There's a really good clip on youtube of Angelo Badelementi's writing process for the song. Lynch was talking over his playing describing the feelings in a poetic way, and Badelamenti was just playing for the director's mind. He even gets emotional telling the story.

And then I became a huge fan of Nightwish... and then Lilja abandoned Apocalyptica, and Tarja Abandoned Nightwish... :( But then they started performing together!! I was so happy when I saw both of them live once in my country.. I can die in peace....
