I've watched tons of music production content on youtube, but Big Z always provides the most useful and easy to understand tutorials in the shortest amount of time, which is great!
Big Ups Big Z. I was working a transition and going through one of your old transition videos when this popped up on my feed released while I was in the process. It's great to have a new one with fresh ides.
Highly recommend the pro house drums pack: those sounds are high quality and add some instant quality percussion to my sketches, forcing me to up my game to match them with my instrumentation. Thanks for making that pack and making it easy to get!
I really like this video. I have to say though, that at first I felt like the final transition version was a bit unsatisfying (still cool). Maybe because the cuts are made at the drop instead of in the verse section. It feels like a delayed drop, which is smooth but also kind of misleading. But the verse vocals are also leaping into the drop and the actual drop vocals are also delayed. So this kind of transition seems to mimic the vocals, which is a good thing. I am not sure though, wether i actually like it or not. Do you think the cuts are better placed at the drop or before it?
One thing I notice about EDM producers is they don't end on the 1 with a kick and crash and in this example it really needs it. Most drummers end on the 1 of the next beat.
he pays vocalists to do them, like most producers who make a decent income. its very expensive if you want exclusive vocals that nobody else will have.
when you see you must or you have to or you should or a must do on the file tag... Its a must SKIP video you should do coz thats totaly nonssence to be honest
0:07 so a bad transition for you is = no transition wtf 😂 why call it something that is not happening ? It's like calling water.. bad milk... either there is a transition that can be " bad " or not... do you also call someone a bad dancer if they never started dancing and just stod still ? there needs to be some kind of an attempt atleast...
There are pretty much unlimited options to use when making a transition. Different ways to cut things in and out, automating reverb/delay on certain element, adding unique drum fills, using chord changes and melody changes. It never has to be the same
@@BigZMusic My main point are that there are songs that actually are better with no transitions, they just float on to chorus, intensity increases and that's all the needed, more or less. Ofcourse there are million ways to make a transition. This is no critics, just a reflection after reading the topic xD
6 minutes of concise gold. thank you.
Been watching tutorials for over 10 years now, but you remain my favorite teacher, thank you Big Z!
