The disciples return from a ministry stint and Jesus provides some space to rest. People come from all around to receive a miracle touch. When Jesus looks at the crowds he is not annoyed or angered. Instead he is moved to compassion.

✏️ MESSAGE NOTES:
30 The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to him all that they had done and taught. 31 He said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a remote place and rest for a while.” For many people were coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat.
32 So they went away in the boat by themselves to a remote place, 33 but many saw them leaving and recognized them, and they ran on foot from all the towns and arrived ahead of them.
34 When he went ashore, he saw a large crowd and had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. Then he began to teach them many things. {Mark 6:30-34}
1: We are accountable to the King
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil. {2 Corinthians 5:10 ESV}
2: The King calls us to rhythms of work and rest
splagchnizomai (splangkh-nid'-zom-ahee): “to be moved in the inward parts, to feel compassion”
3: Following the King means we have compassion.
“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” {John 10:11}
