Thank you! An alarm station at our Makerspace was knocked open last year, and we couldn't figure out how to reset it. We just taped it shut and that's been ok. Today someone accidentally pulled one, and I found this reset video, and you had one of ours (the Simplex at 5:10) and I got them both fixed today.
I recognize the notifier pull. They used it in the elementary and middle schools in my old district. The simplex “push in and pull down” they had in the middle school when I moved to a new district, and then the T pull they used in the junior high and high school.
This saves me a lot of money, for I don't have to call an alarm guy, who will charge me a minimum of $250.00 to reset my pull station and then reset the fire panel. Your examples missed the the ones I've seen the most, They are the 'Mirtone' or 'Edwards' model, where it has a glass rod. Anyway, great video!
Hey! Your an amazing youtuber, after i watched a few of your videos, now im obbsesed with them! I so far have a wheelock fire alarm strobe, and a simplex. Im pretty young, but still this is an amazing hobby, you taught we a lot!
Great video. FYI, the Gamewell/FCI pull station at 10:48 is actually made by Signal Communications (SigCom) in Woburn, MA. These can be branded under many different names as is the one you have, and can be single or dual action, toggle or momentary switch and can include a glass bar visible through the open window below the T-handle.
I know this is not a topic on the video, but the older Radionics fire alarm system at my Walmart had Edwards Integerties, but the system got upgraded and now they are all L-Series. However, there is one General Notification integerty by an employee door, but I’m not sure what it’s for. It has a blue strobe btw.
@@jamesmccrackyn9160nope. Not even then. Pulling a fire alarm pull station will notify the fire department. Drills use a command that only sets off the fire bell. Edit: please guys stop replying this comment is two years old
6:37 i have that at my elementary school and its the same brand and the same look so its kind of cool to hear the words “its becoming pretty uncommon” and i can see
I have simplex 4903 alarms at my school. We also have 2 truealerts. And a few vintage horns. Pull stations: Simplex t bar. Every area of your school you see simplex t bars. In the first grade area there is a simplex chevron. It may or may not work. Also at our firehouse subs there is a vintage pull box.
10:23 those fire alarm pull stations are in the apartment building my sister and grandma live in. The notification appliances are a large Faraday bell (I don't know the model number). What's interesting is it's a 3 story building, one pull station and one bell on each floor, no panel either. The pull stations serve as simple on/off switches for the system
The west wing at my middle school has these 2:31, i believe its an addressable system. And the east wing has these 6:34, its a conventional system. Fun Fact: The west wing has Seimens (I believe rebranded) LED horn/strobes, and the east wing has Vibratone horn onlys and a grey 7002 horn. Seimens system is on code 3 and the FCI system is on continuous. Funny enough the east wing doesent have many smokies given its unsprinklered, though the 2 kitchens have Edwards recalled heat detectors every like 5 feet, XD. West campus has smoke detectors virtually EVERYWHERE which is actually suprising given that its sprinklered. Althoug the east campus was built in 1962 and was originally used as a high school, and the west campus was built in I believe 2014 maybe 2015, could be entirely different years for as far as i know. Just has to be within 2010 - 2020. One of the MS-2's at the front door is in the dual action variant but is missing the lift part, XD. Unsure what happened to it, it probably got stolen or something. (TO TH-cam: I DO NOT COMMIT CRIMES, DO NOT COME AFTER ME.) Not so suprising that the pull at the entrance got accidentally pulled TWICE, its a crowded area, they put an STI Stopper on it, after they did it it WENT OFF AGAIN. Either a duct smoke or the stopper did no good.
I actually have seen a sti push station in a building my mom used to work at a YMCA and in the indoor pool room there was a general emergency button on the wall
14:48 They have these in Blue in my district with a "Lockdown" label And they close all of the fire shutters and locks them to isolate a threat and set off blue flashing lights in the loud environments like the gym, music, and vocational classrooms.
That alarm that is in the cover is actually not nearly as loud as you think. The one in my school next to the classroom which is near an exit door is always coming loose for some reason, but It just sounds like a faint siren in the background.
I feel this should be made known. I recognize this Gamewell-FCI Pull Station. About 7 years ago I had got one similar to this brand new in box for christmas. (Ademco branded with Model number 5140-MPS1) The inside was different in which mine had a button. Please be observant about the pull station. It could be a button or it could be a switch (as seen here).
does fire light have the same model as notifier or did notifier company later rebrand, also for the cover are you saying the pull station itself makes noise too or is it just cause an alarm is close to it typically
On the MS-2, you’re not supposed to just open it and then close it because it can cause damage to the pull station. That’s why it’s recommended at all times to just open it, manually flip the switch, and then close it.
Also, the MS-6 you showed actually is much more like a BG-8, and I think you should have demonstrated that. On another note, I think the Gamewell-FCI t-bar you showed is an MS-95T. I do know they're originally made by SigCom, marketed as the Sentry series. Most of those I've seen are branded by Bosch. Great video! Keep up the great work and thanks for your service to the community!

Probably for notifying police as yellow strobes would be used to notify hospital staff while blue strobes would notify police.
