- Here is what I wore on the cruise we went on to Alaska on the Majestic Princess sailing on August 15, 2021. I share some footage of what I wore and also tell you what I think you really need to take. I also tell you that I overpacked and what I didn't need.

We just returned from our 9/26 cruise!..It was fantastic except for the weather..Mother Nature decided to change our itinerary and we were not able to stop in Skagway or Ketchikan. Still got to see Juneau and Glacier Bay...So amazing..Can't wait to go back hopefully in 2023. We did dress in layers thankfully as it was very cold, windy and rainy..

I saw some couples with expensive looking, brand new trail boots, good for serious hiking. These were elderly people. I found regular Sketcher-type sports shoes just fine. Think they would have had better footing with their everyday walking shoes. Didn't buy anything special at all for our trip.I have a couple pair of black slinky pants and different nice tops for formal nights.

Those shoes you wore for formal night are beautiful! I can't wear heels anymore so sparkly flats sound great! What brand, please.
@Nancy Hogan Hi Nancy, The brand is Alex Marie and on the box it says the style name is Zhoeythree. I have had them for a couple of years so they might not be available. I bought them at Dillards and I have bought other dressy shoes from that brand before so maybe just keep an eye out for that brand and see what you can see. Thank you very much!

So I’m more of a jeans girl am I going to be OK wearing jeans in August and do you still have to layer in August
@shelley burnette Hi Shelley, Yes! This cruise that I am showing what I wore was just this last August and you really do have to layer. The other two times we went was in July and layering was so important then as well. I know it's hard to think of leaving from a very warm port at embarkation and need warmer clothing, but you really do and layering is what will keep you comfortable and enjoying the trip! Thank you!
@@LetsGoTravelTips we Are leaving from Vancouver. Which brings up a whole Nother point I did find where you get the Covid test information from but it only has United States will be in Canada
@shelley burnette Do you live in Canada or the United States? If you are from the United States, just buy the home Covid tests and take them with you if you are going early to Canada and then just do the video call with the healthcare provider on line in your hotel before you board. If you are going to Canada within 2 days, just do the home test before you go to Canada to board the ship. Does that help?
