A quick Beginner's Guide that tells you all you need to know and doesn't waste your time! Blue Beetle is a Powerful Zoning Character with Great Mobility and Good Combos! This tutorial will cover every special move, their meter burns, the most useful attack strings, Super, and some basic Bread & Butter combos (mid-screen and corner)!

f = forward
b = back
d = down
u = up

When they put one of your favorite obscure characters in the game and he's actually pretty good.
I never felt like he was that obscure. Honestly, I knew him from batman the brave and the bold.

I didn't even know who Blue Beetle was because I'm not that into DC. I just did a random character when I started playing and I got Blue Beetle and I fell in love with him. His strings felt easy to pick up to where I could actually hold my own as a new player who couldn't really get into games like Mortal Kombat.

Noah Neuteboom bruh I got you. his f2,3,3 and f2,1 are the go to combos as the range on them is crazy and one is overhead while the other is low. also with the overhead you can special cancel with his log kick to get an overhead and low all in one. his b2,2,3 is your go to for the corener as that is the only combo that can get you follow up moves. green thumb is your go to special and you should use it whenever and wherever possible. what I do after using green thumb,3 is I immediately use normal vine grab since it puts them in that range and if they try to roll escape or wake up attack they will get caught in it, putting them in range for another normal vine grab if they try again. I've taken someone from 100% to zero in seconds beacuse they wouldn't duck it. Otherwise I would say you CAN save meter for super, but swamp thing doesn't have any tools to really close the gap so meter burn roll is a good idea.

At 9:23 is there a trick to landing the back 3 after the f12? Unless i meter burn it i cant get the timing right at all. there's 1 or 2 frames maybe to fit it in.
Blade barrage can also let you bring out your claws i’m just not exactly sure how to do it consistently, does anyone have any tips on how to activate your claws in the middle of special moves?

Can you do a video on like combo basics? Like the general idea of extending combos and things like that? Me and my friends are new to fighting games and would really appreciate something along those lines.
Bmac4460 learn your moves then the rest is puzzle pieces....see which moves can come after your other moves and keep doing so. We all end up with same combos usually.

So I was playing around in practice mode and I think I found a bug (no pun intended) for blue beetle, after I do the 111 combo string I input d f and meter burn it before I hit square on accident and it made it so the 111 string canceled into a forward 3 (I have the auto interpret thing on so it might have something to do with that) it does require some delay in timing and I can now do it consistently into a f2 3 and combo off of it. I don't know if this is intentional or my lack of knowledge is showing but I can't make it happen by correctly pushing the buttons so I believe it's a bug. Non the less great video keep it up, thank you for giving a very understandable guide to this character

Can you show us footage of your remote? This is my first fighting game (thus I am a beginner) and I have no fucking clue what the timing is sometimes it doesn't respond. Idk i think it's because I go to fast? It's weird

You can meter burn blade barrage twice and do shield bash. If you add it to your combos you can do 20+ combos
Hi, quick question, BB seems to have pretty low damage generally speaking, and not a very concrete game plan. What are you thoughts?
His low damage was meant to counter how good his mobility and keep-away is. He can also air-cancel his 1, 3 which is very tricky to block. The nerfed damage was meant to make him more balanced. While I understand why he does so little damage, I really wish he did more. That being said, he does have some combos that do 40-50%
Quick question, I noticed that his mb air projectile looks like it launches, in the corner can you cancel out of his 1,3 into that? Also, thanks so much for the response! Love the content you put out, always helpful!

How do you get the combos on the screen like that? Or did you edit it onto the screen?
Pause and select move list, then go to moves and press your top button, it'll star them so they appear on screen during battle

You can just press back back MB by the way. So press 111 really fast, and then back back MB, don't press 3.

If that doesn't work you just have to find the correct timing to press back 3. Every characters Is different and your not the only one who finds trouble with the back 3 off of a combo. You just have to sit there for ages in practice mode and find the correct time to press back 3.

I played injustice gods among us. I just got injustice 2 yesterday. Lol and I'm pretty new to this genre. I've played a ton of different fighter too. Damn I don't get how you guys remember all the combos!!!
MooMoo 8399 Gotta do it over and over again. The best ways is just doing it in practice repeatedly or playing multiverse and have the button inputs pinned onto the screen.

I think what aggravates me the most is trying to get the directional inputs right with the joystick. I used to play with d pad but I couldn't get my diagonals right. With the joystick I accidently push up a little so my character keeps jumping and messing up my combos.
2 years late and here is advice for mk11 and injustice 2 if you're still playing use the dpad never use the joystick

qcf means quater-circle forward. Which is the same as down, forward.
hcf means half-circle forward. Which is the same as back, down, forward.

what does the - mean im so confused?
The dash implies a new attack string or special move. I also use it to separate certain moves that would be hard to understand without the dash (like qcb, f+1).

The dash is just meant to separate the different strings. Commas are a single attack string or part of one that is canceled into a special move. The dash represents the start of a new attack string or special move.

Against a better zoner, BB is not so good at zoning, but against a CQC fighter, he is quite good at keeping distance and zoning
