking forward to getting my air fryer and I will definitely be doing the potatoes the AF2 way (air-fryer with oil) the crunch is my favourite part of the roasties! TFS 👍💖
Just what i was looking for, so i need oil in the air fryer or oven. I was finding the rack a/f was soggy on the inside will try yke b/c in the water . Thanks great video.
That crunch from AF2 got me all weak in the knees. Haha thanks for this, made oven cooked yesterday and it took for ever…. Definitely trying the AF today 😁😁
I usually steam my spuds, that way they don't get soggy and break up. Let them dry off the put in air fryer and spray with onecal - there are different flavours. Before getting an air fryer, I put my spuds into the hot fat in the chip pan. Technically not roasted but outcome the same.
Air fryer really surprised me, they are perfectly cooked in the middle and crispy, which never happens in the oven even after more than 1h35 hours oô Hail Air fryer ! I don't even need to parboil them, it's insane
Good video. BUT... Just be aware that there are many air fryers (like mine) that do not have removable "grill plates" (or whatever you call them). The perforated plate is part of the inner basket attached to the handle. So AF2 is not possible - unless you get one of those inserts sold as air fryer cake pans (which will take away even more real estate). Or.. get creative with foil. (But don't try preheating with just the foil in, especially if you have oil in it. The internal windstorm will cause you severe grief) I'm sticking with my oven for these. Sometimes, "traditional" just works... :) (Oh, and the time difference between AF2 and oven? Tht' just another chapter of the audiobook I'm listening to ... or some playtime with my cat. Your mileage *will* vary )
DO NOT boil tatties first, this is called cheating, never boil taties before roasting them, half roast a joint of beef silverside, then add he tatties cook them in the roast juice, that he Scotish way, and the right way
Slobbing around the counter tops is a bit like a student thing.. I am pretty good at certain stuff, do I need to be a slobby student to do this or just do it without slobbing on the kitchen counter? End of the day, this kid would probably eat his own socks after a night trying to convince even his own flat mate to come back to his room
For the airfryer I spray the part cooked spuds with oil then give a dusting of course semolina which gives a bit more crunch to the roastie.
Definitely going to try the AF2 method this evening, thanks for the vid.
I prefer the traditional way by using the oven. Thanks a lot for taking your time to share this interesting video.👏👏👍👍❤❤
Thanks I’m glad you found the video interesting! 😄
Thank you for this video! I needed this exact video
Airfryer as good, with 20 minutes less cooking time. Would say that's the clear winner in this energy crisis!
Yeah you’re not wrong!
This is the data we needed.
Oven won on appearance for me.
How many did you eat in the end?
Fair play! Yeah do like the classic oven look - Haha had about 10, still way off your record
Number 2 looked great. Thanks
Hope you enjoy!

Thank you! Yes it is all about the crunch! I hope you enjoy your recipes with the air fryer 😄
I do the AF1 method, but spray with oil for crispiness. Will now be trying AF2 method for a quick mid week treat. Thanks for the tips.

Great video idea! Had me hooked for the result.
Cheers Jack!

Haha it was a great crunch! Hope the air fryer works for you 😄
Triple cook them.
Watched this while mine were boiling so I knew what I was doing with them 😅 went for A2 👍🏻
Haha nice, I hope you enjoyed the potatoes! 😄
@@OliBrandon they were bangin'! Appreciate your potato cooking leg work 😄👍🏻
@@dwysan Glad to hear it!
Do u pre boil before air fry
Yes par boil as normal and then air fry!

Steaming sounds like a good method!
Great episode. New sub. Thank you 👍
AF2 for me 🎉
I’d recommend a different mic for the sound where you’re in front of the potatoes. It will make a big difference. Good content though
Fair play, I do need a better mic! Thanks 😄
Hi oli great video af2 was the best 🤗
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video 😄
AF1 win
Toss with oil rather than just sprinkle the oil over it. Then toss with seasonings in corn starch for a crisp outer.
Nice! Yeah I’ve heard corn flour can give a nice crispy crust
I stopped being an atheist when I made my first air fryer meal

That’s great without needing to par boil them! Will have to try that
What potatoes did you use?
Maris piper are great for roast potatoes 👌🏼
Good video.

AF2 looked and sounded the best
Another southern rich boy
Oven baked
Fair play! They are classic
Appearance..is how it’s spelt…😂
Spelling has never been my strong point haha
Пофиг как жарить, главное чтобы картофель не успел остыть, иначе станет мусором =)
Yeahh always better to eat them whilst they are still hot!
Roast potatoes belong, nowhere near an air fryer
Can’t knock it until you try it!
Clown
The potato’s would look much better if you’d removed all the “eyes “ from them, just sayin’ 😵💫
Haha fair play
AF2

Yes Gerry - no slobbing, no good roasties. Those are the rules
And here you are slobbing over the video
@@returnoftheimac1441 you need to learn that slob on roasties makes them soggy.
